Our world shut down in Texas 3 weeks before our wedding date. I am giving The Union 1 star due to the fact that they were not willing to refund out deposits. I had to cancel my wedding due to Covid-19, as my fiancé's side is all from New York. On April 2nd, 2020, everything, including The Union, shut down. Based on the contract, this should have fallen into Force Majeure, for which I should have received all monies paid. However, I because I decided to hold onto the last large lump sum of my remaining balance, I "broke contract" and they will not be giving my any refund. Thank God I didn't pay the remaining balance because they would have kept that too. To be fair, The Union did offer to let us reschedule the wedding date at not cost, but given the current state of the country and travel restrictions, it's not worth the risk of endangering my loved ones. We would have considered rebooking when/if things got better, but the venue does not hold the same feeling it once did.

The Milestone played the perfect backdrop for our dream wedding. Beautiful, serene, and as hint of magic. There were flowers and fireworks... Literally!!! We selected a package that included dinner and open bar. The food was beautifully prepared a bit I'll admit a bit bland. Our Day of wedding coordinator was possibly overwhelmed with all the moving parts of the day but it came out beautiful. But that might be the most negative thing I could say. Payment options were convenient and cost was reasonable. Really reasonable

For a gorgeous wedding venue, the place was not as tasteful with trash overflowing everywhere. The road leading up to the venue, the overlook of the patio, even the outdoor wedding isle, had trash. In addition, it would have been nice if someone took care of trash the day of the wedding both in the bride and groom suit as trash was an issue. My next issue was that we kept having to ask to dust off tables for setup the morning of the wedding. The timing of the wedding was poorly thought-out as cocktail hour only lasted what felt like 20minutes. The bar started the clock too early which made the night end sooner than planned. No "last call" announcement by the bar or DJ. This made the bride & groom upset. And upon further discussion, the venue did not seem to care and is why I decided to write a review. As part of the wedding party, the communication with this venue always was a problem months before the wedding. Save your money, book somewhere else.

Having worked hundreds of weddings as a coordinator and staffing specialist, I was very excited…read moreabout this working at this new venue. It's location is a stretch but the architecture and scenery is beautiful BUT beauty does not make up for personality. The lady in charge, site manager - Tina was just awful from start to end. She did not return calls, was defensive about every single question or concern and was right out rude from planning to the day of. I have no earthly clue why the owner would want someone with that sort of attitude promoting weddings and events. I will never ever coordinate or work a wedding there again after my experience with her last weekend. She was horrifically mean spirited, rude and furious and just about verbally assaulted anyone she spoke with on the day of the wedding I coordinated there. I did everything I could to change her tune, make her happy and just keep the bride and groom sheltered from her grotesque nature. She was in my face all night complaining constantly about very silly things such as 'diapers being in her trash cans', 'cups being left in the bridal suite' and even told me that the attendees and wedding party were 'trashy and disgusting'. This party was calm, respectful, fun loving and also friends of mine. Speaking about your clients that was is just unheard of. For those of us in the industry - weddings can be stressful enough on a couple, having a coordinator and good vendors make all the difference on creating a fun and memorable day for them. But when you have someone like Tina parading around during their wedding complaining and threatening charges on every single mishap- it can really cause a bad vibe. I am not one to get angry easily but her raising her voice, yelling at me over the tiniest and silliest things I was just in awe of how angry this woman must live her life. I stayed 3 hours after I was paid to help her out and clean up every tiny piece of trash while she sat and pointed/complained. And then she complained some more that it was taking me too long. I showed up early on in the day to get set up and introduce myself and her response was "You need to leave my venue and sit outside and wait until 2pm, I have a life you know". Woah. That woman has no business booking weddings, taking care of that venue or even being in any sort of sales/personnel business. She was just awful, so much so I wanted to let others know to STAY AWAY from this mess. Don't spend your wedding fighting with her, dealing with her drama on your big day - it can sincerely ruin the vibe. Do not let the beauty of the home (venue) detour you. There are hundreds of venues in the greater Austin area. Avoid this one like the plague, unless they fire Tina. She claims to be best friends with the owner so that is unlikely to happen anytime soon... Good luck Villa on Lake Georgetown, your reviews online and verbally are horrific due to one bad apple. This business is not going to succeed at all. After my experience, and not really wanting to 'bash' anyone- this all had to be said to save prospective brides from booking with her disastrous attitude and way of operating this place!

The food was genuinely excellent, and the service was warm and attentive throughout. The bed was also a standout -- more comfortable than what I've experienced at most four-star hotels. I also loved the in-room Nespresso machine, which was a great touch. The only drawbacks are the location and setting. It's not ideal if you want to be close to a more metropolitan, walkable area, and being right on the creek means there can be quite a few bugs, especially in the evening. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a relaxing, stylish getaway with great food and very comfortable rooms.

This charming, quaint boutique hotel is located in a residential neighborhood in Round Rock, TX. The Ruby Hotel & Bar is situated along Brushy Creek in historic downtown Round Rock. The hotel has 39 uniquely designed rooms and suites, in the suburbs of Austin, TX. The hotel blends mid-century modern design with natural surroundings, creating a chic vibe. The property is distinctly divided into to major buildings...the hotel and the bar. There is a random small building up front also...not sure what that buildings for. There is also outdoor seating, which would be pleasant in the summer. Last night we had freezing temperatures, so sub-optimal for seating outside. When we entered the bar, we felt transported to another place in time. Retro looking furniture at the entry with finger dialed phones...my nieces and nephews would likely not have any idea what these little machines called telephones were. The bar was a mix of old - building built in the 1960s....new - modern mirrors and bar. There was signage at the front of the bar that stated to seat yourself and place your order from the bar (different set up...for sure). We ordered the hummus plate minus pita bread plus more cucumbers. Alan, our server was very accommodating to make that switch. We had herbal hot tea (chamomile and pomegranate berry). We listened to the 3 person band, who sang music from Johnny Cash to Bob Marley and so many different genres in between. What a lovely evening...date night score!

My husband and I are already interested after one visit in checking out pricing for possibly renting out the space for an event of our own. The bathrooms are gender neutral BUT when you go in there the different stall doors have only one label, guys or gals, on the door which is very confusing to people entering the bathroom or waiting for stalls and thinking maybe the guys labeled stall only has a urinal or something but they're all the same toilet. It has a very classy, purposefully dated look but was extremely cleaned and well maintained. They also have free guest Wi-Fi. The cocktails are a little pricey for the area, but the venue space and the quality of the drinks were well worth the price. They actually have a quite expansive menu of drink options as well. Definitely needs more seating options for the drink window area if they plan on having more open hours days for people to randomly come in and enjoy a specially crafted drink. I can't wait to see what this place turns into!

There are two different ways to talk about this place... as a country club and as a golf course…read more Let's start with the latter. Let's be real, GCC is never going to host a US Open qualifier. But now that that's out of the way, my advice is to take this place for what it is instead of complaining about what it is not. It is NOT a super long or super challenging course. It IS a beautiful, old school golf course that is well maintained and cleverly laid out. The course was built in 1925 so many of the fairways are pretty narrow. If you're used to just bombing away, slices be damned... you won't play very well here. But if you enjoy figuring out tricky approaches and aren't intimidated by hilly lies, there's plenty here to keep even the best players engaged. What about the club? Same principle applies. Take it for what it is, not what it is not. The club itself is NOT a place where you'll see Teslas and Ferraris in the parking lot. And you're probably not going to find investors for your new startup here. But you ARE going to find great people and a tight little community. The bar is busy most nights and the food is good. If you've been a member at any golf clubs, you know that these are not things to be taken for granted. The tennis community is active and the club is very friendly towards children and families. Basically, this might be the perfect country club for people who never thought they would want to join a country club. If that's you, you'll love it! If not, you've got plenty of other great choices.
