We had work completed by Nu Again a( Nathan Rothlisberger, owner) in August of 2022,and it was done sloppily and incorrectly and our deck looks worse now than before they were hired. Nathan refused to fix the problem, did not answer our texts and when we would call the office they repeatedly hung up on us. Right after leaving this review, see picture of text Nathan Rothlisberger sent.

Do yourself a favor and hire someone else. See for yourself. They just slap the stain on with no attention to the amount. My deck is still wet and sticky after almost 3 months. Mold started growing from the moist conditions. This deck is 9 months old! The floorboards have clumps of stain in between still. Nathan has told me his warranty doesn't cover environmentals....I'm pretty sure it doesn't rain oil based stain. Stain was dripped and spilled on brand new patio. They tried to fix but can't. In the process they ruined some pavers and I have missing polymeric sand. Nathan is difficult to work with and has told me I'm a joke when I've asked him to correct things. I'll get this restored but this will clearly eat up time and energy to be reimbursed.

Sand doesn't go to the edge. They say it's because my edging isn't tight to the bricks

We used Nu-Again to do our deck and brick patio. This review is lengthy. They had good communication from the office to tell us they'd be coming out until our projects ended. Once finished, no one called us about final payment and to ask if we were happy. They charged the card we used for the initial deposit which was wrong and caused us a financial burden and we had a lot of issues and no one would return our calls and they kept throwing our calls to voice-mail so I finally found an email address as all there emails are auto generated from a third party service. Also, they were never on schedule, never gave a time frame on the days they were coming, and were supposed to text when on their way but no one ever did , they just show up. They say no one needs to be home but believe me, you need to be there because when I wasn't, they screwed up the job or return calls to fix issues. For the deck, the don't sand off all the old stain. They only light sand off the area. So they stain over the old stain. They do a fast and sloppy job leaving some of the old stain showing even though they do two coats. They replaced three boards charging $125 per board. When done, they left shards of wood behind. They finished the job May 16th and here it is June 20th and I'm still waiting for them to come back and cover up the spots where the old stain is still showing. For the patio. They power washed and while doing so, took off some of the new stain on the deck, which after many voice-mails and emails they finally restained. They moved my patio umbrella down the slope of my grass instead of the flat of my grass but promised to return and move it back for me since I can't do it. They never returned and ruined my grass and my landscapers had to move it. It was so deep down in the grass on that slope that the landscapers had to use two guys and one guy on the riding mower to push it back up the slope. They used gray sand instead of the tan we requested. Now my patio looks dirty. They did not fill all areas with enough sand. When I brought it up to the crew they said they brought the allotted amount of sand. Someone later came out for an inspection, they wouldn't send out a supervisor, and he could see our old tan sand in places and didn't know why they used gray. But it was too late since the sealer was already applied. He couldn't fix places where there wasn't enough sand except the edges where he made a motar and put it in with his fingers but it's kinda messy. He said the sand didn't go into some of the edges because our border wasn't all the way tight to the edge but from the time from the original estimate all the way through the project on the patio, no one ever brought that up as a problem or ever offered to repair it. The guy doing the inspection said their company does that repair. Also, when they put down the sand, their supposed to use a compactor, they did not and the inspector couldn't speak for why our crew did not use it. After they finish the job, they don't call you, they take final payment without your permission if you used a credit card and then ignore your calls. I am stuck with them since I have warranties on my deck and patio and I hope if I have to call them on a warranty issue I won't have an issue but I will not be recommending them.

Glen Galis Concrete Contractor - Great job

    Glen Galis Concrete Contractor

Before the work…read morebegan, it was very dangerous especially in the winter only having two steps to the front door. This was not even code in Kane County. Glen's installers were very meticulous and timely in getting the work done this past spring. I am constantly getting compliments from neighbors !

I had Glen quote me on fixing my concrete issues. He only offered me the option of removing and…read morereplacing my entire front concrete porch that has two cracks in it --one was jagged -- so did not look good ($5500). Another company came out, drilled down the uneven concrete and coated the cracks with matching concrete for $100. Is this a lifetime fix? No, cracks do re-open but even brand new concrete can crack over time. Then Glen said to repair walkway was $2500 (completely take up and replace so it sits at higher angle to front patio so the step up to the front concrete porch is not so high up. Another company put in a form and built me a concrete step that makes it possible to not replace the walkway, and then they filled in concrete imperfections and cracks in the sidewalk and left me extra concrete color, if it re-opens. My garage needed a new step (replace old wood one with concrete) and he quoted me $225.00 which is reasonable, and my side step had sunk and he quoted me $525 to replace it. The other company simply added a step to the side concrete, anchored the new form to the house, recoated original step and charged me $200. Their cost on the garage step was similar but they made it extra wide, so we can fully step out on it. I guess what I'm saying is there is more than one way to fix concrete, and Glen only does it the expensive way. If you have a large budget (I would have had to allot $8000.00), then yes, go for it. I also had concerns that all the drilling of the front patio would affect cracks in basement wall on that side and re-open them and queried Glen re that in the email (no response). Glen does not respond well (if at all) to emails, so remember to call. I think that he does great work, but remember it's only replacement work. He's not going to offer you any kind of "fixing" it work. I've learned through watching the other mason work, that concrete is fixable, also, by a home owner. It's fascinating watching him mix colours to match whatever imperfection needs patching. I now have fixed some low places and cracks in my garage floor myself!!
