Came here the other day and ordered a Niçoise salad. Two families before me who ordered hot sandwiches. They got their order in 5 min. How long does a Niçoise salad take? Long enough that my brother texted me from the baseball field next door "is everything okay?" He figures ordering/receiving salad and walking back to field would've taken no time! Nope. Northside Kitchen catered hors d'oeuvres for our afternoon neighborhood party yesterday and did a fabulous job. I'm so glad I chose Ron Ferreira and his team! The food was all delicious, beautifully served, the best ingredients and very plentiful. We went with Smoked Salmon canapés on dark bread with seasoned cream cheese and fresh dill, (everyone loved it), plus Marinated Grilled Large Shrimp with a zesty Remoulade sauce (just the right level of spicy), homemade Pigs in A Blanket (young & older guests ate them up) and Finger Sandwiches of Egg Salad, Chicken Salad, Smoked Ham Salad & Cucumber. This place is really excellent. I found it in the height of the pandemic while searching for the best fried chicken sandwich. Theirs is really, really good. They have a few versions and each is great. The cutlets are thin and crisp. The toppings are great, and the roll is very good. The fries are also excellent. The portions are very generous. I've also eaten the Tex Mex food which was also very good. The prices are more than fair for what you get. I haven't tried the breakfast yet, but I will. I was there today and school must've just let out and there were probably twenty screaming kids in the place. Loud and chaotic. They handled them with ease. I guess it's probably a daily occurrence. Best BBQ food ever! The Northside Kitchen catered a BBQ themed graduation party for me with outstanding reviews from the guests and myself! We stopped in for lunch today, and after one visit we feel we have a new go to restaurant in Westfield. Since we live nearby we still think of this as Prospectors. My wife ordered the Bifana sandwich and I had the Turkey Dip. We both thought we got the best sandwich. Both came on a perfectly toasted roll. The flavors were great. We also ordered the Kale salad and ended up taking it home and enjoyed it for dinner. We look forward to more visits. This will fit well into our spring and summer walks. read more

Stuffed with chicken, practically enough for two meals, it was so good, I went back a few days later and ordered it again. Their chicken BLT is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, but this is a good alternative. The buttermilk fried chicken sandwich was incredible - what a difference chicken fried-to-order makes in terms of juiciness and flavour, and the slaw and bun were spot on too. The gravy was good and the soup was decent but our fries had HAIR IN IT. The beef dip, who knows if its even beef. It was literally a piece of burnt rubber with cheese on top. Let me start with a great positive. Onion rings were large, and side dipping sauce is great. About 10 rings of varying sizes with chipotle mayo sauce for $10.50. No complaints for the quality or price. Signature, Buttermilk fried chicken sandwich is larger than in years past, but not as good as in the past smaller bun portion which was perfection. Fiesta burrito was first time ordering, so no comparison. Fries with all entrees were wishy washy, undercooked, limp, and small portions. Cheesesteak was oversized pieces of too thick, fatty beef that were hard to chew thru, slid off bun in way too large portions, and were unappetizing. Could not even bite thru them to get a normal sized bite with toppings and bread. Sliced too large and like chewing gristle / gnawing thru --unpleasant experience for what I anticipated. Not enough of the mushrooms, cheese, onions to overcome the chewy, fatty meat. Very disappointed in that sandwich in particular. Total = $53 for three entrees and the best part, the onion rings and sauce. For price and quality, will not be visiting again soon. Completely Disappointed. Went to lunch w/Co-worker and ordered 2 different Mexican meals. Chicken and cheese enchiladas - came out smothered in a brown sauce with fresh avocado on top. Tried to cut into the enchilada - hard to cut into. Chicken and cheese were so dried out and hard - couldn't even eat it. I'm assuming smothering in sauce was to disguise them. And the shredded cheese inside was not even melted or warm! The second lunch was a special - steak tacos. Again - steak dry and overcooked - with a side of beans and rice - also dried out. They should stick to a few items...too many on the menu....and do those WELL. Especially if you are calling yourself a Tex Mex cafe - be sure your Mexican dishes are something to write home about...and not end up in a poor review. When the staff member came over to take my plate, which hadn't been eaten, I informed her of my review of the meal. Everything I've tried from here has been amazing. Of the times I've been there I've had the tomato soup, nicoise salad, ceasar salad, cheeseburger, fries, and tuna melt (which was a special). I have eaten from Northside since they opened several years ago and also since they changed ownership more recently. Most of the menu items stayed the same, but they now have Mexican items on the menu as well. I used to get the beef dip sandwich every time I ordered take out from northside, but that sandwich is not quite as good under the new owners. The mole chicken burrito I had recently was very good. They still make a really good burger and the fries are awesome. Northside is a really solid take out option in the Westfield area. read more

We went there in March of this year, and the food was fantastic. The quality sets it apart from other sandwich shops. For example, they have a smoker onsite and thus, the BBQ sandwich was incredible.
