Ugh - well, I was in town for the holidays and my mom wanted to get her nails done. I decided to tag along and get a pedicure. I mean - it was a big space and there were lots of choices for polish. But that's about where the compliments end - service was very odd - I was ushered to a chair, but they didn't have the water ready. Then I sat for about 30 minutes until someone came over to do my nails. Then it was mostly quick and careless. I wasn't offered a dryer afterward, and even after waiting for half an hour, my nails were scuffed within an hour after leaving. And I was waiting for my mom to check out, but they rushed and insisted I pay immediately even though she was still there for another 45 minutes. Overall NOT impressed at all. Probably won't come back.

I walked in needing a fill in with a design. The woman working on my nails rushed through them and was not receptive when I corrected her on the design. I just let her finish and they charged me $70. I hate the nails and am likely going to have them redone. None of the nails look like the design at all.

you can see chipped tip on middle

Person 1 uneven chipped tips extremly thick panted thumbs that are completely shorter than other nails as seen in photo. design lines not straight Person 2 tips half panted half not got a fill in =$50, apparently. I guess price was misleading fill in is 30, gel is 15 on the sheet. where did the other five come from i do not know? 5$ was said to be trimming down at checkout but they had to speak about it privately Overall, i paid too much for something that was not the best personally wouldn't come back

Gel polish mani from Nail Envy

Nail Envy is the nail place to go to if you are in Christiansburg, VA for manicures, pedicures, waxing etc. It's located in the Spradlin Farm shopping center near Barnes and Noble. They take walk-ins and will do their best to get you in quickly! Navigating the store, I'm going to include this piece as a witnessed a young lady who seem so confused walk down the middle of their workspace. There are 2 doors, you enter on the left side door and you are immediately greeted with a how can I help you? There's a clipboard on the counter for you to write your name and what you are wanting done. Most people say "SNS" or "Pedicure," if you say "Manicure" that's not very specific. Do you want an SNS manicure, gel polish mani, acrylic mani? Show a picture of what you want if you are not sure. There are nail color samples to select on the left and know what you want. Returning clients sometimes have the numbers memorized. The workspace for the nail techs is the middle of the store, in a circle. There are walkways down the left and the right of the store. They do take appointments, however I have called when they said they did take appointments, but when I called yesterday the person answering said they didn't take appointments, so I don't know when they do or do not, but you can make an appointment for your next one at the end of your session. I've personally had gel polish and SNS powder manicures by Nail Envy and can tell you about the experiences. I have had 3 gel polish manicures $35 done here, the quality depended on the person doing the work. I had two lovely manicures by an older gentlemen and one by another who seemed rushed. The rushed manicure ended up bubbling up on two nails where the polish didn't cure between layers and an attempt was made to fix, but it wasn't. It bubbles up and peeled off on two. When I came in the next time, I sat next to a few clients getting the SNS manicure. It was a bit more in cost $40, but the removal was faster. The SNS powder seems to hold up the longest. Some say it last 3-4 weeks, and I have found it does, but my nails grow too quickly. Pedis, there are signs not to step on the basin because it will break. Lots of fellas getting pedicures too, So don't be shy. Last, smile ladies. As I sat getting my nails done I noticed all the straight faces on the clients. Y'all are getting your nails done. Your hands are about to look fabulous, smile, be happy! #selfcare I'd recommend Nail Envy to anyone in the area!

Here I find myself in a different city, on a Sunday afternoon, with a week full of meetings and in terrible need of a manicure. Found this salon and walked in. I asked upon arrival if the wait was long and she said, " no, go ahead and sign in." Picked my color and sat down to wait, and waited and waited. I noticed that walk ins that arrived after me had already been called and were getting their services before me. Then, I was finally told to go sit in the 4th chair on the right . I waited there for 25 minutes without anyone acknowledging me. At the 30 minute mark, a lead lady whom I assume to be the owner came over with a polish remover bottle and cotton balls. Placed them In front of me on the table and asked me to remove my own nail polish for her. I thought she was kidding at first and realized she wasn't. After another 10 minutes, I was asked to move to the other side where my services began. I had a very inexperienced nail tech, nails were all uneven and filed at an angle, not straight at all. I asked him to fix, which he did but wasn't happy about it. I them noticed that people around me were performing their own services. The gal next to me was telling her mom (who was seated at the other side) How she did most of her dip manicure! On the other side of me, the nail Tech next to me was filing her customer's nail down with a tool and the customer's nail bits flew Into my hair. Gross!! The customer was embarrassed and the nail tech didn't even notice. If all of that wasn't bad, they needed my chair for another customer, so I was asked to go sit under the hand dryer and when I asked about my top coat, he said he would be over there in 5 minutes to apply my clear top coat. In 20+ years of having my nails done, it has never been done this way! This nail salon is like a bad production line. By Tuesday, my nail polish was chipped. I will be back in the area but wont return to this establishment. I DO NOT recommend this salon to anyone!

Made appointment. They were 30 min late. My nail tech disappeared in the middle of my service. Then shortened service to finish faster.

I had nail polish on because i tried to do my own nails before coming but it wasnt acrylic or gel or anything. The guy (i dont know his name) then starts removing a part of my nail with the cuticle trimmer because i guess he noticed it was bumpy, i did NOT ask for this. He starts taking like a verticle chunk of my nail out, which is literally a surgical procedure. I highly doubt the tools were sterilized, and I'm pretty sure this act of nail salons removing ingrowns is illegal. I didn't say anything because i'm a pushover im ngl but i didnt want this "procedure" and he didn't ask me either. the whole time my cuticles were BURNING because he kept trying to literally cut my toenails into a different shape. I came in with my toenails trimmed like you could tell but i guess for the performance he HAD to trim them extra BUT only on one foot! so theyre not even in length. literally the most bare basic of services could not be done right. not to mention it was painful because my nails were already trimmed, i dont know what he was cutting. when i say trimmed i mean no white part of my natural nail left. and then he filed my nails into the UGLIEST nail shape ive ever seen. I have NEVER in my life seen this nail shape in my life on anybody. He did not ask me which nail shape i wanted, he just started filing and when he was done he asked "you like?" like what am i supposed to say, you can't undo it, can't grow my nail back. Then for the french tips, he showed me a pink polish and i thought it was too bright and i showed him a picture of what i wanted and he pulled out the same nail polish, sure whatever. I was already too deep in. he does that, then the white part of the french tips: thick, crooked, uneven throughout nails, just not the level of service you would expect from a self proclaimed nail salon. The service costed $55 (without tip) I did not tip. $35 pedicure $15 gel $5 "french" (two swipes of uneven polish) I'm super upset because I got this pedicure to wear these heels for my upcoming birthday but I don't think I will anymore. Do not go here. In the photos you can see how theyre uneven in length and also the damage done to my underside of my nails and also cuticles. I forgot to mention after every step of the pedicure he would go back with the cuticle clippers and just dig into my nails and cuticles. You can see the dip especially on the right side of my cuticle on the right foot. As for the guy, I dont know his name but he had a tattoo that said "doi trai" on his left upper arm if you're facing him, badly done faded tattoo. Also when he was doing the nail polish he used his finger nails to wipe the sides of my toe nail, which i thought was gross.

***SUMMARY (if you don't want to read the details): -waited…read moreover an HOUR past apt time in cold pedicure water for services to even begin -daughters mani + pedi was messy and not preformed correctly (mani simply consisted of wiping the nail with a cotton ball and brushing on polish which is NOT a manicure) -my full set acrylic was equally bad if not worse. Lumps and bumps in the acrylic. Some parts way too thick. Edges not clean. NOT at all what I asked for (I'll try to include the pics of we agreed to do vs what I got). The service wasn't performed as they should be. No communication. And worst of all, HORRENDOUSLY overcharged 90$ for the set I got (for reference I only paid 95$ at Nail Trix a month ago for XXL acrylics with jewels and hand painted nail art on each nail) To start I am a licensed cosmetologist for almost 9 years so I am trained, well versed, and licensed in hair, nails, waxing, etc. So I understand what should and should NOT be happening. And I also am very understanding because I myself am in the same field. So we made an apt in advance for 3. Get there at 255pm. We are greeted and seated in the pedicure area shortly after. We spend OVER AN HOUR waiting in cold water for someone to finally come start on our scheduled services. No apologies, nothing. Over an hour later, a woman finally comes. She starts on my daughters (7yrs old) mani and pedicure. I was also supposed to have a pedicure but since it took an hour to even start, I informed her I would just be getting a full set and not doing my pedicure. (We had plans after our apt which I had set a reasonable amount of time past our 3pm nail apt but because they were so behind there's no way we could wait on her to do my daughters nails and feet, then do mine, then wait to do my full set). I wait next to my daughter for someone to call me over for my nails. She was friendly to my daughter which is a bonus. However the polish was messy. The manicure didn't even happen really. She wet down a cotton swab and wiped her nails and polished them. Which is NOT a manicure. The pedicure was mostly correct besides a few things. But again polish was messy. And then finally about an hour and 45 minutes past our appointment time my nail artist waves me over to the station. I share the picture I wanted and he nodded and started to work. Again, the services were not performed correctly (nail filed wrong, cuticle not pushed back or trimmed properly, etc). And there was absolutely no communication with me. Which is probably part of the reason why my nails are not at all what I asked for. The finished product ended up: not what I asked for, lumpy and bumpy, edges not clean, some nails are thicker than others, etc. And as a professional I can tell you these nails arent going to last as long as they should since they werent done properly. And to top it all off, he passively mentions at the end of my service that they are charging me 90 DOLLARS for my nails! Which if you don't know, is absolutely overpriced. Like almost criminally overpriced. My nails were a medium/long set with a simple nude to white ombre. No nail art, and no polish used. Nothing. (For reference I payed 95$ at Nail trix in Christiansburg for a XXL full set acrylic with jewels and hand painted nail art on each nail). Not to mention they didn't even get the simple nail I asked for, correct. So at the end of our services with this business, I'm out of 125$ for bad service, unacceptable wait times, and mediocre work at best. As a professional AND a customer I do NOT recommend this salon. I might even look into reaching out for a refund because this is ridiculous and there's no excuse for what happened today when me and my daughter went. And as a professional in the same field my advice to this owner is to change things ASAP. Some of the things I saw and occurred while there are against the rules we have as licensed professionals. Along with the straight up intentional overcharging and outrageous wait times for people with appointments. And etc. These are unacceptable things to be occurring.

I love this nail salon. It in the best in NRV. I will give…read morethem a 5+. Can't wait to they open back up.
