We had a great baby shower here for my daughter in June (2026)! It was a lovely event! ---that's…read morebecause of the work WE put into it!! I'm extremely disappointed because on the day of the event, the coordinator, Stephanie, was not there. Would she have made a difference in the day? Probably not, but I feel it was tacky she wasn't there to oversee the event. The two staff ladies that did work it were great. Very friendly! The event coordinator put it all on them. We ordered pastries and muffins and they were AWFUL. Dry, blah and nothing tasty or pretty. The assorted fruit was pineapple, cantaloupe and honeydew. That was not only bland looking but tasted bland. The bacon was good! ‍Overall, the food was nothing exciting AT ALL. For the amount of money we spent, the food was a D+ at best. Thank god we could bring in our own desserts!! The worst part of this whole event was NO ONE ever contacted us to see how our event was! How were the staff? How was the food? How can we improve? Could we have done anything to make the day better? Etc. etc. ----THAT'S what you do in customer service! A business should follow up. I did try contacting the owners (via googling to find their names), left a message and again, NO RESPONSE. WOW. They took the money and ran!! So, on that note, I will not recommend this place to anyone. The event coordinator was very firm the entire time---you can't do this, you can't do that----and EVERY time I talked with her she repeated herself constantly . She kind of took some of the joy out of it. I took one of my friends to see the place (who was hosting with me!) and Stephanie was cold and not the least bit friendly. Again, very disappointed in her. Day=great!! Daughter= happy and beautiful!! Guests= we had a place full and they enjoyed themselves!! Food=awful Customer service= terrible

Having called MANY other venues before I found Lucas Event Center it was REALLY FRUSTRATING how every single venue that I called & even went to look at in person would NOT budge on the fee at all..NO negotiation..like really!!! Do these venues not know negotiation equals great customer service!!! BUT the owner(Gloria) of Lucas Event Center must know this since she was totally open to negotiation because yes, I want my kids to have an awesome & of course bad-a$$ graduation party BUT I am on a budget & senior year is costly so having Gloria be open to negotiating on the cost is 5+++++++++Stars in my book all day, every day!!! Since sharing is caring :) read below for ALL the reasons why Lucas Event Center is the venue that you'll want to use for your special event or to even use as a work training space.... -Budget Friendly: Open to negotiating on the price & working w/ your budget..THANK YOU Lucas Event Center!! -The venue is very pretty w/ a built in stone bar, wood flooring, & has a built in projector on the ceiling to use for a slideshow or presentation, built in colorful party lights (sorry don't know the correct names of those darn pretty lights), has a built in stage for the DJ, you can also have another stage built if needed. -When you rent the venue this does include tables, chairs, & clean up services after your event (awesome I know) & you have the option of renting the venue only & you doing your own decor, setup, etc but if you don't want to do your own decor, setup, etc Lucas Event Center also does decor..table linens, chair covers, balloon arches, fabric draping on the ceiling & on walls, etc so together w/ Gloria the owner you decide on what your vision is for your event & she will execute it for you..again all budget friendly because you have the option of deciding on what you can do & what you want the venue to do. -Lucas Event Center has 2 spaces you can rent depending on your event size..a smaller room that fits up to 100 people or the bigger space that fits up to 350 OR both spaces can be combined & rented out to have a whole lotttttttttttt of space :), which is what I decided to do even though my party size is for 125 people (at least for now it is ;) -The other event services offered by Lucas Event Center are photography, cakes, balloon arches, balloon columns, etc..... I hope this info is helpful to you the next time you're needing to plan an event because believe me I know the stress of looking for a venue that is nice & pretty but also doesn't cost a whole arm, leg, & even some toes ;)!! So to sum it up I 100%%%%%% recommend Lucas Event Center & can't wait to party like a rockstar come 6/16/2018! -Rebecca out

The booking and planning process was incredibly easy, especially with the client portal. I really appreciated having reminders and convenient links for making payments and purchasing the required event insurance. It made keeping track of everything so much simpler during an already busy time. We decided to keep the décor fairly simple because Garey House and the surrounding grounds are beautiful on their own. We also opted to use several of the décor items Garey House had available, which made it easy to bring our Rapunzel-inspired vision together without having to source everything ourselves. One of the biggest hits with both the teenagers and the adults was the lawn games on the turf area. It gave everyone a chance to get outside, visit, and have fun throughout the party. It was especially nice to have an activity that appealed to different ages. We hired a coordinator from Garey House's recommended list and a caterer from their approved list. Both were great choices. The caterer was especially accommodating with my very picky daughter's meal request, which was such a relief as a mom! Candice was also extremely helpful throughout the planning process. She offered suggestions for the layout that helped us make the most of the space and create a flow that worked well for the party. Overall, Garey House was the perfect setting for such a special milestone. The beautiful venue, easy planning process, helpful staff, and flexibility with our vision made our daughter's Sweet Sixteen a night we will always remember!

See the photos/videos included in this review of the beautiful Garey House grounds. The Garey House makes a beautiful backdrop for photos. The contrast of the stone, wood, and outdoor lighting is perfection! The wedding ceremony was held outside where there is an outdoor pavilion located right in front of a small pond. The setup was simple, yet so elegant. Just an fyi, during the ceremony that there wasn't any shade coverage for the guests in attendance. Thankfully though, the wedding I attended was held in late December (3pm) so our Texas sun wasn't as hot as it is during summer time and the ceremony was short but sweet. A Flower wall was setup outside as well so guests could take photos in front of it and there was a separate area for sit down eating and small area for dancing. Helpful Tidbits: 1.) parking: Garey House is located within a 525-acre park so upon entering the park, you'll come to a booth where the park employee will give you a parking pass to put on your dashboard & also give directions on getting to Garey House. There is plenty of paved parking located right in front of GH so ladies, don't panic about having to walk a long distance in those high heels (you're welcome;) Hope this info helps! Rebecca
