My nails look great and taken care of! They worked very fast and were kind throughout my service

I have been a regular customer of this nail salon for well over a year. In April 2026, during a routine gel manicure, a new nail technician was removing my gel polish when he stopped and told me that I needed to see a doctor immediately because I had fungus under every one of my fingernails. Naturally, I was very alarmed. I told him not to apply new polish because I intended to go directly to my doctor. As I was paying, another employee, a female technician whose name I do not know, asked why I was leaving without having my nails polished. I explained what the first technician had told me. She examined my nails, took me back to a nail station, redid my manicure, and assured me that I did not have a fungal infection. She specifically stated that the previous technician "didn't know what he was talking about." She then applied new gel polish to my nails and advised me to soak my nails in salt water to help my cuticles. Based on her reassurance, I believed there was nothing medically wrong with my nails. Over the following weeks, I noticed unusual growth developing underneath my nails. When I returned to the salon on May 22, 2026, for another manicure, I expressed my concerns to the nail technician. My concerns were dismissed, and I was led to believe there was nothing to worry about. A couple of weeks later, I removed the gel polish myself and immediately saw significant damage to all of my nails. I scheduled an appointment with my physician, who confirmed that I have a fungal infection under all ten fingernails. I have now been prescribed oral antifungal medication, which I must take for at least six weeks, with the possibility of a longer course if the infection does not improve. I am extremely disappointed by how this situation was handled. The salon had an opportunity to encourage me to seek medical treatment when the infection was first identified. Instead, an employee assured me that there was no fungus, applied additional gel polish, and continued providing nail services despite my concerns. As a result, my diagnosis and treatment were delayed, allowing the infection to worsen. I am also concerned that if the salon knowingly performs services on clients with suspected fungal infections without proper precautions, it could place other customers at risk. read more

I got a pedicure and acrylic set. The pedicure was fine, however, I had made an appointment instead of doing a walk in and once they started my nails, I kept being handed off to different people. The last guy I ended up with had a client come in and was swapping between the two of us until my set was finished. They turned out super thick and were done in a way to make them look already grown out. I've had them done for a little less than 1 week now, and they look like I had them for at least 2. read more

Great job on my nails! It was a pretty basic salon experience. The woman doing my nails was very nice if I asked her to tweak something for me, re-assuring me that it was okay & that she didn't mind. Pretty clean in there too. I got a full set french tip with white pearl chrome on top. It was $75, which I found to be a little much but idk, maybe with inflation things are just higher nowadays. It was great though! Can't complain. Will come back unless I find somewhere a bit cheaper. read more

I'm updating my review because of the customer service. They definitely treat this place more like a business and all you are to them is a paying customer. I don't know what happened within the past year but they consistently overbook which causes people with appointments to not be seen until typically after their appointment. I am a regular at nail bar and absolutely love going to Mey because she's very sweet and attentive. Whoever the lady is who sits in the first chair on the left (maybe the owner) is very dismissive. Mey has been out of town for a little so I asked to see a different nail tech. My appointment was at 2:30. Full disclosure, I had to change my appointment from 1:30 to 2:30 very last minute which is my fault, however the woman on the phone said this was fine and that they could take me at 2:30. I arrived early around 2:00 so they could soak off my nails to try to save them time. I didn't expect to be seen until 2:30 which is fine. When I walked in the (maybe owner) said you're early and he's not going to take you right now, which I already knew. I asked about 10 minutes later when she was less busy if I could just sit and soak my nails. I have dip so they just soak in a bowl of acetone. She said "sit there" and that was it. I was sitting next to the nail tech that was scheduled to do my nails at 2:30. It was then 2:50, the nail tech already started working on a new person's nails and I was ignored the whole time. I also never even got my nails soaked off. I don't usually do this, but I just walked out and left because I felt this was an extremely rude way to treat a customer whether they are consistent clients or brand new. I ended up going to Top Nails which is up the block from Nail Bar. They were just as busy and they took me instantly. They were very warm and kind and accommodating. Their prices are also the same and my nails came out great. If you're being disrespected just go to Top Nails. They're very underrated but have a mix of older and young well trained experienced staff. They have way more color options and will do everything they can to accommodate you quickly. They also are very cleanly. read more

Great service! Good workmanship, pleasant staff and the salon was clean and attractive!

I was the last appointment of the day and was last one in there. I really appreciated how he still took his time (I was there for 2 hours) even after the store was closed. Although the set looked good, after I left I noticed some smears with black polish and wasn't exact to what I had in mind but that's not what bothered me. It hasn't even been two weeks since I got them done and they're already falling off. I've never had this problem before and I am not hard on my nails or hands whatsoever. This was my first time coming here and I've heard nothing but good things but it will probably be my last. Usually my nails will last up to 2 months or more before I decide to take them off for myself. I was very frustrated when the first nail popped off not even after a week. I paid $80 plus a generous tip and for it to have been 2 weeks and they're already gone is very upsetting to me as I was looking foward to this gift to myself and I feel like it was a waste of so much money. read more

Second time coming to the Nail Bar. First time was an okay experience. Second time I stepped it up and asked for nail art. Well she (nail tech college student's name that I unfortunately did not learn) did AMAZING! I came in with an idea and picture... and she blew me out of the water. Definitely going back to her for more nail art. She was also super sweet so major plus. Good luck nail tech college student's name that I unfortunately did not learn! read more

I made an appointment but arrived early and noticed that there were a lot of people walking in, so I decided to check-in so that they could choose to take me early. They moved me to a chair at 2 pm, when my appointment was supposed to start, but then I was left soaking the gel on my nails for 40 minutes. Everyone had cleared out and new people were coming in when I finally got someone's attention. He sent a new person over and my manicure began. I think Gene did my nails, and while he did a very nice job and I would be happy to have him do my nails again, I would only recommend coming here if you aren't in a hurry. read more

great experience and I love the nails they did! quick 30-45 minute. i did dip and it was $78. thank you!

The store is very clean and beautifully decorated and the employees seem friendly and polite. Prices in my opinion were very reasonable. They do often seem to be in a rush when the place gets a bit packed. During COVID times, I'm a bit surprised they sat individuals so close together without any guard or glass in between, so maybe not the best place to be if you're very COVID conscious. I had SNS done for the first time and it was done so beautifully! However, I suffered 2 cuts (I'll spare you the bloody images), one minor one on the bottom edge of my thumb cuticle and the other about an cm long cut across the side of my index finger. It was very painful (especially since the nail polish and powder manage to seep it before I noticed the cuts) and I'm not too sure the individual who did my nails either ignored or just did not see it? I'll give them the benefit of the doubt as it was small. I'm hoping that's just my experience. I would recommend this place otherwise. Make an appointment early in the morning if you can. I found it wasn't as busy on weekdays around 9:30. read more

I've gone here several times with my family and have rarely left completely satisfied with my nails. Whether it's the color or shape, they always look differently than they should ESPECIALLY considering how high their prices are. The last time I went there, I wanted my acrylics soaked off and to have SNS instead since they had grown out some and I prefer SNS. They had a guy come and basically rip my acrylics off and tore into my nail bed. Then once I was bleeding, they wanted me to soak the rest of the nail that was hanging off in acetone!! The only reason I'm giving them a two star is because I know some of the techs are good but they have several people there that do not know what they are doing. read more

So the times I've been there before, I haven't been entirely satisfied. I'm very particular when it comes to my nails, and I'm overall skeptical of the concept of SNS. I needed a quick full set for an event I have this week, and Nail Bar got me right! As always, the shop is super clean and has great customer service. The boy who did my nails, Ryan, was very kind & very professional!! He also did a great job, was very meticulous about the shape and overall look of my nails!! Safe to say I'm an official happy customer **Also, ignore the little cut on my thumb in the photo uploaded, I just don't know how to dice a tomato properly. UPDATE: so his name is actually Bryan/Brian. I evidently can't hear properly either read more

I had made an appointment for 4:30 through Facebook, confirmed and everything. I walked into the salon at 4:15, and checked in. They told me my appointment was at 4:00 so it had been cancelled, and that I would have to wait about 20 minutes for the next avaliable tech. We waited for 30 minutes and nothing had opened up, which was fine. But walk-ins were coming through constantly and were seated immediately. We waited for an hour before I was finally dealt with. Not to mention the fact that the secretary was extremely rude and not helpful at all. My nails ended up being $70 dollars, and i'm not much of one to complain about price, but this just seemed like way too much for what I got. This being said, the man who did my nails was very nice and did a really great job. If you plan on going here, don't. They treat you like nothing but a paycheck, and care nothing about how you are treated. read more

Pretty good nail place but I feel like they're always busy! (Which is good for them but just always feels packed in there as the customer). I made an appointment today for pedicure, gel manicure and eyebrow waxing. I am currently waiting for my eyebrow wax, had the pedicure and manicure both done within an hour. They seem like they're rushing but they do a good job. Just kinda so so about this place Update: no clue why but my fingernail polish has faded???? Very confused. I got the same color on my fingers and toes. And although yes they're chipping and in rough shape there should be no reason for this differential in color??? They most definitely were both OPI strawberry margarita. Ridiculous. I think it's because they rushed me through the manicure. They didn't leave my hand under the light long enough maybe? Don't mess with this place honestly read more

Not bad. Today was my first time visiting the Nail Bar. I was a bit skeptical based on the mixed reviews. But, overall, I was pleased and would return. Although it looked "packed", my wait wasn't long. The place is nice and clean. I observed technicians changing the pedicure bowl covers each time someone left. My technician was very friendly. Today was my day OFF, so I didn't engage in any banter with him! The massage chair has me dozing! He probably thought I was mean, but I was just relaxing! He spent a sufficient amount of time on my mani and pedi. I particularly liked the time spent cutting my cuticles. He was helpful in providing info on nail maintenance. He did try to upsell me to get gel polish; but since I don't know too much about that, I passed. Plus, it was an additional $10. The only reason why I'm not giving 5 stars is because, as good as my technician was, he COUGHED ALOT!!! I'm OCD and it just got on my nerves! With my feet and hands in his hands, he couldn't cover his coughs. So they irked me tremendously. I think he should have excused himself, got some water and returned. I always like to know prices of new places, so I've uploaded pictures of their menu. read more

I made my appointment through Facebook messenger and it was very easy to make and then change. I went in and it was completely packed, every chair was full and waited 10 min next to the sinks. I had 3 different people tell me where to sit, all different, and then I picked out my color. I told him I wanted a short coffin and I picked out a very light lavender. All of my nails were crooked and the complete wrong color. I asked him to fix them multiple times and it just seemed like he was in too much of a rush to care. By week one, about four nails had chipped or broken off. read more

I decided to try this place for the first time last week and had a good experience. It was very busy as there was a wedding party getting their nails done in the salon. The part I really liked was their ability to accommodate people, even when they were busy; however, this meant I had three different people picking up my manicure. The manicure was nice, however, I feel like it just wasn't what I'm used to. Everything was just less. Less time spent on polish, less time spent on cuticles, etc. My nails were presentable, but I felt like it wasn't worth what I paid for the manicure. read more

Ladies, you haven't lived until a strong, handsome man has given you a pedicure. And if you are interested in this experience, I suggest you get yourself to Nail Bar Blacksburg. I made an appointment for a SNS manicure and a regular pedicure on a Wednesday evening at 6pm. While I was there, I noticed plenty of walk-ins, so I'm not sure the appointment was necessary. There was a bit of confusion in the beginning due to a bit of a language barrier, but it was resolved quickly. The pedicure was sublime. The man did a great job on my nails, but even better, the foot and leg massage was so amazing that my toes curled. Wow! This was my first ever SNS manicure. I was fascinated with the process and that someone actually came up with the idea. The woman who did my manicure was a bit curt, but she knew what she was doing. This place is great! It's clean and cohesive in interior design. They have a great system set up, and the staff is mostly friendly. I have been lucky to get really nice technicians when I come. I saw Lindsey recently a different person than my previous visit. I didn't make an appointment because my engagement shoot and wedding planning was rushed and by ear. They are extremely meticulous they take their time to do it right! The nails when you get acrylic or just a plain manicure with gel stays on longer than any other times I've gotten my nails done at other locations and in different cities! There pedicures are great too, relaxing, and they ensure to get off all the crud you don't want( I say this because they really try to make your feet as smooth as possible and will take their time. There were other people there that stayed after I left and were there before I came and they were working those feet!) some people may find it pricey but I think it's worth it, because infections are a NO-NO! Its crazy but after todays visit I need to say that the people who work there are people, and you should converse like a grown adult and be nice, not rude or have attitude in your tone when speaking! read more

I got to say good customer service! Employes are friendly and really care about doing a good job. Bryan was the person who did my nails. I did SNS on my nail and for some inexplicable reason, two of my nails broke after a week (SNS last approx. 3-4 weeks). I showed up at the front desk and let them know I had a nail emergency. They quickly took care of my nails and fixed them for a not additional charge. Also, I loved the variety of colors they have available. I received a pedicure and SNS (dip powder) nails. I think that they did a really great job. They were also pretty fast (one hour total). The salon itself is really pretty. They checked my temperature per COVID-19 precautions and everyone wore masks which I appreciated. The price for SNS is $40 however there's an extra $10 charge if you add tips (which I did). The pedicure was $28. Overall I paid $78 (not including tip). I would definitely come back again! read more

WORST nails EVER!!!! Took over 2.5 hours for SNS and they turned out very splotchy, uneven, bubbly, and the nail tech filed the color off the sides of most of my nails.
