"WANTED SOME PROTEIN-STYLE BURGERS"…read more The other day, my lovely wife and I wanted some Protein-Style Burgers, and the best place for these is at In-N-Out Burger. Unfortunately, San Angelo does not have an In-N-Out, but there are a few places around here that do offer some sort of Lettuce Wrapped Burgers, but they are just not the same. So, we did the next best thing: we took a Road-Trip to Cedar Park, Texas, to enjoy the Best Protein-Style Burgers EVER. This In-N-Out is only 193 miles away and makes for a nice day-trip in under 3 hours - one way. It's also a beautiful drive through this part of Texas. Arrived just after 11 am, and there are already a good number of people here, especially at the drive-thru. Joanna took our order: 1 Cheeseburger, Protein-Style, with Onion, Tomato, Pickles, and their sauce, also with Ketchup & Mustard. I am having the Double-Double, Protein Style, with Onion, Tomato, Pickles, and the sauce, also with Ketchup & Mustard. And we asked for 2 small drinks. My wife told Joanna that she is beautiful, and I totally agree. Filled up our drinks, Nancy grabbed a table, and I waited for our order at the bench. In-N-Out always has a lot of employees behind the counter, with each one doing their specialty. Soon our number was called, and these Protein-Style Burgers look delicious. Every In-N-Out we have been to, including out-of-state ones, always makes their Burgers the same - lots of wrapped Lettuce with a couple slices of Tomatoes and an entire slice of Onion (not slivered or pieces), with lots of Pickles. There is nothing like a nice Crisp Bite, and these Burgers provide that with every bite - and they are Very Sloppylicious with plenty of Sauce, Ketchup & Mustard. The Patty itself is perfectly seasoned and is very tasty. Lots of juiciness on the napkins below. No French Fries this time, just reducing our carbs for a while, and I love them with lots of Cheese on top. Since this is a Road-Trip, we decided to enjoy some more, went back a little later and ordered another Double-Double, Protein-Style, with Onion, Tomato, & Pickles with plenty of sauce (no ketchup or mustard this time). Also, Two-Cheeseburgers, Protein-Style, with Onion, Tomatoes, Pickles, and the sauce (with no ketchup or mustard). Caleb took our order this time, and the wait did not take very long - here's our food. These are also Perfectly Protein-Styled, wrapped with the same Crisp Crunch of the Lettuce and the tastiness of the Burgers. And they are Very Sloppylicious. For us, Protein-Style is the way to go - and we are happy we went. The drive back was as beautiful as the drive over, especially with full tummies. Grab someone you care about and take a Road-Trip to an In-N-Out somewhere, and enjoy a Protein-Style Burger of any size, on Menu or Off-Menu. Road trips are fun, and going anywhere with my lovely wife is always a pleasure. Thank You Baby for another Tastylicious Outing. Love You Bunches & Protein-StyleMunches.

We had four appetizers, and each one was (a) larger than expected and (b)VERY tasty (mushrooms, calamari, fried pickles, and boneless chicken *wings. I also ordered a protein bowl, with was very well presented -- but TWO BIG GUYS were already full by then. took home leftovers for most of the appetizers and the bowl. I will return to EVENTUALLY conquer their menu. * I think they were just chicken chunks, but whatever. Service: We were late to make the waiting list but they slipped us in immediately. The place was ROCKING full, but our waitperson was there for us very fast, both in taking food and drink orders -- and the barstaff/back of house delivering. Full restaurant: FIVE minutes max. Friendly. Not just our person, but two others that I observed while seated. Ambiance: How can you measure that in a totally full restaurant? I _guess_ it was good. Table was clean, as we seats and bench. Noisy but not too noisy. Good AC. My only grumble is that the pretty front door facade is set up so that there's no rain cover. See how persnickety I need to get to criticize something?

This place isn't horribly bad. It could be a lot better, but unfortunately, they cannot seem to…read morehire the right staff. There were approximately six parties in the entire restaurant and my drink went dry a couple times. We ordered the simplest things on the menu and while they were good, I just feel like they need to stop hiring kids that just don or get service. The food is good when it comes out, but asking if things are ok and walking away before getting an answer is not good. This is my 5th time here, and this is the only complaint I have. The service is shabby. Food is great... service is why I'm keeping it at 3 stars for now. I'll come back next month.

I had been…read morethrough the drive-thru once before and had been wanting to come back, and I'm so glad I did! It's Taco Tuesday, and the special was three tacos with rice and beans for $6.99. Such a great deal! It was more than enough for me to enjoy for lunch and even take some home for dinner. I added an iced tea and still only spent around $10. I ordered two chicken tacos and one beef (crispy, of course!). The chicken was absolutely delicious, and the ground beef tasted homemade not overloaded with taco seasoning, just simple and flavorful the way I like it. And the salsa bar... oh my goodness. They had nine or ten different items, and you can bring as much as you want to your table. That alone makes it worth the visit! The place was packed, which says a lot. We actually stayed for about three hours just enjoying conversation and the decor. The staff were so kind and smiling the whole time. Definitely will be back!

I was told that if I got the flour the cheese wouldn't be melted. Uh? I was like ok then I will stick with corn. Now mind you in the past o was able to get flour. So this tells me they don't make it fresh anymore. As it was when I got the corn the dang cheese was not melted. As you can see in the picture. We also ordered the chicken enchiladas with the green sauce. That was no better. There was only very bland tasting chicken no cheese or anything. They had no unsweet tea available and it was noisy in the restaurant. There was hardly any people there. It was the music and them banging something around in the back.

The server was adamant about us tasting the flavors before we made our selection! We got the strawberry chunk, mango sorbet, salty little secret, vanilla & pistachio. The pistachio tasted so fresh and creamy, and the salty little secret was something I'd get a pint of and eat the whole thing at home! I loved every bite, I will say it was a little expensive but this definitely a well worth it splurge.

Since we were new, we let the other people go first. The line moved very slow in total. It took about 15 minutes before it was our turn to sample their flavors. For me personally, I was a bit bummed to see all these delicious flavors that were available, but I wasn't able to sample many of them because I have a dairy allergy. So that being said, they only had one flavor that I could try at the time I did appreciate that they had a laminated sheet of paper that listed all of the allergens and all of their flavors, so anyone that had an allergy could quickly see which flavors they could try and which ones they should avoid. During my visit, I ordered their mint basil sorbet which was very good. At five dollars per scoop, it's definitely on the pricier side. However, the ambience inside this ice cream shop was nice and I could see myself hanging out here socially if they had more dairy free options. But overall, I had an okay experience here. The workers were very friendly and knowledgeable. They are located in a small plaza with ample parking. It was also easy to get in and out of the parking lot, which I think is a big plus.
