The space is truly beautiful and the ability to use both levels indoors for the reception as well as the outdoor space for the ceremony allowed us significant variety with the venue giving us the ability to have our guests be entertained while also having so many fantastic spaces to really strut our decor. As expected, it also provided innumerable photo opportunities. Keeping guests shuffling from place to place was great for alleviating the oh so common uncertainty of where to be/what to do at weddings, while allowing for the progression of events throughout the evening. The dance floor upstairs is amazing for entertaining and allows for guests to maximally view the first dance/parent-child dance (as well as guests dancing themselves!). The outdoor space needed little decoration due to the well-cultivated plant life and the seats outside the gazebo comfortably provided seating for everyone. Our day-of experience was wonderful! For the day-of festivities, Simeon (previously site manager and now owner) was very responsive, helpful, and engaging - often rushing to see to any need we had and trying to anticipate our needs as well. The only challenging parts of our experience were related to communication (or lack thereof) with Simeon. While initially he was congenial, responsive and very helpful, the intervening months between booking and our big day was very frustrating at times. One of the major issues was lack of communication. While running a venue is no doubt hard work and time consuming, so often we did not receive any response to vital questions about the space, the amenities, and supplies available for up to a month at a time. The lack of response became so dire we had to reach out through our caterer to try and get a response to some very basic questions. There was also another difficulty that arose that made us feel very uncomfortable. When discussing our wedding with Simeon, we mentioned we were having a Jewish-gay ceremony. Simeon came to us later and asked if his house photographer could take some images of our wedding for promotional materials. We accepted this, but asked that we have access to those images as well. Simeon responded implying that we had misunderstood and that he wanted access to our photographers images for his use (despite clear communication via e-mail). We declined this. He responded that he would just take images himself with his cell phone for his own use. This felt very invasive and made us feel as though our ceremony was a marketing ploy for him which felt rather offensive and disrespectful. This was never truly rectified and we do not know if he was surreptitiously taking images of our ceremony. Simeon's behavior throughout the rest of the day-of was very helpful and attentive. The Meadows Event Center is beautiful and offers so many wonderful photo and entertaining opportunities but we would suggest being direct and very clear with all requests and doing so in writing. And make sure that all of your questions are answered at booking (or before if possible).

She said all was okay so I went ahead and delivered it the next day and went to set it up and the exact information that I had given her she did not listen to it all and was very upset and that it wasn't the way she wanted it to be. She then was very rude to me and was not organized at all and looked very flustered. It may look good from the customer side but from behind the scenes she is a very unprofessional and rude person. Being in the service industry I find it incredibly upsetting that she talks down and is rude to other service people. She and her chef took our ideas for the menu and venue and ran with them. Her team helped us get the space set up in a very tight window (30 minutes!) and took delivery of linens, flowers, oven, etc. They were also perfect working the event and clean up. Wanted to break the contract when I asked simple simple questions. Such as when could a tasting be set up? He caters to the venue so...it's putting all eggs into one poorly made basket. When I tried to get my deposit back from him once it was decided it wasn't happening...he wouldn't set a time to meet. He wanted a home address to send a check(over two hundred dollars, probably would bounce, who knows if it would get sent this year or on his end he could just say...it got lost in the mail). He wouldn't show respect at all. He didn't treat this as a business but rather as a piggy bank for himself. Getting a hold of him was near impossible for over a month. Literally everything was horrible. The price lures you in. Don't be fooled. It's not worth the back stepping to the beginning of planning. Users beware. He outright said, he doesn't know what charger plates are and he's never heard of food options for guests on invites. Nor does he think people she cater to guests wants. Just get what your craving. He said everyone has a preference. But we shouldn't worry even a little. Such as a vegetarian and meat option both. I can't say enough what a nightmare this has been and until I get a refund back, still is.

I had the pleasure to work with Kathleen Berry to throw a surprise bday party for my partner and boy was he thrilled and oh so surprised! I secured velvet ropes and stanchions for the entrance, round tables for people to congregate (and boy did they), a beautiful standing wooden backdrop with faux greenery for photo Ops and a table with depth that accommodated ice and beverages (this touch alone really elevated the event). The RC Events staff delivers and picks up the the equipment as well so no need to rent a truck or recruit friends to help move things. A+ experience all the way around. Heather forces her clients to use vendors that are not the best, but provide her with money back for booking with them. She receives all kinds of gifts from bands, rentals and even flower shops in the form of paid trips and actual cash. She receives massive kickbacks from her rental company that she keeps rather than giving that discount to her clients. The volume of unethical behavior from this company is insane and I'm so glad I found all of this out prior to booking my wedding with her. My advice, find a company that understands ethical business practices and book with them. Because with Heather, you'll pay her $25k for rentals and she'll walk away with $5k of it for her own pocket. But, she will try and charge you a percentage of the cost of the entire wedding as her fee while increasing the costs of these vendors to double dip. I bet if you ask any of the people that used her services listed on this website, they'll all tell you that budgets were blown way out of proportion because that's just how it is. Nope! You paid for Heather to live in Boulder and pretend like a big shot around town. If I were any of you, I would demand my money back. To people looking to book with this company, beware, you will pay a hefty overage just to support the owner. Find anyone else and make sure they don't have "preferred" vendors as she likes to state.

The front range view, the beautiful landscaping, and the indoor rustic reception site were marvelous. From all of the wedding details, we probably received the most compliments on how gorgeous our venue was, so you cannot go wrong. It helped so much to have so many elements included and taken care of- coordinator, tables and chairs, table cloths, napkins, bartender, servers, the arch, and many of the decorations. I didn't even feel the need to have a florist included in the day because of the landscaping and natural elements that were already part of Shupe. That helped a ton! The reception area fit everyone easily and no one was crowded. There were areas for guests to explore and it's definitely a cute farm. The only tricky part was finding the venue as it's fairly secluded, but it was thankfully labeled well!
