Comfy waiting area
Dot K.

I had my Subaru inspected here today. Ryan, the service manager, was delightful to work with. The waiting area has comfy couches, free cookies, and a drinking fountain. They used to have a small refrigerator with bottled water available for customers, but not any more.

I did oil change and tire rotation 7 days ago, my car tire is loosing, shaking, and making noise after the tire rotation. I made reschedule and they said the problem I am facing it's natural. They didn't even diagnose my car Not accepted. Because my car is brand new And I feel rotation wasn't right Will never go back After tire rotation it's still says B1 that means they didn't do the tire rotation right.

Average interaction with a salesperson who really didn't know what they were talking about. She tried though.

This review is only for the service department…read more So I'll give this place 4.5 stars, here's why: First of, it's the dealership. Rumor has it, you're overpaying for work that you can get cheaper elsewhere. However, I don't trust "those other places". This place tells you what you need to hear: good, bad or ugly...but at the end of the day, it's the truth. Choose to do what you want with that info, but it's your choice. I went in for a standard oil change, and tire rotation. I bought a package of three oil changes and tire rotation because there's a discount (of some sort) if you buy it as a package. The good news is they keep track of the packages and can tell you how many you've used or have left (bc to be honest, who has time to keep up with such list of to-do's, right?)...And so this goes back to my first statement, they're trustworthy. I had no problems at all. They did an oil change, tire rotation and an induction cleaning of my engine in under 2 hours. Overall, I'm very happy. I have no complaints and yes, I would recommend to anyone needing a trustworthy place to take your car for service.

Told me I needed to replace the electric fans. Motors seized. Recommended aftermarket Fans. Then it was wiring harness for fans, then TPM. After I received the car back my turn signals were not operating properly. Flashing erratically. Was told it is probably my bulbs. Checked bulbs. None are out. Took it back. Replaced TPM again. Still malfunctioning turn signals. Was told " I wouldn't worry, they work good enough". Until I can't pass inspection in my state. I never had issues with my turn signals until Northtown Dodge repaired my vehicle.

I purchased the extended service contract with the car, about 2 months later the Right Wheel sensor for the ABS & Traction control went bad, it took 2 weeks for them to get the part, and when I left there the warning lights were still on. I was told by their service advisor that he'd look into it and 2 to 3 months later I was told to take it to North Town Kia to have them look into it. Today I get a call asking if I was satisfied with the service, hell NO, and that the NEW service coordinator would give me a call back in about 10 minutes about the issue after he looked into the it, well it's been a hour & a half, I've got to get ready to go into work, my call back to him went to VM, and he still hasn't called me back!!! As I said their Service Dept. SUCKS!!! AND I'M SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING NEVER, I REPEAT, NEVER GOING BACK THERE AGAIN FOR ANYTHING, EVEN FOR ANOTHER CAR!!!

I will no longer be using Northtown Toyota for service, nor will I recommend them to anyone…read more My family has been a loyal service customer for years, which makes this experience especially disappointing. We brought our RAV4 Prime in for its 70,000-mile service, including inspection of the hybrid motor cable corrosion service campaign. We were told the cable showed corrosion but hadn't yet triggered the required fault code. Since the parts were backordered for weeks or months, we chose to leave the vehicle because we were told a failure could leave us stranded. About a week later, we considered trading the vehicle for a new RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid due to the indefinite wait. During the appraisal, the salesperson told us the open campaign reduced our trade-in value. That made no sense since it was a manufacturer issue, not owner damage. Their offer was roughly $5,000 lower than every other dealership we later visited, so we took the vehicle back. Interestingly, about a week after mentioning we were shopping elsewhere, Northtown suddenly had the previously unavailable parts. Coincidence or not, I'll let others decide. I happened to be getting another appraisal when Northtown called saying the parts had arrived. I drove directly there and was told the repair would likely be completed that evening. Around 8 PM I was told it would instead be finished the next day. The next day I heard nothing until I called. Then it became Friday because a "master technician" had to perform the repair. Friday became Saturday. Saturday came with no communication. Monday I was again told it would be done that afternoon, then later that evening I was informed it still wasn't finished but was "next on the lift." What should have been a one-day repair turned into more than a week with almost no proactive communication. Every update required me to call, my text messages requesting updates went unanswered, and every delay came with the same explanation instead of an honest timeline. Throughout all of this, Northtown claimed they had no rental vehicles available, leaving us to arrange transportation at our own expense. When I finally picked up the vehicle on Tuesday, the experience somehow became even worse. There was a large chunk missing from the steering wheel. Before leaving the dealership parking lot, I photographed the damage and texted the service advisor, who acknowledged it and said management would be notified. After weeks of following up, the service manager finally called only to argue that I had no "before" photo of my steering wheel. Customers should not have to photograph every inch of their vehicle before dropping it off for service. The expectation is that it will be returned in the same condition. The manager also claimed no one had entered the vehicle because the repair was underneath the car. That was simply untrue. The rear seat had clearly been disturbed, the child seat had been moved, and items inside the vehicle had been shifted. This repair requires access under the rear seat. Northtown also failed to complete its own vehicle inspection video, eliminating documentation that could have resolved the dispute. Eventually, the manager said he would speak with his vinyl repair specialist. Despite several follow-up attempts and repeated assurances that they would "take care of it," I have been completely ghosted. The steering wheel remains damaged. Over the course of a month, I had my own vehicle for only a few days. Northtown had it the rest of the time. I dealt with poor communication, constantly changing timelines, no rental assistance, ignored update requests, and ultimately received my vehicle back damaged with no meaningful resolution. After years of being a loyal customer, this experience has completely destroyed my confidence in Northtown Toyota. I cannot recommend them, and I strongly encourage you to select another dealership.

But if you are reading this review answer this question - "Luke S" responds to most of these negative reviews with "thanks for the feedback, sorry to hear about your experience" yet they have more negative feedback with the same issue...customer service. He has not changed the CULTURE at this dealership that either tolerates or encourages such crass, disrespect to their own customers! I read it in the reviews, and experienced it twice myself at this dealership service department. You know, Luke, it costs the dealership on average about $4,000 to obtain a customer, and minutes to lose one. And one turns into a hundred, then a thousand. That's how you go out of business. The simplest way to get and keep them? Provide OUTSTANDING customer service - not just cookies and coffee - but customer service that helps solve the problem instead of handing over a story and a bill. I don't know why this seems beyond their ABILITY to deliver!!! I can tell you I have been to numerous VW dealerships in the area and across the country and Northtown is not the standard, they are the exception (not in a good way). Most VW dealerships have paired down but their service departments continue to deliver great customer service, just for being a loyal VW customer. This is the dealerships revenue driver!!! The fact that this one honestly does not seem to care what any of us think enough to DO anything about the continuous, single complaint of poor customer service...is astounding. So my story, I have an issue with my car based on recent heavy rains and the documented history, and lawsuit settlement over VW sunroof leaks. Their internal technical bulletin was sent by VW corporate to to all the dealerships within their own VW communications system with the dealerships. Yet Northtown insisted they had no idea what I was talking about, or any experience with it (in 7 years?) and could not help me resolve it other than to do some testing, look at the drainage system, check all the areas covered by the issue (ironic?) then charge me $259.00 to clean the tubes. And give me a detailed bill that now I have to take to VW and get the claim approved and repairs carried out. Northtown didn't know about this technical bulletin, or lawsuit yet they knew enough to say that VW recommends cleaning out these tubes every 20,000 miles as routine maintenance! Since when?? Likely subsequent to the lawsuit but that doesn't change anything for me because it has never been part of or recommended during the routine maintenance and there was nothing issued to the owners. Looking at my service records they had to admit it was never recommended to me. BTW the fee they charged me is covered under the settlement that I am a part of and I am taking all of this up with VW directly. Don't waste your time asking this dealership to help you because they really don't care about you, the customer or making sure you are pleased with their service. If they did, "Luke" would have made changes already and obviously has not. In fact, the first person that greets you at service is a man with a clipboard with all the charm of steel wool. Only he is allowed to speak to the service rep instead of letting you speak for yourself. I tried to speak to them directly and they made me wait while they discussed whether I could talk to the service person directly! I guess they need to get the internal story straight before they try to gaslight their customers. BTW their internal records had the wrong address for me, one I never lived at, As for the technical bulletin and information, it had to be taken to a 'back office' where some oracle decided they could diagnose the problem and give me a detailed quote I could take up with VW directly, the problem they supposedly know nothing about. They also tried coloring the problem as a lack of recommended routine maintenance by saying that "VW recommends customers have the tubes cleaned out every 20,000 miles ". For something no one knows about? Of course I was on to that bit of chicanery. Claim I didn't do the recommended maintenance so I am stuck. But the fact is in 2019 VW sold me this car knowing about that defect which is why they were successfully sued and now must cover the cost of my repairs, and the diagnostics. AND unlike Northtown, I was able to find out that this repair and diagnostic is covered until February 2027 or 80,000 miles whichever comes first. I will get this resolved, but I will NEVER take my care back to Northtown ever again and will encourage no one to do so either. Especially if you have any warranty, recall or lawsuit settlement repairs.
