First time visiting Nosh. Staff was friendly and helpful. Restaurant is small and cozy. We had to move tables because of the very loud and obnoxious "Ladies Night" group seating next to us. They were in competition with each other to see who could talk the loudest. The staff apologized for the behavior, but it was not their fault, it was the group's fault. I had the lentil soup for appetizer based on recommendation from out waitress, She was right, it was very tasty. My wife had the fish and chips (halibut). Very light and flaky fish. The fries were tasty and hot, they had an incredible flavor mix over the top, very tasty. I had the Fish tacos (halibut). Again very light and flaky. The green goddess sauce was a new flavor for me. A modern eatery across the street from the Siuslaw River. The salmon was cooked well and served in an inoffensive cream sauce that offered a hint of spice. The donut holes were crispy and lighter than a typical cake donut, with enough cinnamon to still be found under the marrionberry sauce if you look for it. We decided to get our order to go. We're staying at an AirBnB across the street. Service was pretty fast, 15 minutes and the order was ready to go. They packed everything in a recyclable paper bag. By the time we arrive to our place, across the street the food was still hot. We ordered the macaroni and cheese with a side of pork verde, halibut and chips and an order of donut holes with raspberry jelly. We started munching on the donut holes. They are best when eaten hot. They were perfectly fried and tossed in cinnamon sugar. The outside had a nice crunch and the inside was warm and moist. Almost cake consistency. When dipped in the raspberry jelly...to die for. What a beautiful combination. The halibut was huge. They gave us very generous portions, three pieces to be exact. Light and flaky crust, with hot flaky halibut cooked to perfection. A little oil on the fingers from the fryer but nothing notable. Their version of tarter sauce was next level. It would take me some time to put into words the taste. You'll have to try it yourself, soooooo good. Served with crispy fries. The macaroni and cheese was creamy creamy creamy. My first bite was a sharp cheddar forward bite. Not sure what kind of noodles but they weren't your regular noodles. The pork verde was flavorful with a nice little kick. We chose to get it on the side so we could enjoy the full flavor for the Mac & cheese. Overall, this is an excellent eatery delivering a fantastic culinary experience. read more

Stopped in for lunch around 11:30 on a Wednesday. Not too busy. It is located in Old Town, so only street parking is available. We were greeted as we walked in and invited to sit wherever we wanted. We picked the 2-top table in the front window. It had a nice view of the Siuslaw Bridge. Our server, Lindsay, was super friendly, helpful, and attentive. She made suggestions from the menu and let us know the soup of the day was fresh tomato, and the special was house-made salmon cakes. My husband chose the special and soup of the day. I decided on the sesame ginger halibut steak. Everything was really yummy! I'm not a huge kale fan, but the sautéed kale and shallots were delicious on top of the halibut steak, and the bed of coconut rice was the perfect accompaniment. My hubby really liked his, too. Salmon was fresh, and the tomato soup was outstanding! Overall, it was a wonderful first visit. Service was great, and food delicious. We'll definitely return. read more

Since my wife and I never got seated, I can't speak to the food. We stood for about ten minutes with several tables open and people coming after us getting not just seated but having their drink order taken. It was like a two person group wasn't worth their bother. I can't remember the last time a restaurant said, "be right with you " then totally ignored me and served people who were clearly after me in line. After not being able to attend another restaurant because of our party being too big, we turned our attention to Nosh Eatery. One of the best decisions I've ever made in my whole life. This place is the definition of a whole vibe! My 8 person party was sat IMMEDIATELY at their very gorgeous bar. Their bartender was extremely fast, accurate, and extremely charismatic. We really appreciated you and your attentiveness! Not to mention, their cocktail menu was outstanding. I ordered their Oregon Berry Lemon Drop & the raw sugar rim sent me to the stars! So delicious. All 8 of us ordered something different from their menu, each dish they blew out of the park! Portions were perfect for what you pay for, I will say they do not skimp!! We started off with bread and butter and Cheese Curds. Literally their cheese curds taste like if Cheetos were hot and gooey in the middle I ordered their seafood platter and their take on fish & chips was soooo tasty. Good things - the halibut fish and chips were amazing. The remolaude was tasty. Coleslaw was bland (pep up it up people!). They have an option for gluten free fish and chips on the menu - I ordered it because I cannot tolerate gluten. However, it came atop a bed of coated French fries and (assuming) the same shared fryer as the regular stuff. I appreciate that they gave the GF batter, but using a shared fryer and over coated fries undoes any "gluten free" designation. Since we ordered it to go, I couldn't return the items or ask for a swap in sides. That was an expensive mistake on my part. Service was friendly, albeit slow. Nosh Eatery is a cute little restaurant right on the coast of Florence. They have options for all (vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and meat options) which is always a plus when going out to eat with different diets! It's a small restaurant in the heart of the little busy and touristy part of Florence. Seating is minimal inside and outside. Very bright and clean with big windows to look outside. Now for my favorite part of the review - the food! I ordered the Kungpao Cauliflower and rice which honestly could be a meal for 2 people. It was full of flavor and crunchy goodness on top of a fluffy bed of coconut rice. I will definitely be ordering again next time we visit the area. My husband and grandpa both ordered the brussel sprout tacos which comes with 3 tacos and a side of fries. I couldn't resist trying one of their tacos and they were absolutely delicious! Nice modern looking cafe style restaurant on the main drag in downtown Florence. First time I stopped in here, for lunch, and I definitely will be back. The service was impeccable. Friendly, fast, willing to make adaptations for my food-challenged friend. I had the Nosh Salad which was awesome: super fresh greens with plump blueberries and grapes and goat cheese. With a wonderful dressing! My friend had the cauliflower steak with Brussel sprouts, but without the blue cheese and with fries instead of mashed potatoes. I think they did a wonderful job with one of the main flavors missing (blue cheese) . Fries were crispy and hot too. Good selection here for Vegans and Vegetarians as well as for me, an Omnivore. This looks like a newer spot on the street. People there were super friendly and kind, letting us take our time deciding. Their menu has a variety of seafood and more fried food options. We enjoyed the Fried Cheese Curds with a super delicious Goddess Dressing. My partner's Calamari and Chips were piping hot and crispy. While my Salmon Plate came with a big piece of fresh and flaky salmon on top of a bed of mashed potatoes. The use of sweet chilli cream sauce was new to me; very interesting and nice. I'd have liked a few more elements to the salmon plate, maybe half the mash and add some roasted vegetables to provide a more well-rounded dish. We are always on the lookout for a restaurant that will satisfy both a vegetarian and carnivore when we travel and Nosh hit the spot! They appeared a little understaffed (one host/waitperson) but despite a short wait to be seated and for service, it wasn't bad. As a vegetarian, I am used to only having one or maybe two choices but I had a difficult time deciding among four or five choices! Finally went with the cauliflower steak with garlic fried Brussel sprouts, smoky Bleu cheese, crispy onion straws served on a Yukon mash. I'm not a huge Bleu cheese fan but with this dish, it leant just enough flavor to make it work. Very filling! Husband had the Korean bbq ribs - tender and juicy with just a bit of a kick. We come to Florence every year and finally tried this place! It was worth it. We stopped in for a late lunch on a Wednesday and all the tables outside were taken. So, we sat inside. The inside seating was comfortable and it wasn't too warm in there. We had the fish tacos and the mac and cheese. We started with the fried cheese curds. Those were very tasty and not too heavily battered. The cheese was melted just right and was nice and warm. The fish tacos with halibut were great, but, we thought they'd be fried, not grilled. Still good, but, assumed fried and it wasn't listed. The french fries were good but a little limp, aka, oily. The mac and cheese was amazing! So creamy and cheesy. Just had the basic with no ad-ins, but, still awesome. Even the next day it was great since the lunch portion was so big. Highly recommend and we hope to try again before we leave. read more

My partner and I were pretty hungry when we searched for a fish and chips spot in Florence and it's a good thing our appetites were whetted because once we got started we wanted to eat everything on the menu. He had the rockfish and chips and I had the calamari and chips. Both came with coke slaw and caper remoulade. He had the dragonfruit happy mountain kombucha to drink and I had the marionberry lemonade. We each had a slice of the excellent goat cheese cheesecake topped with marionberry jam. Every bite was perfect. The portions were very generous. The prices were great. Our waiter was friendly, had a great sense of humor and welcoming smile, was quick to assess and meet our needs, and was every bit as good as the food and the food was stellar. We got to Florence, Oregon around 8 p.m. Most of the eateries were closing at 9 p.m. So we decided to do take out instead of sit in. Nosh was highly rated in Yelp and it was a 2 minutes walk from our AIRBNB. We ordered roasted veggie and presto mac & cheese, pan seared halibut, and pot roast. The sides were sautéed kale, coconut rice, mashed potato, and house salad. The proteins were seasoned perfectly and tender. The sides were very tasty. Prices were reasonable for a tourist town. How this place isn't at the top of more lists is beyond us. We stopped here for lunch on our road trip up the coast and really enjoyed everything we had. The service was fantastic and although they were busy, wait times were less than we were expecting. My wife had the rockfish tacos and a salad. They were excellent! The fish was cooked perfectly and they were really big. She took one with us to eat later. I had the miso seared albacore tuna with rice and kale. My wife was shocked I ordered something with kale and truth be told I was already picking it out and setting it aside in my mind. I tried it when the dish arrived and it was great. The kale, rice and tuna were cooked to perfection. There was none left. I had ordered the fr'achos which are green chile pork, tillamook cheese on french fries. As much as we enjoyed our main dishes, we loved this dish the most. The pork had great flavor and everything complimented each other. Well worth ordering. My wife decided to order dessert. I didn't think we would be able to eat it but I was wrong again. She ordered the donut holes with marionberry jam/compote. Wow! They were great, cake donut style balls of deliciousness. The marionberry sauce was not super sweet and worked so well. Overall this is a place we will be recommending to people anytime they ask about where to eat in Florence. read more
