Shortly after picking it up, I noticed the mower was still leaking oil and had to bring it back again, which caused additional inconvenience. It appears the issue was not properly repaired the first time and may have only been temporarily treated instead of fully fixed. This resulted in wasted time and money. Because of this experience, I do not recommend ACE Hardware in Atascocita for lawnmower or equipment repairs. While purchasing supplies may be fine, the repair service did not meet my expectations.

I was helped first by woman and then she turned me over to a young man who actually sharpens the knives. Since there were so many knives I asked if I could just leave them and pick them up later. No problem. The young man took my phone number and I left. He called a day later to say they were ready. I went today to pick up my knives and they charged me $6.99 per knife! Almost $70! NO ONE at the store or in the phone message EVER mentioned a charge, and there was no documentation given to me when I left the knives. Just a friendly "I'll call you when they're ready". When I talked with the manager about it today, he did say that the $6.99 is written on the machine. I never saw it. He offered me a $5.00 off coupon. Really???Part of good customer service is tell your customer when there is a service charge like this. A receipt for my knives with the cost shown also would have let me know before they were sharpened, and I could have said no. Bad move, Ace Hardware.

However if you get one of older folks they know what products they have, where to find them in store and if necessary takes you to the spot. When the cashier that was actually working told her "hey we have a lot if pol in line" the girl responded "I know" looked and the line and proceeded not to care. They will deliver it for $100, I offered to pay that and have them deliver it to their own yard as a way around and I was told it was impossible. So come in at 4:10, knowing they close at 5, have to wait at the counter to get served for 20 mins, then I'm told the yard closes at 4:30 so can't collect today and will have to come back in the morning. Considering it's a lumber yard, the yard actually being open till 5, or just closing at 4:30, or mentioning it on their opening times would make sense. Turn up in the morning at 6:40, to be first through the gate at 7, to only wait 15 mins to even have my paper work looked at to pull the order. It's a terrible service. I use this place when I'm in a pinch, now I will just avoid at all costs. Doesn't matter who you are or how much you spend (I'm a contractor that spends 80-100,000 a year now else where) , they are not interested in decent customer service. Do yourself a favour and look around for a different supplier. Make this your last option.
