I was crunch for time and my fren suggested this restaurant for our lunch. Is this the NOZAWA, I went to yesterday Sunday July 25th 2010 with my gurlfren for lunch? I hope so. My order was as the following : * KING CRAB Nigiri * Unagi ~ Fresh Water Eel Nigiri * Spicy Scallops Nigiri * Amaebi Sweet Shrimp Nigiri My friend ordered Lo-Mein with Chicken to dine in and Chicken Fried Rice to go box for her hubby and daughter's lunch. All in all I experienced better. The "bad" thing about the sushi was the rice, too googy for my taste bud. When my fren ask me to taste her Lo Mein, it was mushy, though a little tasty. If only they can make it more spicy coz we ask for Sriracha sauce, to up the taste of the Lo Mein. The service was OK, and if I am not mistaken our Server her name was Virginia and the food came quite fast for us. Luckily we were there before the crowds of other patrons came in for their Sunday lunch. I heard from my fren, Nozawa is not open during the winter months. Do call ahead just in case. The sushi was very good. I had 1 specialty rolls, 2 standard rolls and 2 pieces of sashimi. That food plus a bowl of miso and a rum & coke was $53 (before tip). Seems a tad expensive, but I haven't compared to other sushi in the area. Quality of all the fish was good except the Toro, which was very tough. Is Toro supposed to be soft and buttery? Waitress was friendly and stopped by often to check on me, sushi chefs were not friendly. It was the end of the night and I gathered they wanted to clean up and go home, but don't let in a new customer if you can't be nice, it's the only reason people sit at the bar. If you need a sushi fix and you don't mind paying for it, I'd recommend Nozawa. read more

In the summer you get deep discounts on the tepanaki entrees, it's a great deal, huge, very good. It's no Benihana, in that the chef here can't do all the same tricks, and the service isn't great, but it seems like basically the same food. They have some decent micro brews here, so kudos for that, and I've had fun the two times I've been here, but I'm not sure I'd spend the money and effort in the winter. read more

We have had a great experience in 2019! Coming back today was a disaster!!!!! The servants are rude, don't understand English which in my eyes is important if you deal with the US public!!!!! Then the server was making fun of us to a coworker about our questions which she did not understand in the first place so actually making fun of herself. We ordered 2 sushi rolls, edamame and coconut curry soup using their app at 6:30 last night and were told it would be ready in 45 minutes. At 7:15ish, they called to tell us to come to the door to pick it up, the whole process went very smoothly. The Sashimi roll was very different and delicious, large pieces of various fish wrapped in thinly sliced cucumber, that's the only ingredients. The Phoenix roll was larger (for the same price) and really, really good... we will be ordering it again. Edamame was a large portion and perfectly salted and cooked, the soup we will be eating today for lunch so can't comment on it yet. There was indoor dining available, the part of the restaurant I could see had 5-6 tables distanced appropriately and a couple people sitting at the sushi bar. As I watched, a woman employee fully masked sanitized an empty table & chairs thoroughly, that made me feel very confident of their safety procedures. We wouldn't hesitate to eat inside, from past pictures it looks like they do an awesome job with presentation (something lacking with take-out). Best sushi we've had in a long time, will definitely be returning to try some of the other unique sushi rolls they offer. read more

Turns out to be a little better than expected, in this location anyway. We saw a BOGO sign taped to the door, bingo! Of course only certain rolls are BOGO and they are really small pieces but at least they offer something to attract customers! And the rolls didn't taste too bad. The salmon roll we got from the non-BOGO part of the menu is larger in size. We came in during slow hours and as we were leaving I was surprised to find there's another bigger section of the restaurant that didn't seem to be opened at this hour. Sushi was okay considering, it was located in the mountain. We ordered Red Dragon and Snow Roll and pan fried dumpling as our appitizer. I was not impressed with the rolls. Snow Roll and Red Dragon tasted good, but nothing really stand out about it to be $16.95 & 17.95 It was really pricey for the "Okay" Sushi. I remember when this place opened, and we have enjoyed it over the years. But it has gone down in quality recently. The cleanliness has dropped precipitously. This past spring my wife (she is a huge sushi fan) went to this restaurant, and she was disgusted by the bathrooms. We had to leave. She used the word "filthy". I had noticed that the carpet was awful. Very dirty and needed replacing. We spoke to the manager, and he thanked us for alerting him, but you could tell that he had heard it before. I was offended by their misrepresentation of prices. BE VERY CAREFUL dinning here as they are very devious. They advertise 40% discount when you order SPECIAL ROLLS. Amoung other things for a full dinner I ordered online was a CRABMEAT SPECIAL ROLL. When i was presented the bill they did not give me the discount I was entitled to in their advertising for SPECIAL ROLLS. I tried to point out that what could be more qualifying for a discount that a roll whose name itself was a SPECIAL ROLL. They told me it did not apply to that roll.....i thought to myself how was I to know that? I paid because i had already been waiting 20 minutes beyond the time they told me it would be ready and the night was getting almost too late to start all over somewhere else. This is our go to sushi restaurant when in Summit County. For many years we've ate at this restaurant, but on Sunday night we were very disappointed in the quality of the sushi rolls. 4 + solid stars. Great food two Friday nights in a row! Good service with fair prices too. The sushi and teppan for all three of us were great! The fried rice and filet mignon on the teppan grill were delicious. The salmon nigiri was very fresh. The soft shell crab appetizer was yummy and a very generous portion. We tried many sushi menu items all good, my only complaint on the rolls is that the seaweed was not crispy. I am happy to have found a new place to eat in the area. Went to keystone for some boarding this past weekend and while in town, was having a massive craving for sushi. Called around and checked on yelp to see what places were open this early in the winter season and found this place. This place is in a shopping center. It's divided into two parts - one for hibachi and the other side for sushi. I will be reviewing for sushi since that's what I had. If I were to eat at a sushi joint not run/owned by Japanese, I'd at least settle for Korean owned - they do a decent job. It had a lounge vibe to it and decor was cute. The only thing i didn't like was that they were playing some pretty explicit music that had all the curse words in it - AND yes, there were children dining there as well. Shocked. Service: was ok, I definitely agree with other reviewers that said the serving style was "mountain" style. Very casual, didn't bother me. The only thing that bothered me was the 2 other tables that came in quite a bit after us and were served before we were! Food: I ordered the hypnotiq hot sake which I liked. They did have the 50% off sushi special for the off-season which was pretty cool. They also had a 20% off the hot sake. I ordered the tuna roll, double double roll, yellowtail sashimi, octopus sashimi and salmon roll. Visually, the sushi looked pleasing but taste-wise, it left a lot to be desired. The traditional rolls were fine, nothing great, but the special roll tasted bland for some reason. The husband ordered chicken teriyaki and he didn't like it. Some pieces were cold and some hot. Looking at it, it looked like a Chinese stir fry dish that they threw chunky sauce on and called it chicken teriyaki.... I went here because of the name Sushi Nogawa which was the famous "Sushi Nazi" in Studio City CA. He had the best sushi around anywhere. He now owns Sugar Fish sushi restaurants. At any rate, this place was a big mistake. The waitress had an attitude that made us want to leave before even sitting down. Nasty! The food was less then mediocre. What made it imperative that we come here was the 50% off rolls for their off-season special. Stepping in, the place was packed. A lot of the people who work here seem to be familiar with the locals eating here. The service was a bit slow, but since the place was so busy it was expected. Because of the special we ordered 5 rolls without thinking about it. The fiance was on a per diem for work so we decided to have two markup sheets for the rolls. There were some "0's" due to our changing out minds a couple times and we should have done a better job explaining ourselves, but in came this ginormous boat of DOUBLE OF EVERYTHING. Fortunately, they still only charged us for 5. Even though that's expected, we were extremely grateful. Holy freaking crap the rolls were huge too. I'm not talking huge in girth but they were just big. At the regular price of 10+ bucks a roll, it sort of makes sense. The dragon roll had the big eel that you'd typically get for a meal on its own, rather than the smaller eel reserved for rolls. Everything was fresh and delicious. I'm not sure if we'd come back to this place without the off-season special, but it definitely warrants the recommendation for anyone in the mood for some solid rolls in a friendly atmosphere. read more
