Dr. Keats is absolutely the best eye doctor I have ever seen! His exam was very thorough and after the eye test, he was able to put lenses together to show me what my new prescription would be like. That alone was amazing to me since I have had to have glasses remade and prescriptions adjusted a few times at other places. I've also never had so much insight into my condition and how to manage it. From the exam to the education to the choosing of glasses, this place is just excellent! Highly recommend! So thankful to have found them! read more

Efficient, informative and welcoming. From parking to payment my first experience with NV was very simple. When making the appointment they took an extra moment to source my policy - saving me the effort. The tech and physician were efficient but still engaging and provided a very accurate Rx for my contacts and glasses. In and out and better off for it. read more

this was my first ever visit to an eye doctor and although I had to get my eyes dilated, it was an overall pleasurable experience. Dr. Keats is very witty and knowledgeable and his staff is super helpful and kind. there's a great selection of eyewear as well; I'm a 22 year old female so a stylish pair is important to me. it's so rare to find a doctors office that runs smoothly 100% so I'm glad I did read more

Northwood Vision - obsessed with my eyeglass case - Optometrists Near Me - Clearwater, Florida

I had a fine experience here during my initial eye exam and appointment. However, I had an appointment to pick up my glasses. I am a new mom of an infant and just started back at work. I work with critically ill patients in a hospital and was running behind. So I called 2 times to let them know and no one answered the phone so I left a message asking if I needed to reschedule since I was late. I decided since all I needed to do was pick up my glasses I would still just run by. I walked in and was immediately apologetic and explained that I called and left a message. The woman at the front desk promptly replied, "you will need to wait a while as the person before you actually showed up." First of all, I just needed a person to hand me the glasses I paid for. Secondly, as someone who works with patients I found this exceptionally condescending and unnecessary. While I think this practice is a fine place to have your vision evaluated I won't be returning. This customer service or lack there of is unacceptable to me. read more

Dr. Keats is amazing! I wasn't sure where to begin with my daughter (5 years old) and having headaches everyday. She can be very reluctant with doctors but Dr. Keats made her feel so comfortable and performed an extremely thorough exam. I'm so thankful for the entire staff at Northwood Vision!! read more

From what I understand, Dr. Keats purchased this practice within the last couple years. So the negative reviews may be a different staff. I have had extremely positive experiences with this office and the doctor for the last year and a half. The doctor is sincerely kind and informative. I felt like his examinations were very thorough. He offered me more extensive examinations but didn't pressure me into doing them. The selection of frames is great. read more

In order to post a review you have to give one star but this place deserves No stars. The manager belittled my wife. Out on the sidewalk in front of the store. They were not willing to stand behind the product. Had to go directly to the manufacturer for resolution. My recommendation, don't waste your time or money. Too many alternatives to put up with any of that. Terrible read more

I have now been able to take two of my kids to northwood vision and have been beyond pleased every time! Two years ago I got my first pair of glasses and I still love them! My daughter got her first pair a year ago and Dr.Keats was educational and informative so that my daughter knew what was going on with her eyes and when she needed to wear them. I just recently took my eldest and he needed glasses too! Lori the office manager has helped all of us find the perfect pair, helping us figure out the style we like best and that fits us best! The entire staff is amazing, knowledgeable, and kind! Thank you Northwood Vision for having Dr.Keats, an outstanding staff, and the best selection of high quality glasses! read more

Always A plus here. I've been coming for ten years. I had an issue recently with my prescription and the Dr. handled it promptly.

Greatest Eye guy I've been to. My wife was referred by a family friend, she reffered me, I had my eyes checked and I purchased four pairs of glasses and had one pair re-lens'd They have a great staff there, Dr is a down to earth caring man. I'll go back for sure. read more

Dr. Keats is an amazing eye doctor. He does an excellent job explaining everything during the exam and is very thorough. I had a lot of trouble seeing while driving at night, and I was getting quite a few headaches during the day. Once I received my new glasses, these problems went away. He nailed my prescription dead on! He also took photographs of my eye with this retinal camera. It was so neat to see the inside of my eye, and I like that every year I can have a new picture taken each visit to monitor any changes that may occur. The optical at Northwood Vision has plenty of trendy frames, and the lenses I ended up with have the best anti-reflective coating I've ever had ... it doesn't attract smudges the way my old lenses with a lesser-quality coating did. The ladies there were very helpful in helping me select the right glasses for my face. read more

Since Dr Keats took over, this office gets five stars from me. The staff has always been pleasant, but Dr. Keats is knowledgable, informative and seems very passionate about eye care and health. I highly recommend this office to anyone in the area! read more

Stay away unless you want to be overcharged and underwhelmed. Went here as they are on my insurance plan. Nothing but issues and pushy salespeople including the Dr. Who actually stated during the exam that they only deal with high end products. (Hint, spoiler ahead) that comment alone made me want to run for the door. Fast forward to purchasing new glasses. My insurance has quite a nice allowance for frames and lenses. I picked out a pair quite easily, now for the sales pitch. I made it VERY clear I do not like progressive lenses, I have had them in the past. I needed single vision for driving and I told them I would just get another cheap pair for reading OR they could just sell me readers since my main concern was working on my pc. I was told that BIG changes had been made to progressive lenses since my last pair. High pressure sales tactics won over and I was also told if I didn't like them they would redo them to my satisfaction. Fast forward.. This is true but what wasn't told was that it would cost me nearly $200 to TRY it. They did redo the glasses but I still had to pay for the progressive lenses which were over and above my insurance reimbursement. Even with insurance I paid $422 for glasses. Totally ridiculous in my opinion. I disputed the charge and still ended up having to pay for something I didn't want. Northwood vision is a clear example of a greedy independent retailer. I should also mention that when I went back in to pu the single vision glasses I was glad that they would not release them due to a billing issue which ended up being their own fault. I drove 50 miles rt on a Saturday only to be turned away. Yes, they did overnight them to me and apologize but sorry folks damage is done now reap the reward of an honest review. Had you been honest, your business would have benefited from the business of my company which is located less than 1/2 mile from your office with 50+ employees and their families with great vision insurance. read more

Doctor has no patient manners whatsoever. Very cold and rude. Staff was alright. If I had to do it all over again, I would have gone somwehere else. read more

Great selection of glasses, the doctor is very nice. Customer service is below average. I have to agree that I would not pick this place again for that reason. read more

I was surprised to see the some negative reviews posted here but then I realized this was by someone who has never been to the office let alone done any services. I understand they had a bad phone experience but that certainly is not all Northwood Vision delivers. My wife and I have both been clients there for a bit over 2 years. We have had perhaps five interactions in that time including the last in April 2016. Phone service has been excellent with every interaction. My wife and I have bought 4 pairs of eyeglasses so far and getting ready for the fifth pair in the next few days. I have found the prices paid are compatible with others purchased in recent years. Our exams have been thorough and the doctor and staff have been communicative throughout the exams and after. Their eyeglass selection is good but they were very cooperative in pulling out the catalogs to identify frames we have been satisfied thru the years we have been wearing eyeglasses. 50 years for my spouse and 25 years for me. read more

The Doctor and staff were great. I got an appointment quickly. The office was very clean and it smelled good too. Dr Keats did a thorough exam he was kind and very patient. I'm so happy to have found him. read more

I have worn glasses, contacts some type of vision correction since third grade. OK, no reason to say how long ago that was but I am retired now. I recently went to see Dr. Keats at Northwood Vision and I have never had any eye Doctor ever spend that much time with me to actually discuss my wants and needs. He is willing to make changes based on my personal needs. I have already tried a couple prescriptions for new contacts that he has tweaked to get it just right for me. How awesome is that? For me.....absolutely awesome. Thanks Dr. Keats and staff. read more

It was my first time to the office. Doctors exam conversation was distracting during the exam. Religion and politics are delicate topics to initiate anywhere. Because of his conversation, I focused on needed exam detail being omitted and my having to pull from past exams administered by other doctors. I began to question the accuracy of the exam provided in my head. I left the office feeling possibly spiritually judged, confused and insulted. I lost time analyzing the experience and became accepting I would rather lose benefits than have the experience explained. That aside his shop has a wonderful selection of glasses. I would suggest getting a copy of your record before you leave. read more
