Craziest thing happened to me today, 7/15/26. I live in the Georgetown/Liberty Hill area and I work in Leander. I ordered a meal in the app from my house in Georgetown for the local McDonalds restaurant (8221 Hwy 29), but when i went to pick it up, it said the order was ready at Leander McDonalds (1445 Hwy 183). "Aggggggg)!!!" Now I'm thinking I must have not changed the location, which I'm sure I confirmed it when I ordered. So from previous experience I know I must go to the restaurant that I originally chose. So I drive to Leander as I get in the drive through line and press "I'm here", the app tells me "Looks like you're at the wrong location, you should be at 8221 Hwy 29, GT." The location I just drove from. AAAAGGGHHH! As I'm trying to explain to one of the McDonalds associates, a couple entered the store with me and they appeared to be connected with the restaurant. They brought supplies and gave them to the store manager sitting in the lobby. I kind of casually mentioned to the young man that I think their app is glitching. I showed him my phone which was stuck between the two locations. He tried to correct it, he tried to test it, we even verified the location was accurate but nothing explained what happened. He asked me what I ordered and he comped my meal. I know people always give most fast food restaurants a hard time, but I wanted the readers to know that at McDonalds restaurant #33054, located at the intersection of Hwy 183 and Crystal Falls, with Lowe's and the Goodwill store, these folks care about the customer and go out of their way to make it right. This is actually a very good location for McDonald's. The most important aspect is that the fries in the drive thru are always fresh! Of course all McDonald's have the same menu, but this crew is actually friendly, fast and courteous. A lot of the things the other locations struggle with don't seem to be an issue here. If you're taking it to go this place is literally golden. read more

Just waited over 15 min for ONE happy meal, was told to park and they would bring it out. Stood at the front all the workers look at front but no one came to ask what I needed. Waited another 10 min just for the manager to refund me. No one apologized for wasting my time! 25 min getting my kiddo something to eat, and left with nothing! I hate that I'm decreasing the stars, but I've finally dined inside and discovered issues I can't ignore. The restaurant was slow, yet the floor was dirty with trash. The soda dispenser was leaking water from the housing. There were also gnats flying around. Service was polite. Ordering was easy and the food was brought to our table with courtesy. The food was Cold and we had to eat thirty minutes to get out food ,and when we got a kids meal they give us apple slices instead of fries and the apple slices like the packet was open at the bottom. It had a low hole. and like honestly, they also gave us the wrong drink. This McDonalds if brand new. May times no one answers at the drive through. When they do they take your order and then when you get to the window to pick it up they say they do not have it. There is either a long wait when ordering or a long time at pickup or both. While you wait at the window you can see the staff just having a great time inside but not doing anything. read more

All things considered the food wasn't bad. Especially the burgers hubby had a big Mac with an extra hamburger patty and I had a quarter pounder with bacon remove the cheese. We each ordered a small fry. We ordered online for pick up curbside. We have decided to try to eat out for $20 or less a couple times a week for a summer challenge, and for some relief from cooking. The first place hubby wanted to try was McDonald's here in Leander. There was a fairly big hiccup as I placed the order online and then drove up to pick it up in the designated curbside area. I've done this before, without any issues I have learned to customize items to ensure their freshness, and also more importantly, to make them exactly as we prefer to eat them , so adding the extra burger patty to hubby's Big Mac what is his customization. Mine was removing the cheese from my quarter pounder with bacon and cheese and adding extra onion. This location did a perfect job and exactly what we requested The faux pas came in when we parked curbside and put in the number of where we were parked. I thought it odd that a couple of cars came and went after I had gotten there-and received their orders. I've never waited quite so long for an order -over 30 minutes! I finally checked into it and unfortunately, on their end, they did not receive the communication that I was there and where I was parked , we are not sure why & it happened to a couple other people during that time span yesterday evening. Anyway, I did remove one star for that as it was the very first time we had ever been kept waiting outside a normal time span. The food suffered because it was less than hot and freshly made. This rendered the french fries limp. Also, McDonald's was offering 20% off of any order over five dollars so both our meals came to a grand total of under $16 so we managed to beat the $20 budget . Overall a very reliable McDonald's! The interior is well-kept aside from some trash here and there. The staff typically have your order ready relatively fast, of course depending on the size of your order and party. The food itself is always quite nice, although the employees sometimes make minor errors on the orders in my experience, such as not putting extra of a topping. read more

If you can't be a role model, you can always be a cautionary tale. This particular McDonald's is perhaps the worst on the planet. Consistently rude staff throughout the entire drive-thru experience today. They are consistent, I will give them that! From placing our order using the McDonald's app for a discount to handing our drinks out the window. They never missed a beat. If you're sick and tired of establishments who appreciate your business, ask pleasantly what they can get you, thank you for paying them, and provide a Mocha Frappe with the chocolate drizzle only on the inside of your cup, this is the place to go! You will love it. Rude and thankless staff with absolutely zero attention to detail or cleanliness await you here. Sure, my first thought was to both go online to complete the survey and reach out to this store's management. Wasn't even a tiny bit surprised to see the receipt shoved at me without a thank you is unreadable because their point of sale equipment is just about entirely out of ink. Funny thing is that I have purposely driven an extra 3-5 miles each way to avoid getting anything at this location for the last 5 months. My friend in Leander needed to visit the AT&T store next door so we thought we'd give them one more chance. Apparently they are consistent with only employing the rude and uncaring. Months ago they caused me to start going to Starbucks while in Leander. I just happen to prefer a McDonald's Mocha Frappe over the Frappuccinos from Starbucks. These people just ruined my morning and I was in a great friendly mood! We had a really nice experience at this McDonald's. First, they had a big smile when they saw our little doggy. Second, they had no problem adding tomatoes to a Spicy McCrispy and even had a setting in their computer system to add this. Third, they deliver to your table. Fourth, I'm a big drinker of water so after I have my soda, I get lots of free refills of filtered water which is very convenient. Fifth, they have a big play area full of kids, and one of the kids stopped by our table and played with our little doggy. Sixth, there was nothing wrong with our order and it was delivered quickly. It kind of feels funny writing a review for McDonald's because we don't really expect much from them anyways when we go there, but this experience was extremely strange. When I got there, I paid with cash through the drive-through and the girl had to call a manager to make sure that a $20 bill that I gave them was real so I sat there for like three minutes, waiting for them to figure out if it was real money or not... then when I got to the window to get my food, they were really confused on what was going on because they actually ended up charging me for the wrong order. I had three different people ask me what my order was and I had to tell each one of them separately. The manager (who was a man) was very agitated and was not very polite to the woman who was working the window.. after waiting for another 3 to 4 minutes at that window, I finally got my food, but it was the wrong size that I had ordered.. obviously I did not get ugly or upset with anyone who works there because I think it was just a lack of communication and mistakes do happen, but the manager was insanely rude to not only the staff but me as well. I have come here multiple times assuming they are simply trying to figure things out since they just opened but I won't be back. Each time I try to pay cash. Each time I'm told to go place the order on the kiosk, get a printout and come to the register to wait for someone to help me. This time I was there for 10 minutes with no help except the nice lady delivering out the food. She went multiple times to try to get someone to help me. And I appreciated that. I wish that I could give this Mickey D's more than 2 stars. The employees are polite, the service reasonably brisk (so long as you don't go during the peak times), and the restaurant is clean. However, on every single visit so far, the food's been meh-warm. I mean that sorta-kinda-been under a heat lamp or in a microwave for five seconds lukewarm. The McMuffins, the burgers, the fries. Meh. I don't think McD's does 'fresh' fast food anymore. Which is fine if you take it home and nuke it, but pretty meh when you're there. Sorry McD, but there's a reason that you've been losing business over the years to places like P. Terry's, In n' Out, Five Guys, Wendy's, and Mighty Fine. Pro Tip 1: Be aware that this McD's has a play area and ball pit for the little ones, so it's naturally noisier than your typical restaurant. Pro Tip 2: I'm serious about avoiding peak times. There's only 1 McD's in this area and a lot of hungry construction workers building up the town, so guess where they go for a quick bite at lunch hour? After telling the cashier we wanted both a large fry and a large drink with our large meal, she only put large drink and not large fry. We explained this to her and she sort of shrugged and walked away? So we waited for our food, and once it was ready, we told the manager how we tried to order a large fry. She pointed at the receipt saying it showed medium, and we agreed that yes it does, but that we tried to order a large meal, and that we wanted both a large drink AND fry (because that's how the large meal works). At that point, we volunteered to pay an additional fee for our large fry, but she also shrugged and just gave us a large fry and went back to what she was doing. This shouldn't have been a big deal, hell this shouldn't have been a Yelp review, but it was just absurd to us since we tried to communicate what we wanted, and then what happened, volunteered to pay extra, and then was given fries seemingly to make us just get out of their store. Ordered a mobile order. Super simple. Cheeseburger. Fries. McChicken. Lunchtime. Go thru the drive thru, give them the mobile number at the speaker, as I was instructed to do. Get to the second window and it's they act like they know nothing. Tell me that I should've give the number at the speaker (like I did) and tell me to pull forward. Usually at the the McDonald's in Los Angeles if you try and order ice cream after 6pm you're out of luck because they need to "clean the machines" luckily it's 10pm and I was still able to order a caramel sundae..... super happy. RUDEST CUSTOMER SERVICE. went into the drive thru last night (11.10.19) and there was only a sign stating they were out of the mc rib. The car in front of us has been sitting there for a few minutes and suddenly honked and drove off. My husband and I were confused but did a quick circle around the building to see a sign on the window saying "have a good afternoon" (this was at MIDNIGHT). So we called the store and a lady answered. I asked her if she knew they were losing customers due to the drive through and she said "so what". I questioned her with, "but you're open? 24/7?" She replied telling me that "don't know what the f*** matters and that there was a sign saying they closed at 12 " I told her the only sign said good afternoon. She said "im pretty sure I know what it says b****" and hung up. The other McDonald's on Bell and Whitestone was open. Much better service. Heads up for those ordering from this location: almost once a week for the last 3 months or more, all my orders have missing items and/or incorrect orders all together. I sometimes have to just let it be because of time. Today, 3 missing items. To make things worse, I've gotten bad attitudes from most of the employees when asking for missing items.
