It's not ideal if you want to be close to a more metropolitan, walkable area, and being right on the creek means there can be quite a few bugs, especially in the evening. The property is distinctly divided into to major buildings...the hotel and the bar. There is a random small building up front also...not sure what that buildings for. There is also outdoor seating, which would be pleasant in the summer. Last night we had freezing temperatures, so sub-optimal for seating outside. When we entered the bar, we felt transported to another place in time. Retro looking furniture at the entry with finger dialed phones...my nieces and nephews would likely not have any idea what these little machines called telephones were. The bar was a mix of old - building built in the 1960s....new - modern mirrors and bar. There was signage at the front of the bar that stated to seat yourself and place your order from the bar (different set up...for sure). We ordered the hummus plate minus pita bread plus more cucumbers. Alan, our server was very accommodating to make that switch. We had herbal hot tea (chamomile and pomegranate berry). We listened to the 3 person band, who sang music from Johnny Cash to Bob Marley and so many different genres in between. What a lovely evening...date night score!

However, the AC turns COMPLETELY OFF when the doors are open and takes forever to cool down the room even the least bit. We spent 4 hours in 80+ degree heat due to this dysfunction. They are conveniently located to Old Settlers Park where we had our players at, so they could simply come over afterwards (or before hand) when we needed them to. We went with their all-inclusive package which covers A LOT of the heavy lifting. For anything not included, Kindred Oaks has plenty of recommendations and will keep you accountable to make sure things are getting done. As for the special day itself, no one wanted it to end. Decorations…read moreand Set Up @ 2:30 pm Dinner @5pm Cake @6pm Clean up and Take Down @ 6:30 pm-7:15 pm All guests and hosts left the venue at @7:30 pm *Start to finish including setting up, take down, and clean up 5 hours* Contract Event Time: 3pm - 10pm (Rent Venue for 7 hours) Scheduled a tour and fell in love with the location, inside barn, plenty of space, AC inside the barn and completely closed so doesn't matter what the weather is the day of your event. In order to reserve the date, time, and venue rental a $600 deposit was required. The remaining balance/payment was due 5 days before our scheduled event date which was $1737.50. Complete cost we paid $2337.50. Renting the Venue - Barn, Audio System, Tables and Chairs, Tablecloths, full kitchen, 2 restrooms inside, swimming pool, outside bar area, outside smoking area, catering service, dinner clear plastic plates, clear plastic cake plates, clear plastic cups, napkins, clear plastic forks/knifes/spoons, and three clear plastic 5x7x2 to-go container. My friends and family helped take down the decorations, sweep the floors, turn off the music, turn off the lights, and pull the trash cans to the front to be taken outside. We had fewer than 40 people attend the event. A few issues I had during the event. The food was not warm at all. (close to room temperature) The drink station was to be unlimited refills, but once the plastic serving jug was empty it never was refilled. The sweet tea had a sour taste. Lemonade was very sweet. The amount of leftover food there was, and that I paid extra for catering, but was only allowed to pack up 3 small clear plastic to-go containers. I find was not reasonable. The rice wasn't fully cooked, and was not flavored/seasoned. We expected SPANISH rice, and that isn't what we were served. Thank you for allowing us to book our event at The Texas Hall Venue, but if I may be honest, I wouldn't recommend friends and family to use this venue, and I know my husband and I won't be booking any future events because of the experience.
