She didn't even let us know that the original person got let go OR introduce herself. It always took a lot more time than it should've to hear back from anyone about anything. In the time I booked it, to the wedding day, they had two rounds of entire staff changes, turnover, what have you. I'm a nurse, so I understand being short-staffed and always having a revolving door, so I didn't really take that "excuse" very well. It's not ideal if you want to be close to a more metropolitan, walkable area, and being right on the creek means there can be quite a few bugs, especially in the evening. The property is distinctly divided into to major buildings...the hotel and the bar. There is a random small building up front also...not sure what that buildings for. There is also outdoor seating, which would be pleasant in the summer. Last night we had freezing temperatures, so sub-optimal for seating outside. When we entered the bar, we felt transported to another place in time. Retro looking furniture at the entry with finger dialed phones...my nieces and nephews would likely not have any idea what these little machines called telephones were. The bar was a mix of old - building built in the 1960s....new - modern mirrors and bar. There was signage at the front of the bar that stated to seat yourself and place your order from the bar (different set up...for sure). We ordered the hummus plate minus pita bread plus more cucumbers. Alan, our server was very accommodating to make that switch. We had herbal hot tea (chamomile and pomegranate berry). We listened to the 3 person band, who sang music from Johnny Cash to Bob Marley and so many different genres in between. What a lovely evening...date night score!

We're both pretty poor planners and were overwhelmed with the idea of planning a wedding for our ~85 guests but Elaine and her team really do make it easy. We went with their all-inclusive package which covers A LOT of the heavy lifting. For anything not included, Kindred Oaks has plenty of recommendations and will keep you accountable to make sure things are getting done. As for the special day itself, no one wanted it to end. Our guests couldn't stop raving how beautiful the whole night was with the twinkle lights, the floral designs and the outdoor vibe in October. 5 out of 5!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE…read more These people almost completely ruined our wedding with a completely nonchalant attitude. This is especially so with Autumn Marks. We had originally placed a deposit for both an outdoor wedding and reception in January 2016 for our wedding in August, and were told that we would be supplied with access to their built in PA system, as well as her assistance day of. We then discovered in March that this venue did not have our caterer on their preferred caterers list, so we requested that we pull out from the reception and just have the ceremony there. That's when the unprofessional nightmare started. She completely disappeared and for two weeks I attempted to call and email Autumn until my wife finally got in contact with her. She told us that we would be refunded the amount of everything but the cost of the ceremony, and a new contract would NOT be needed. She then put us on another hold that lasted a week so she could speak with the owner about our refund. My wife and I then had to go to the venue itself to try to speak to anybody. They were able to supply a refund, but it was only half of the agreed amount. I immediately called Autumn, who reached out to the owner. The owner then came out not knowing we were the people receiving the refund and rudely commented on how we were taking his money as he signed a new check. He then handed it to the accountant who handed it directly to us making him realize who we were. In most cases, this would embarrass someone, but not for this pompous so and so. This angered him and he walked right past us and slammed the door. Fast forward to the two nights before the wedding, in which we were told we could hold a rehearsal. We get to the venue, and the building is completely empty. We stood outside for an hour as I was frantically calling Autumn. She finally called me back and informed me of the following: - Since we pulled out of the reception, we would not have access to their PA system - She would also not be assisting us day of, but would be available to assist for an extra $400 - All that our money was going towards were the space for one hour and their "help" in setting up the chairs In shock, I asked her where was this information reflected, as we did not sign a new contract. She dodged the issue and pretty much said "Good luck on your own." This was quite a bomb to drop two days before the wedding, but the hits didn't stop there. The next day- the day before our wedding- I called to confirm what Autumn had said, and came to find out she had double booked our event. Our wedding was at 2 PM, and she had put us down at 5 PM while a golf tournament lunch was being held at our time. I was then told that the outdoor venue should be available at 2 PM, but from the beginning we were told an indoor venue would be available in case of rain, and since it had been raining all week, we were concerned. My wife and I immediately headed back to the venue, in which the head of services and the owner met us to tell us that: - "You don't know it's going to rain tomorrow" - "You can rent tents for your guests on your own dollar" - "You can use our sister venue" We were never told of a sister venue until that very moment- the day before our wedding- and found that it was much more equipped for a wedding. We then had to reach out to all 100 of our guests and inform them of the venue change- the day before our wedding. Do not do business here.

Autumn Marks, who is the Tournament/Wedding & Events Sales Director for Avery Ranch Golf Club was a pleasure to work with. She was in constant contact with me and was very helpful from the months leading to the celebration till the very end. Autumn was kind enough as to give me more than a couple of tours of the property & provided great suggestions for decoration ideas, table/chair arrangements & dance floor placements that would work best for whatever table setup we chose. Day of our daughters Sweet 16 celebration everything was great. As mentioned before...management & staff were very accommodating & attentive all night. I did want to send a huge amount of gratitude to Luke Marks for going above and beyond to help accommodate the "technical" problem our DJ was having. While our DJ seemed to be clueless for 2 straight hours on how to exactly repair the sound problem he was having, Luke was making ever attempt possible to help figure out any & every possible way to have this problem situated. Only small problem with the dinner we chose wasn't prepared the way it was prepared when we sampled it. But the guests seemed to enjoy the dinner & that's was fine by me. We booked just in time and we were able to actually come in and set up a couple of times so that we had a visual concept (only on Wednesdays). The communication between us and the park was really calming and they were able to almost accommodate all of our request. It is not overly expensive and you are given virtually the entire venue. Our experience was 10/10. Any events such as baby showers, wedding receptions, graduation parties etc, this is your way to go.

However, the AC turns COMPLETELY OFF when the doors are open and takes forever to cool down the room even the least bit. We spent 4 hours in 80+ degree heat due to this dysfunction. If you are planning an event I would recommend you LEAVE THE DOORS LOCKED. Otherwise, beautiful venue, wish I didn't sweat for 4 hours in formal wear, or that this wasn't a venue in Texas.

There's goats, a very talkative black and white cow who would sure love a bath. There's some rusty farm equipment and some carosel horses that have patinaed nicely. There's not a lot there but at least 20 minutes to visit all the things. It's great for photos. Parking is ok. There is a tiny lot so it may fill up fast as there's also a church and the RV rental area.

For something more modern, you could decorate very effectively to suit your own needs. Recently we needed to host a hundred or more persons for a special sports event. We were able to utilize the vast seating area, the kitchen and the parking with no concerns. They are conveniently located to Old Settlers Park where we had our players at, so they could simply come over afterwards (or before hand) when we needed them to. Overall, a good general purpose facility for our needs and probably good for yours as well.
