It's not ideal if you want to be close to a more metropolitan, walkable area, and being right on the creek means there can be quite a few bugs, especially in the evening. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a relaxing, stylish getaway with great food and very comfortable rooms.

In the time I booked it, to the wedding day, they had two rounds of entire staff changes, turnover, what have you. I'm a nurse, so I understand being short-staffed and always having a revolving door, so I didn't really take that "excuse" very well. However, the AC turns COMPLETELY OFF when the doors are open and takes forever to cool down the room even the least bit. We spent 4 hours in 80+ degree heat due to this dysfunction. If you are planning an event I would recommend you LEAVE THE DOORS LOCKED. Otherwise, beautiful venue, wish I didn't sweat for 4 hours in formal wear, or that this wasn't a venue in Texas.

For something more modern, you could decorate very effectively to suit your own needs. Recently we needed to host a hundred or more persons for a special sports event. We were able to utilize the vast seating area, the kitchen and the parking with no concerns. They are conveniently located to Old Settlers Park where we had our players at, so they could simply come over afterwards (or before hand) when we needed them to. We did our due diligence and checked out several other locations but they didn't come close to being as special for us. We're both pretty poor planners and were overwhelmed with the idea of planning a wedding for our ~85 guests but Elaine and her team really do make it easy. We went with their all-inclusive package which covers A LOT of the heavy lifting. For anything not included, Kindred Oaks has plenty of recommendations and will keep you accountable to make sure things are getting done. As for the special day itself, no one wanted it to end. Our guests couldn't stop raving how beautiful the whole night was with the twinkle lights, the floral designs and the outdoor vibe in October. 5 out of 5!

In order to reserve the date, time, and venue rental a $600 deposit was required. The remaining balance/payment was due 5 days before our scheduled event date which was $1737.50. Complete cost we paid $2337.50. Renting the Venue - Barn, Audio System, Tables and Chairs, Tablecloths, full kitchen, 2 restrooms inside, swimming pool, outside bar area, outside smoking area, catering service, dinner clear plastic plates, clear plastic cake plates, clear plastic cups, napkins, clear plastic forks/knifes/spoons, and three clear plastic 5x7x2 to-go container. My friends and family helped take down the decorations, sweep the floors, turn off the music, turn off the lights, and pull the trash cans to the front to be taken outside. We had fewer than 40 people attend the event. A few issues I had during the event. The food was not warm at all. (close to room temperature) The drink station was to be unlimited refills, but once the plastic serving jug was empty it never was refilled. The sweet tea had a sour taste. Lemonade was very sweet. The amount of leftover food there was, and that I paid extra for catering, but was only allowed to pack up 3 small clear plastic to-go containers. I find was not reasonable. The rice wasn't fully cooked, and was not flavored/seasoned. We expected SPANISH rice, and that isn't what we were served. Thank you for allowing us to book our event at The Texas Hall Venue, but if I may be honest, I wouldn't recommend friends and family to use this venue, and I know my husband and I won't be booking any future events because of the experience.

As others have mentioned parking can be a challenge but I was informed that parking garages are nearby. The meeting room is on the second floor and there are stairs and an elevator for easy entry. There is also a patio deck that was perfect for collaborating on a warm sunny spring day. This space can accommodate about 100 or so attendees and there is room for catering. The event coordinator was beyond helpful as we had to change the seating configuration at the last minute. This is a great spot for a mid-sized or smaller event. As a bonus the Main street activity is a brief stroll away.

It's a great place for a medium sized company meeting of 40 or so people. The obvious problem I spotted was that you are relegated to street parking since they only have a handful of spaces in back. Some of the pros I will mention are the fact that they do actually have an elevator off to the side of the building. Upstairs in the Center they do have a full kitchen complete with refrigerator and dishwasher. There is a nice outdoor balcony with additional seating and there are two glass garage doors which can be raised. They have a nice lounge area in the corner along with two bathrooms located behind the kitchen. There is a 6 x 8' flat screen for presentations on the side wall along with a smaller 3 x 4' one on the other wall. They also have plenty of tables and chairs for the event space if you need them. There does seem to be an area which appears to be a stage area, although it only has two plugs, but it does have some effect lighting. As for the cons, I've already mentioned that you will be competing for street parking. The upstairs room itself has no sound deadening material so it gets very loud. No laminate or carpeted flooring, just concrete. Basically, this is just a good acceptable 31/2 star venue to host corporate meetings or quiet remembrances.
