I am very happy with my SNS manicure and my pedicure is perfect. The lady who did my nails really cared about my happiness. The orange color we picked didn't turn out to be the color I wanted. She offered to change it on the spot, but I had somewhere to be and didn't have time. She offered to change next week. While not exactly like the picture I showed to her, I think I can live with it. This salon is a hidden gem in Blacksburg! I have been struggling to find somewhere to get my nails done in town and this is the place to go. First off, this salon is so clean! The inside is organized and very orderly with how they operate. The staff is also very friendly and welcoming. I walked in for a manicure and actually had a staff member start her shift right as I came so I didn't have to wait long at all. I needed gel polish removed and it didn't take long for my tech to get it done. Anna was quick but careful, had great attention to detail, and was kind. She revisited my cuticles when she saw they needed more trimming and was careful about making sure I didn't mess up my nails when moving over to the drying area and rummaging through my purse to find my wallet. Small attention to details with the whole process of getting your nails done are important here. Hoping to be back soon! read more

Pleasantly surprised. I read the reviews and decided to give this place a shot. I got a classic pedicure on a Thursday. There was only about 4 people getting serviced, so I had a short wait. I thoroughly enjoyed the chair massage while I waited! The staff were nice, friendly and accommodating. The classic pedicure was $28. They did a good job of trimming and painting nails. I REALLY enjoyed the hot black stones! I wished it lasted longer! Limited "massaging" of the feet and calf with my purchase, but I'm sure they would provide additional services with a higher priced pedicure. Overall, I was satisfied. Warning!! Going to be a lengthy review coming up... I first visited here with my niece to get a pedicure for her and myself. At first I was impressed because they used hot stones during the pedicure, something I have never had from just a 'basic' pedicure. I asked for french tip on my toes and then acrylic overlay on my big toe, as I always get when I get pedicures. The lady doing my pedicure asked another lady to do the acrylic for me and the lady refused. This is something I HATE when I go to a salon, is when they refuse to do a service you ASK for. No other salon has refused to do the acrylic on my big toe. I get it because I want the square shape, and with how my toenails grow, is not possible with my toenails. The lady said the acrylic is not needed and it is "not healthy". Like I said, every other salon I have been to has done this for me without any questions asked. She absolutely refused to do this and just kept saying I "didn't need it". I just ended up saying okay so I wouldn't cause an argument with her. The lady doing my pedicure did not take all of the acrylic off of my toe that I originally had on, though, and last night it was lifting and snagged on something, causing my toenail to rip off. Now my toenail looks worse than it did before. I looked at my toes and I noticed they didn't even go under my toenail during the pedicure and I still had stuff under my toenails... nasty. On the other hand, I re-visited this shop to get my nails done (before noticing the whole toenail situation). I noticed they aren't very clean. A good nail shop does not reuse certain materials and I noticed this shop does. I wanted an acrylic full set with gel polish and of course, I was asked if I want SNS. NO! I want exactly what I said I wanted. Anyway, I get my nails done and I pay and go out to my car. I start to look at my nails in the natural light and really pay attention to them and I noticed they were very chunky and not even at all. Every one of my nails were different shapes and sizes. Usually I'll just deal with it but this time it was way too bad for me to keep the nails. I walked back into the shop and asked to get the nails removed. I showed how they were different shapes and sizes and they insisted to just "fix them". I get my nails done enough to know there was no fixing them. I said no, I would like them to be removed. They started to remove them and the older lady came and sat down to help me and she started saying how good the girl that done my nails was and asked why I didn't like them. I again had to explain they were different sizes and shapes. Originally, they said they would give me a $20 refund. When my nails were almost taken off, they brought me a $20 gift card instead. I paid a total of $53 for my service. A $20 gift card is nothing considering I got the nails completely removed and I feel like it was known that I would not be coming back to their salon. If I was offered a $20 refund, I should receive a refund and not a gift card. To sum it up, this salon is horrible for not giving their customers what they ask for. I go to a salon for the services I ask for, and a salon has never actually refused and argued with me about getting a service done. I have never seen a salon reuse as many products as this one does. If you didn't know--salon's are supposed to disinfect and replace certain products every customer. The pedicure tools weren't in the blue package like they usually are at other salons, so I am unaware if they actually disinfect them or not. Buffing tips for the drills should be new with each client and the ones they used were not new. Monomer should also be replaced every client, as it provides a clean application if the monomer is new. This monomer is just reused monomer just sitting in a big container. There are just so many health concerns at this salon. Like I said, I have gotten my nails done enough to know what to actually look out for. The photos attached are of my nails and how bad they looked. You can see the difference in length and shaping. If I could give this place 0, I 1000% would. Went in and got my previous nails taken off and soaked my nails in hot acetone for about 30 minutes off and on. The nail grinder was practically burning my nail and I had to pull away multiple times. I asked for them longer and she cut them shorter. She didn't even know how to do French dip and completely screwed that up. She was also very rough on me. Me and my best friend thought we would have a girls day but both of our nails are messed up. Hers feel like they are falling off and the lady told her she couldn't do short nails. Payed 55$ for something I'm gonna have to go and pay another 50$ to get fixed. Already made an appointment somewhere else to get them fixed today so the concert I go to tomorrow I don't have jacked up nails. I would not recommend this place unless you're getting your nails painted. Doesn't help that one lady in there doesn't know how to do a single thing. And the advertising says 35$ for full set but they somehow end up charging you about 30$ more. read more

I went here the other day to get a manicure and pedicure. I saw someone getting the orange one and decided to get it. There's a lot included in the pedicure (scrub, lotion, hot stones, paraffin wax) and it smells very refreshing. Easily one of the best pedicures I've ever gotten. Definitely the star of the show. And their color selection is massive. Unfortunately, the shaping of the toe nails could've been better and my toe nail chipped the next day. I had to wait 30 minutes after my pedicure for some unknown reason. The lady doing my pedicure just kind of left without telling me anything to work on another customer. The manicure was okay. The nail polish was applied kind of unevenly and they drew blood from every finger when they were doing the cuticle stuff. Another thing that kind of bothered me, was that a lot of them weren't wearing masks correctly (under their chin, taking it off to talk) and their instruments seemed to be communal, not sanitized in between customers. Lastly, when I paid, I didn't get a receipt and they demanded I also tip my pedicurist (I was planning to, but this just struck me as rude). So why 4 stars? The pedicure was awesome. Everything else. This review is for manicure only, I haven't had waxing or pedi service here. Lia did a great job giving me a gel manicure, she paid attention to detail and didn't rush. It cost $30, which is reasonable considering it was a full manicure (not just gel polish) and they had to take off old gel too (there's a salon in the area that charges $20 extra to take it off!) I've paid $40 at a nearby salon for a full gel manicure where they didn't do nearly as good of a job. I had to wait a little bit because they only had a few people working on a Saturday, but I would be sure to make an appointment next time. The reason why I give this business so little stars is that the girl who did my nails, although nice, had absolutely no idea how to do SNS nails. She put only 2 coats of powder and sealed. The materials besides the powder were goopy and not branded SNS. 4 nails already chipped and they look so sloppy. She didn't shape my nails or smooth them. The worst part of my story is I was charged 50.00 and I have to go and have them redone because they look so bad. If your staff isn't trained well, why would you allow her to do SNS? There is no way she was certified to do SNS because she did it all wrong. I DO NOT recommend this nail salon for SNS. I wasted 60.00 read more

I went in for a manicure and had to get my current gel removed. To take off my gel polish that I had on she buffed my nails and left ridges on my actual nails that I had to wait to grow out. Then, during the manicure she turned around and added acetone into the paint bottle and continued to do my manicure. The actual painting was fine. read more

So my husband sent me on a scavenger hunt to this nail salon where he had already paid for my first time ever getting my toes and nails done to my surprise! Best man ever! Only thing is my nail tech would not listen to me when I told her I'd like medium long nails. She had an issue with putting tips on me. After I was done I noticed all the tips had space between my nail and the tip. I came back again Monday waited an hour for the owner to tell me to come back at 1 on Tuesday to get my nails fixed. I sat there for an hour on Tuesday just for the same nail tech to tell me she won't put tips on. Then the owner tell me to come back the next day. I teared up and she told me to come back at 6 and she will take care of me .. the tech then proceeded to take the tips off by the drill and burnt tf out my nail making me cry. Also the tips were so bad they broke Monday night. I got them done sat... She then decides to soak my nails and left me sitting there with no words at all for over 20 minutes before saying I can leave. This company is horrible!!! Getting my feet done was get but they are horrible at nails! She is not going to give me my money back either after having to come back now 4 times for their mistake! read more

Yes, it does get a little busy in the mornings, but the staff always does a great job and takes their time to make sure your nails are exceptionally done. They don't honor appointments, they are understaffed so there is always a long wait, their work is terrible - they ruined my nails. I went here because they had open appointments for a last minute event, and am not pleased. My friends service was great but mine was done wrong. I got gel on my toes and SMS on my nails. My toes are okay, the nail tech smudged them multiple times but thankfully fixed them. However made me bleed once on my pedicure, and three times on my hands. The SMS was not done like other places, with only 2 coats, and the activator put on each nail first, then dipping them all, instead of one at a time. My friends nail tech even said she was doing it wrong but did not tell my nail tech so she proceeded forward. I wasn't too upset until today (3 days after I got them done), and they are all cracked, and one even chipped...something I have never seen with the SMS as it is supposed to last a lot longer than gel. I did not do anything insanely active that should have caused this to happen...and I have done very labor intensive work with SMS from other places and been 100% fine. Overall, I will not be returning here and would be careful of what kind of service you will get dependent on the person you get...this should not happen. read more
