I deal with a lot of vendors and I knew my same-day request (on a Saturday no less) would probably be met with cranky "not possible in the timeline" responses. Instead, I met Jolene on the other end of the phone. What a warm and positive person! She immediately took on my problems with grace and alacrity. She not only solved the heaters and blanket asks but also added so many details that I would never have thought of. Baskets to hold the blankets. Blankets tied with twine. Additional black napkins in case someone was wearing a dark outfit. Found local wines and beers. Just extremely thoughtful in everything she did. My event was not big or expensive. I'm from out of town so I'm probably not a repeat client (wish I could be!). And I had a very last minute weekend request. And Jolene pulled through 110%. They were not the cheapest vendor, but their price is competitive and worth a little extra for the quality, and they helped design our menu to work for our budget. Their crew on wedding day was absolutely lights out!! They of course did an awesome job with all the normal food stuff, but they were also extremely helpful in serving the dessert and late night pizza that we'd ordered from a different vendor. They also did a ton that I'd have thought the venue was responsible for, but they helped regardless. On top of all that, everything was perfectly organized on the day of. There were no issues that came up because they had thought of everything in advance, making for a less stressful day. I'm really hoping this is the only time I get married, so tough to say I'd use them again, but I'd highly recommend them and if doing a different event would certainly hire them.

Mom's dutch, so wanted to send her tulips, but wanted them to feel exotic and fresh. They sent gorgeous french tulips. They were tall & vibrant in a large, simple pitcher I know she'll reuse. Mom was thrilled. I arranged for them to be delivered a couple days before Mother's day so she could enjoy them all weekend. Mom usually calls me right away when she receives something, but this time she took a photo and emailed me, but didn't get around to sending it till the next day. So they were in fact delivered on time but I thought they hadn't been and didn't want to call her & ruin the surprise if they were just running behind. Brighter Day confirmed they'd been delivered when I phoned and were super nice about me calling to check on them, and even called a couple days later to make sure everything was ok and she received the flowers. They then called my mom a couple days later to make sure she enjoyed the flowers. I've never heard of such a thing. I've never had a follow up call from a florist in my life. I was very impressed and will certainly call upon them next time I send flowers anywhere in Boulder.

I surprised my lady friend by leaving the sports bar we were at (and not finishing the football games we were watching... painful, but it was worth it) and walking one block over to Posh for a night of drinking and painting. She LOVED it, and we both had a blast drinking wine and attempting to paint the Telluride Valley. We got there a bit early and were the first ones in, we picked our seats and then the owner, Chelsey, got us our paint and offered us a drink. The beer and wine by the glass is only $3.25 which is great, or you can buy a bottle of wine for $13, we opted for the bottle. People started trickling in and the actual instruction started a little bit later than the posted time. Chelsey is great, she makes it easy to follow along, she plays music and dances around her studio while she's waiting for the students to catch up to her and she will help you achieve your vision of how your painting should look. The way it works is she goes step by step, explains how to do each step as simply as possible and then gives you time to complete that step. The outcome is that everyone is having a great time, each person has a similar but very unique painting and at the end of all of it you have an awesome, out of the ordinary night out on the town and a nice canvass painting to bring home. You have to go check this place out!

3 1/2 stars. For our first visit at PoshSplat, my daughter…read moreand I went for "independent studio time" since they did not have any public class during the day on a Friday. We've been to other studios to paint following an instructor, and it was always a lot of fun. This place has a great selection of paintings you can choose from, and then you just copy the one you select, or just do your own. The lady who was in charge of the place that day was friendly, but both my daughter and I very quickly understood that it was better not to change the water where you clean your brushes, or ask for another paper plate (that you use as a palette.) When my daughter asked where she could change her muddy water, she was told that she really did not need to, as the paint should get to the bottom of the pot and the brush would get clean if it stays on the surface. We looked at each other, quite surprised. After a while, I really needed to get some clean water and was told that the lady would do it for me as there is no available sink for the clients. Looking at the paint stains in the bathroom, I doubt this advice is followed by most, but I understand that they want to protect their plumbing and the environment. So after that, since we did not want to bother her, we just painted with brown water (and my daughter never changed hers.) I wonder what happens when an entire class (about 20 people) is asking at some point for fresh water.... I never had that issue at other places, and this was a big surprise and disappointment (that and the fact that you are uncomfortable asking for another paper plate.) I get that they don't want to waste, but you have to keep it reasonable. In the end, we've decided that when we want to paint again, we'll go back to Whimsy in Westminster, where they have a sink in the studio for the clients to use freely, where they give you whatever you need to paint comfortably, and where parking if free and easy. If you want to stay in Boulder though, it's always fun to do one of these session. Drink an extra glass of wine and you won't even bother about rinsing your brushes. Now that's a thought, maybe I should try that next time!

Our daughter and now-SIL worked with Colorado Commitments for their mountain wedding in October…read more2023. They were wonderful! On a snowy day Reverend Kristen Hepp and the photographer, Sharon, ran into travel difficulties, but kept us informed. When they arrived (with gorgeous flowers!) the two of them gently and firmly cleared the chaos, offered options, got the pre-ceremony photos done, and whoosh! It was underway. Rev. Hepp's guidance thru the ceremony was traditional and modern, touching and sweet, compassionate and caring. We could see how much she loves translating a couple's commitment into permanence. Post ceremony photos then went off without a hitch - Sharon graciously both directing and accommodating the many permutations of family and friend photographs. Everyone is in there somewhere! Kristen and Sharon then moved all the relevant pieces and people together for the champagne toast and cake cutting. And the cake~ooooh. Colorado Commitments uses long-term baker and the cake was fantastic! Moist and flavorful. Perfect. All in all, a marriage celebration brought to fruition through the excellent offices of Colorado Committments -- which we highly recommend.

I really hoped I would never feel the need to write this review, but based on both our planning…read moreexperience and what happened after our wedding, I cannot recommend Ivory Events. We paid $6,000 for full-service planning of a large, complex wedding with 200+ guests, ~30 vendors, multiple venues, transportation, cultural ceremonies, and live food stations. We paid 50% upfront and ultimately paid the full contracted amount even though we ended the relationship more than 2 1/2 months before the wedding. Our concerns began only a few months into planning. We raised them in fall 2025, things improved temporarily, and then similar issues resurfaced. My mom and I repeatedly had to follow up, correct information, and often handle planning work ourselves. We received incorrect vendor communications and were copied on emails relating to other clients' weddings. When incorrect information was sent to one vendor, Ivory told us the employee acted "without authorization," called it a "serious breach of our standards," and said she was no longer with the team. We had not asked for anyone to be fired and actually felt terrible about that. Our concern was how the mistake reached the vendor and what would prevent it from happening again. Vendor sourcing also required repeated follow-up, and several times I ultimately found vendors myself because recommendations were taking too long. Of the three Ivory-recommended vendors we hired, two were among the most difficult vendors we worked with; our photographer was excellent. We also experienced email threads where follow-ups did not appear to account for information already discussed. When we raised this, part of the explanation was that my mom and I were also communicating with vendors, even though there were situations where we stepped in because the communication already needed clarification. We were reassured that budgets, tracking sheets, vendor details, and timelines were carefully organized, while I was personally centralizing contracts and vendor information and knew there were still gaps. Budget was another major concern. I raised it early, and we had been told our ~$150,000 budget was workable. As costs increased, I felt I received more reassurance about stress/anxiety than concrete budget tracking and overage discussions. By the time we terminated, we were significantly over budget. The timeline became a final breaking point. We had to ask and follow up for it, and it contained gaps, inconsistencies, placeholders, and missing logistics. The initial response emphasized prior conversations, recordings, and transcripts. After reviewing it, Ivory acknowledged a technical issue with Timeline Genius and said it was correcting errors and missing vendor/transportation information. We terminated Ivory more than 2 1/2 months before the wedding, and Ivory acknowledged it in writing. Another planner handled the remaining planning and executed our wedding beautifully. Afterward, Ivory publicly stated it had planned our wedding "almost to the end." Its Marketing Coordinator later contacted our photographer requesting our completed gallery to "feature and submit [it] to several publications." Neither my husband nor I was included. Our contract stated permission would be sought before publishing personal photos. Our photographer contacted us first, and we instructed him not to share it. Correspondence later characterized the request as an "inadvertent oversight." Any one mistake can happen. What ultimately caused us to lose confidence was the cumulative pattern and how the issues were handled. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Ivory Events.

Hiring Ivory Events was easily the most stressful part of our wedding planning. Over six months, we…read moresuffered from severe communication breakdowns, constant staff shuffling without notice, and zero respect for our schedules--including being offered 6:00 AM meeting times despite providing clear availability. We had to constantly chase them down just to schedule our 30-day walkthrough. Less than 10 days before our wedding, we still had no timeline draft. When it finally arrived, it was essentially blank, misspelled our last name, and forced us to do the heavy lifting with information they already had in their portal. On top of that, a different coordinator than the one we had been working with showed up to direct our rehearsal with zero prior notice. While the day-of setup went okay, the night ended on an incredibly unprofessional note when an assistant coordinator cornered the groom's father to state that "this is usually the time in the night that we get tipped," putting him on the spot. Ivory has since dealt with this employee, but it demonstrates that they have little to no vetting for day-of coordination staff. Ivory Events made us feel like an afterthought and forced us to do the job we paid them for. Every other vendor we hired was fantastic--save yourself the headache and book elsewhere.
