She did that and then left, and I later realized she hadn't colored my whole head. I told her I had bought my own color kit but would still pay the full price. She even double-checked whether I would pay $65. Then she left me to wait while the color processed. I noticed color on my face and had to wipe it off myself. When she washed my hair, she rushed through it, and water ran into my ear. The most ridiculous part was that she asked if I needed my hair dried. Isn't washing and blow-drying standard? I said yes, and she quickly dried half of it and said she was done. When I asked whether other people who color their hair just walk away with wet hair, she said yes. Meanwhile, a girl who had also had her hair dyed by another hairdresser was getting a blow-dry and walked right past me. At checkout, she still charged me $75 for a full color. She acted friendly and started conversations, but I could tell she didn't want to serve me, a minority. This was a terrible experience. The place has gone downhill in the last two years. The last time I was there, an older hairdresser gave me excellent service. I will never return.

I…read morewas waiting a half hour at Nail Bar in Blacksburg past my appointment time until I was even remotely acknowledged which was really frustrating since I'm a regular client there. I just got up and left. Top Nails is right up the block from Nail Bar and I walked in at 2:55 and was warmly greeted. I was nervous they wouldn't take me since it was a Saturday which is usually a busy day. I was sitting down in a chair in 2 minutes and they immediately attended to me. The workers there are very friendly and welcoming. Although they also seemed busy they gladly did my nails. Jenny did a really great job and was very speedy. I was in and out within an hour and my nails look great! (Side note my cuticles look bad because I pick at them, not because of the nail tech). They also have a much wider color selection than most nail places I've been to. The prices at Top Nails are just about the same as they are at Nail Bar so if you're being ignored there go to Top Nails. I think Top Nails is easily underrated and over looked. The nail techs are very experienced and do really great work and the place is very clean. I especially appreciated that the lady who greeted me kindly asked me to wash my hands prior to getting my nails done. I feel like this isn't done often and made me feel better when getting dip done since the containers are often shared and reused. I will probably go back to Nail Bar when my usual nail tech comes back because she is very friendly and I love going to her and she always makes sure to have me in a chair at the time of my appointment.
