Terrible service. Not only ready to eat food is weeks old. They overcharge on everything including sneaking in cc fee of 3% on your purchases. Not sure if it's illegal but it's definitely unethical. They're are dime a dozen of mom and pop stores. This is the best way to loose customers. read more

Extremely Disappoited I recently visited this market, hoping for a positive experience, but it turned out to be one of the most unpleasant shopping trips I've ever had. Our usual market was unusually busy, so we decided to give this place a try. Unfortunately, it was a decision I now regret. I spent around $150 on shopping but was deeply disappointed by the customer service, particularly from an employee named Ella. My 102-year-old mother accompanied me and needed to use the restroom. Despite having facilities, Ella refused her access, stating that the restroom was exclusively for cafeteria customers. It's shocking and unbelievable that someone would deny such a simple request from an elderly person. This experience has left me questioning how anyone can be so cold-hearted. I hoped to address this by calling the market and offering them a chance to explain or apologize for the situation. Unfortunately, they responded combatively over the phone, further adding to our distress and disappointment. To be treated with such disregard and lack of empathy, especially with a 102-year-old woman involved, is truly disheartening. I always enjoy stopping in for little this and that. The produce is always clean and organized. The employees are very kind. I'm very American and love their deli and meat department. It's fresh and never any troubles. The girl at Checkout once even saw I was purchasing something from the deli and she took it back and came back with another one and said she was giving me one that had just made within the last hour and she wanted to give me the freshest. We bought couple Armenian dishes, 2 of them we through away, mojoj (marinated pork feet) so disgusting salty, that was not edible. Just horrible. And sweet Sujuch was all mold. What a shame. We live down the street from here and avoid this place like the plague. When I say OVERPRICED I mean like $15 for a gallon of milk.. this is a rip off. Not only that but quality is terrible all produce is barely hanging on to dear life and their bread is god awful. To top it off staff is rude. I ordered a kotlet sandwich at the deli and received a hot dog. When I told the lady my order was wrong she was extremely rude and accused me of lying to her. Why on earth would I lie and say I ordered something I didn't?? She proceeded to argue with me about it and then called her manager. She then proceeded to argue with him in Armenian... i think even threw an insult my way. He ultimately told her just make me the sandwich I want and he apologized to me but the whole interaction was weird and unpleasant. I really dont like coming into this store which is a shame because we're so close and if the interactions were positive and the price gouging wasnt so blatant it would be my go to. read more

Well. Nova is a wonderful place to find fresh food. If you love Mediterranean food or you are hungry. This is the place. MEAT: Fresh, right cut and ready to cook. And also you can orden cook. Seafood. No to much but fresh. Salad and cold cut: A lot of option and they have sandwich and catering. The bad part: The rice tasted funny but I believe it was to much dill. Ordered Turkey and BBQ catering package ... I'm sorry to say this but the meat was very flavorless and dry, please do a better job next time. Can still taste the horrible Turkey taste in my mouth. One of my favorite markets in Glendale I can tell you almost everything I've had with the prepared food it was like my mom would make it and that's a lot to live up to. I don't get the bad reviews about bad customer service to be honest I'm a gay Armenian and have gone there with my partner who clearly looks gay and not once have I been uncomfortable they have always treated me very nice. The chicken salad, jalapeño chicken and beef salad, ikra, also the eggplant and pepper salad are a must!! read more

This particular location went from Coldstone Creamery, to a random cafe, to a Zankou Chicken, to Ara's tacos finally some random restaurant that shut down months after they opened. It seems there is a curse on this property because businesses don't last there. I've been driving past Nova for months thinking "oh gosh, yet another business attempt." However, living in this area for 10 years I must say Nova Market seems like it will break this property curse. I finally made my way inside and I am so glad I ended up there. The market is full of everything and anything you need, especially if you're Armenian or Persian. They have all the goodies, all of them. They have the most amazing prepackaged appetizers and food. I tried 3 different types of appetizer salads which were AMAZING. Each little bowl was $4.99. According to my mom she pays 6+ in other little markets, +1 for Nova. I also bought a nice large portion of Kashkebadamjan. I totally winged spelling that but I am a hundred percent sure you know what I am talking about. I digress, it was sooooo good! Took me back about $12.99 but well well well worth it. So tasty. They also have different meats for khorovatz. I haven't tried it but it's there if you need. Oh btw, the lady behind the appetizer/food area helped me today with my salads and she was so so so sweet! Loved how warm and friendly she was! I appreciate those small things so much! Earlier today, I had the best damn chicken shawarma sandwich of my life. I can honestly say, I am now an addict. It was THAT good. I love this market. Everything is laid out in such clean lines and everything is fresh and delicious. Nova has many items other Armo stores don't carry. Oh- my friend had NOVA cater her wedding and it was a huge hit. Probably the best middle eastern cuisine in Glendale. I will never understand how some people can come on yelp and write a bad review because an establishment has a credit card minimum. NOVA is by far one of the cleanest and organized markets in the Glendale area. They're food is delicious and their ready to go salads always save the day when we are hosting. I'm so weary of the 1 star reviews on here who literally have no other reviews given. Very strange. Trust me when I say I am picky and a clean freak and Nova has never disappointed. They're produce is also always fresh and stocked and I have never seen a single expired item as other "reviewers" are claiming. Overall, give them a try and you can judge for yourself.
