The day that we went was in the middle of full moon of the first lunar month so many rice, herbs, nuts were in sale, which was great. The shop is clean and big with walls filled with amazing teas, ginseng, beans, red pepper, seafoods, meats, vitamins, salts, juices, rice cakes, snacks, etc. in the freezers, refrigerators and on shelves. Everything is clearly labeled and visible so it is easy to pick up the items you are buying. The clerk was diligent restocking the items and taking care of us at the same time. It was very helpful when he explained each item that we were curious about. He was very knowledgeable on exactly where in Korea it was from and where and why it is useful.

All of their kimchi is made fresh just days prior, and they offer a great variety with different vegetables and sizes to choose from. It's a small market, but they also carry other Korean goodies, which is a nice bonus. The kimchi I got was really good! super fresh with a nice tangy flavor, well balanced seasoning, and a satisfying crunch. It wasn't very spicy, but still really flavorful and easy to enjoy. I was a little worried about the language barrier since I don't speak Korean, but luckily their son works there full time and helped explain the different kimchi and their fermentation process. He was very knowledgeable and patient. It was really nice supporting a family business, and you can tell there is a lot of care and tradition behind their kimchi. We picked up two jars. The red kimchi is $15 and tastes just like the kimchi you get at a good Korean BBQ restaurant. It is very flavorful and pairs perfectly with grilled meat. Add some KBBQ, a fried egg, and rice and you have a great meal. The white kimchi is $19 and is lighter and refreshing. I enjoy pairing it with pork belly wraps because it balances the richness of the meat really well. It almost feels like a palate cleanser between bites. Both were absolutely delicious. Once I finish these jars, I will definitely be making the drive back again.

Inside the bread bag was a partially eaten container of seasoned seaweed that I had been eating. Before I even entered the market, the security guard at the entrance stopped me and, in a confrontational tone, asked, "What's this?" I showed him the container and explained that it was simply the seaweed I had been eating. I asked if there was a problem. He replied that the market sells the same product and that it could be misunderstood. I completely understand the need to prevent shoplifting, but instead of politely explaining the situation, he spoke to me in an accusatory manner from the very beginning and even criticized my tone of voice. I've shopped at many grocery stores, but I've never had a security guard confront me before I even entered the store. It completely ruined the shopping experience for my family. My children were surprised and upset by the security guard's rude behavior. They kept asking me what had happened and why he was talking to us that way, which made the whole experience even more disappointing. To avoid any further misunderstanding, I left the container of seaweed at the entrance before going into the store. This was an extremely unpleasant and disappointing experience.

I took a large bite and swallowed it, only to look down and find that the entire interior is completely infested and riddled with dead insects baked directly into the dough. I am experiencing severe nausea from ingesting this contaminated product. When I called corporate customer service to report this severe quality control failure, the representative completely stonewalled me and REFUSED to open an official risk management report. I have safely preserved the physical evidence and have filed a formal complaint with the Orange County Health Care Agency (Environmental Health Division) to investigate this facility's flour supply.
