I will never go back to Nail Envy. I was charged $185--not including tip! That included $80 for two full sets (mine and my granddaughter's), $10 just to remove the five nails I had left, $15 for gel polish on mine, and another $10 for a cat eye design. When he asked how I wanted them shaped, I said "rounded," and then I was charged another $10 each for a "special shape" for both of us. The basic pedicure was $45, with an additional $10 for gel polish. I honestly regret not telling him his tip was built into those excessive charges. I also noticed inconsistencies in the gel polish pricing between mine, my granddaughter's, and my pedi--but I didn't say anything because I was worried he might tack on even more. To be fair, they were fast, and my nails look nice--but they definitely don't look $185 nice. Totally unbelievable experience. Never again. read more

Ugh - well, I was in town for the holidays and my mom wanted to get her nails done. I decided to tag along and get a pedicure. I mean - it was a big space and there were lots of choices for polish. But that's about where the compliments end - service was very odd - I was ushered to a chair, but they didn't have the water ready. Then I sat for about 30 minutes until someone came over to do my nails. Then it was mostly quick and careless. I wasn't offered a dryer afterward, and even after waiting for half an hour, my nails were scuffed within an hour after leaving. And I was waiting for my mom to check out, but they rushed and insisted I pay immediately even though she was still there for another 45 minutes. Overall NOT impressed at all. I went there on Mother's Day to get my first ever pedicure. I was scheduled with Jasmine, but she was busy with another customer, so Tim stepped in and did my service. He was very gentle and sweet. He accidentally clipped my cuticle too short, and my nail bled a bit. But he immediately cleaned it up and apologized. The staff was very friendly and courteous and the salon was very clean and nice. Tim even moved my shoes and purse for me because they were sitting near a small puddle of water under the foot basin, and he didn't want my stuff to get wet. He even offered me a beverage during my service. I was overall very pleased and will definitely be going back there again. read more

Nail Envy is the nail place to go to if you are in Christiansburg, VA for manicures, pedicures, waxing etc. It's located in the Spradlin Farm shopping center near Barnes and Noble. They take walk-ins and will do their best to get you in quickly! Navigating the store, I'm going to include this piece as a witnessed a young lady who seem so confused walk down the middle of their workspace. There are 2 doors, you enter on the left side door and you are immediately greeted with a how can I help you? There's a clipboard on the counter for you to write your name and what you are wanting done. Most people say "SNS" or "Pedicure," if you say "Manicure" that's not very specific. Do you want an SNS manicure, gel polish mani, acrylic mani? Show a picture of what you want if you are not sure. There are nail color samples to select on the left and know what you want. Returning clients sometimes have the numbers memorized. The workspace for the nail techs is the middle of the store, in a circle. There are walkways down the left and the right of the store. They do take appointments, however I have called when they said they did take appointments, but when I called yesterday the person answering said they didn't take appointments, so I don't know when they do or do not, but you can make an appointment for your next one at the end of your session. I've personally had gel polish and SNS powder manicures by Nail Envy and can tell you about the experiences. I have had 3 gel polish manicures $35 done here, the quality depended on the person doing the work. I had two lovely manicures by an older gentlemen and one by another who seemed rushed. The rushed manicure ended up bubbling up on two nails where the polish didn't cure between layers and an attempt was made to fix, but it wasn't. It bubbles up and peeled off on two. When I came in the next time, I sat next to a few clients getting the SNS manicure. It was a bit more in cost $40, but the removal was faster. The SNS powder seems to hold up the longest. Some say it last 3-4 weeks, and I have found it does, but my nails grow too quickly. Pedis, there are signs not to step on the basin because it will break. Lots of fellas getting pedicures too, So don't be shy. Last, smile ladies. As I sat getting my nails done I noticed all the straight faces on the clients. Y'all are getting your nails done. Went for a fill-in and pedicure and left with a $100 tab and foot fungus from the dirty equipment. They never sterilized anything. I had to wait in the pedicure chair for 45 minutes without water or anybody servicing me. And she cut my toenails down too low and nicked my toe and made it bleed. I do not normally leave reviews, but after two remarkably poor experiences I felt it necessary. The first--six weeks ago--was a sloppy SNS manicure during which the technician nicked my cuticles on three different nails due to a lack of paying attention, resulting in an allergic reaction when exposed to the chemicals of the manicure that required treatment by a dermatologist. They are still healing. Yesterday I went for a pedicure--the same jellI/spa pedicure I have had for years--which was done incompletely and charged the same amount. When I inquired about the issue to the front desk manager, I was greeted by a shrug and told all technicians choose how to perform a service. We have excellent alternative options now in this area--including at least one started by a former employee--and will be taking my business elsewhere. I am concerned by the low standards and low class service, and worry it is actually indicative of them "cutting corners" in other ways, especially regarding hygiene/health requirements. I do not do this lightly--I have been going to this salon for years. However, as I understand it, the original owners--a lovely husband and wife team--actually sold the salon. I am assuming the new owners are the culprits, and I refuse to reward bad behavior by returning again. It is unfortunate for them, as I routinely spend upward of $200-300 on nails per month as my job requires me to give presentations/workshops and I see ensuring my nails are done as part of my professional attire. As this is now a pattern of subpar service, I felt it necessary to post. they literally gave me the worst manicure i've ever had. the nails themself looked decent, they weren't exactly what i asked for but they still look good so i'm not really complaining about that. however, everything else about it was ridiculous. for starters i left the salon with 6/10 of my fingers bleeding because kevin cut me eight different times with either the clippers, nicked me with the drill or nail file, or got glue on my skin and ripped it off. i feel like it should also be noted that while i had open wounds that he gave me, he also had an open bleeding cut on his hand that was not covered. i will say that he tried to cover it with a band aid for a little bit but it fell off after a few minutes and he just didn't bother recovering the cut. he also was huffing and sighing during the entire service like it was such an inconvenience that he had to do the service he was being paid to do. he also kept telling me to relax because i was so tense, like i was just supposed to relax after having my hands cut open that many times. and to top things off he put a gel top coat on my nails that i did not ask for because i knew it would be an additional charge, but i didn't realize that that's what he was doing when he did it and i got charged extra for this. everyone else in the salon seemed to be enjoying their services and having a good experience, so i don't think this is a salon wide issue but i would highly recommend for anyone considering this salon, to not book an appointment with kevin. the first part of this review is what i put on their google reviews about a week ago, but now one of my fingers is refusing to heal while the other ones have basically healed completely over. the finger that isn't healing is also the one that i pulled a cured piece of acrylic out of the cut on it when i got home so i may have to go to the clinic soon to make sure theres no more acrylic left in there or it's not infected. i feel like i should add that he also cut everyone of my nails shorter than the nail bed before putting the tips on so all of my finger tips were so sore for a few days after. this was really disappointing considering the fact that i saved for weeks and was really looking forward to getting my nails done for my sorority formals, just to get this kind of treatment and have my fingers hurt during my formals read more

We asked if there was a wait and the woman responds "long wait" and walks away from us not even offering to add us to the wait. I spend $90 to get acrylics with a design and 5 days later 2 had already fallen off completely. I did nothing harsh on my nails to cause this to happen. When I called to have the nails fixed the man on the phone was incredibly rude and said it isn't his problem and I must have done something wrong. He also said he told me not to get tips and that's why they broke which is a lie because he never said that and I get tips every time I get my nails done. Here I find myself in a different city, on a Sunday afternoon, with a week full of meetings and in terrible need of a manicure. Found this salon and walked in. I asked upon arrival if the wait was long and she said, " no, go ahead and sign in." Picked my color and sat down to wait, and waited and waited. I noticed that walk ins that arrived after me had already been called and were getting their services before me. Then, I was finally told to go sit in the 4th chair on the right . I waited there for 25 minutes without anyone acknowledging me. At the 30 minute mark, a lead lady whom I assume to be the owner came over with a polish remover bottle and cotton balls. Placed them In front of me on the table and asked me to remove my own nail polish for her. I thought she was kidding at first and realized she wasn't. After another 10 minutes, I was asked to move to the other side where my services began. I had a very inexperienced nail tech, nails were all uneven and filed at an angle, not straight at all. I asked him to fix, which he did but wasn't happy about it. I them noticed that people around me were performing their own services. The gal next to me was telling her mom (who was seated at the other side) How she did most of her dip manicure! On the other side of me, the nail Tech next to me was filing her customer's nail down with a tool and the customer's nail bits flew Into my hair. Gross!! The customer was embarrassed and the nail tech didn't even notice. If all of that wasn't bad, they needed my chair for another customer, so I was asked to go sit under the hand dryer and when I asked about my top coat, he said he would be over there in 5 minutes to apply my clear top coat. In 20+ years of having my nails done, it has never been done this way! This nail salon is like a bad production line. By Tuesday, my nail polish was chipped. Nasty, rude woman! The three of us as well as two in front of us and several others walked out. We were not addressed so signed in, the firm wasn't filled out as the lady wished we assume. She actually yelled at the two who went before our group of three and then us. CRAZY! We had a seat and after sitting in the pedicure chairs for a very long time and not even being addressed at all we decided to leave. Would not recommend. As I showed him the colors I wanted he said no they wouldn't look good and changed them. He then asked what shape I wanted and I replied to which he said "no, almond will look better." Having very athletic feet, I am always looking for a thorough job. The woman who did my pedicure was very nice and did a great job tackling my feet. Very efficient. Would highly recommend coming, but they do fill up fast. Despite waiting about 25 minutes because things were a little busy (understandable), the man who completed my pedicure was very pleasant and did a thorough job in trying to clean up my athletic feet. I think I bragged about this place on their Facebook. I take it all back. I just got my nails cut down,and the older guy who did it for me had to be the rudest man I've had serve me there. He didn't listen to me,I asked short,and he took them down maybe a fraction of an inch. He got mad because while he was cutting them down some of the pieces flew off into his face. I know it all depends on who you get;but all of them there aren't real great. Yeah,I know sometimes they're good at nail art,but-that don't bring in customers. I've been a long time customer for over a year and when I first started going I would recommend this place to everyone. More recently though, I haven't been having a good experience here. Your service depends on which nail tech you get. It's a hit or miss. Yesterday was my last time coming to this place. The lady I had yesterday I've had once before. She seems nice but not very talkative and she was rushing. I hate when they use the electric nail drill on my nail itself to remove SNS to "speed" the process because they end up drilling too hard. I've been cut and burned from it. (They do use bowls with acetone that you dip your nails in to remove sns which I prefer, but usually when they want to move faster they'll use a combination of that and drill.) Some of my nails from yesterday are uneven and rough edged. Thought I could give them more chances but have been more disappointed lately. Oh and by the way, prices never stay consistent for me. One nail tech charged me $10 to SHAPE my nail. Hadn't heard that before here nor anywhere else. read more

They are just flat out rude. The woman and husband who own the place give dirty looks. She yells at you when you walk in and you can't even see her. Terrible customer service. While I was getting my nails done, the man getting my nails done was shaking his head after she has yelled at someone walking and and as she didn't respond she got upset and said "she could say hi". He told me she is always like that. It's just disgusting they way they treat customers. I saw her snatch a jacket from someone and also I've noticed when a heavier set person comes in she scolds them to read the sign that says "do not step in tub, will crack". I only go about three times a year for a pedicure, but I always go to Nail Envy. They provide great service for a good price, and the providers are careful, knowledgeable, and friendly! She cried for maybe 30 seconds and the everyone was staring and huffing and puffing(the staff, not customers) then, the lady doing my toes asked me if I wanted to leave. Uh no? Finish my pedicure.
