The person I spoke with was friendly and answered all my questions, even explaining things I forgot to ask about (like how to store the medication). The items were shipped quickly and packaged well. They included all the information about administering the medication, the dosage, etc written out with the package. Prices were slightly less than my local vet office as well. We had never used this type of pharmacy before, but a prescription for our cat, Windy, was sent here by our vet. All I can say is this company is beyond AMAZING. I refill via a website. Plug in the prescription number, name, address, phone number and 2 days later (if that) it arrives via USPS. Card for billing on file. Never an issue. It's well packaged and complete. Only once in the year we've used them, did the medicine get "lost" in the mail. Since it's a life and death kinda medicine, we called them with our plight. Sometimes I marvel at how calmly and efficiently they fill my prescriptions. But today they went above and beyond. I left my meds on a cruise ship over the weekend. I am in Florida right now, but live in Oregon. I called NWC yesterday around noon & explained the situation. I talked to Bob & he said, "No problem, we can have them there by tomorrow." I've never visited the physical location of Northwest Compounders so all of our contact has been by phone or computer. We have two senior cats who have medications that need to be compounded. I have been so pleased with the turn around time between ordering and receiving the medications. Medications are delivered by courier within a day or two. During the ice storm this winter their phones were down for DAYS!. I contacted then by email and voila the service was seamless. I can't believe I'm writing a review of the place I now think of as "my cat's pharmacy." Of course, they compound human medicines, too! I've been there three times recently, as my vet is fine-tuning my cat's hyperthyroid medicine. We started with tuna-flavored liquid, which worked OK. I wanted to attempt pills since they'd be cheaper long term, so for the second dose, they were able to make a capsule since my cat's dose isn't available in pre-made tablets. That was an instant and miserable failure. I called the next day to let them know I needed liquid again. They coordinated with the vet to get a refill on the liquid, and we went with chicken this time (the tuna is an oily suspension; the chicken is water-based). When I went back to pick up the 2nd liquid, they offered me a one-time lower price since I had just paid for the capsules. I was surprised and impressed. They certainly didn't have to do that; it wasn't their fault I couldn't successfully give my cat a pill! The staff are all friendly and helpful. It is in an odd location like others have mentioned, but the parking is easy and right in front of the entrance. Each prescription was ready within a couple of hours of calling it in, and during pick-up, I was in and out within minutes. Great place! read more

The first time I went there, I was greeted at the door by Luke who directed me to the front desk to pick up my cat's prescriptions. I was in a bad place emotionally at the time because I was scared my cat wasn't going to pull through. They demonstrated patience and sympathy and explained everything in detail on how to administer the meds through his e-tube. I called in a refill request today, and again spoke with Luke, who was completely patient and courteous and answered all my questions. Couldn't have hoped for a better experience. This place has been great for our rabbit. We've had three purchases with them so far and the pharmacists have been very knowledgeable and courteous. You can either pick up your medicine or have it delivered. We've done both. Everything they've mixed up has been well received by our rabbit, so the flavors must be pretty good. They also are very good about marking the syringes if it's a funky dosage (like 0.27mL) so that you don't have to guess which tiny line is correct. If you have find yourself in the unfortunate circumstances of needing some fancy medications mixed up for you, this place is definitely a good place to go. read more

My older cat has a number of health issues and her internal medicine specialist and oncologist (separate businesses) both recommended Northwest Compounders for her chemo pills and liquid medicine. They are friendly, efficient, and incredibly quick to both fill and ship prescriptions. During my last appointment, my cat's internal medicine specialist called in multiple prescriptions late in the day and Northwest Compounders worked with me so I could pick her prescriptions up on my way home after their business hours so that my cat could start her new meds that night. The following day, my cat's internal medicine specialist prescribed an additional medicine; Northwest Compounders called right away to arrange for payment and shipping. While they told me I may not get it until the following week due to a backlog, I received her new prescription in the mail the next day. I wish I could say I received such amazing service at my own human pharmacy but honestly, I'd much rather my little furry family member receive the better service! Liquid prescriptions can be flavored with chicken, beef, or fish, and they also have a hypoallergenic honey option for those family members who have allergies.
