My fiancée and I ordered a medium 2 topping thin crust ham and pineapple with breadsticks and two 20 oz bottled sodas for 15.99 plus tax. I like the original crust better than their thin crust. The Marinara dipping sauce is really good ! The thin crust lacks flavor. There wasn't very many toppings on the pizza. They should put more sauce on the pizza too. I was very happy that while ordering over the phone the gentleman taking my order took the time to listen that I wanted no cheese and he made sure I knew their normal pizza sauce has cheese in it, but they are able to use Marinara sauce to make it vegan! So if you are ordering and vegan make sure you get Marinara sauce! The pizzas arrived in about 40 minutes from when I ordered at busy time 7pm on a Friday night! I order from Northern Lights almost four times a week . I always tell them that I don't eat pork and I order a chicken cordon bleu sandwich with no pork . Lately there's been pork on it and because I call and ask them to resend another one without pork they feel like I'm messing with them . They argued me up and down about how they made it themselves and they know there's not pork in it and I'm sitting here looking at the bacon asking them to come look at it he said he doesn't have time to Quality check . I asked him has he read his reviews because a lot of people have problems with them putting pork on there he said he doesn't have time to read reviews. So I am understanding that they don't care about customer service even though they stress they do . They say they go out of their way to make sure they have quality service but they're arguing with me telling me if I don't call in a certain amount of time I won't receive my order telling me that I'm lying about the pork telling me that my account is red flags for complaints. Why would I complain unless you're doing something wrong? If you really care about your clients or your paying customers because we all know that we are not borrowing food we pay for it if you really care why wouldn't you read your reviews? Why would you take the time to argue with a paying customer ? If I'm telling you I'll send you a picture I'll let you see the order and you still refuse how does that match with you caring about your customer? They will never get another dime of mine . The customer service is terrible the delivery drivers beg for tips and get upset when you don't tip them . They'll bring you one thing and leave the other and then blame you for it. I don't sell drugs everything I buy I work hard for . I don't ask them for credit and I don't buy my food with food stamps so I just don't understand why the customer is to blame for their mess up. Normally you show up for take out only, otherwise everything is delivered, but we were hungry and hadn't called ahead. Although very busy, the employees were very friendly and accommodating. My daughter got to watch them make the pizzas, which was awe inspiring in some ways for her. The pizza was done in about 12 minutes (fantastic) and was hands down the best race pizza I've had. This is my favorite "fast food" pizza in Des Moines. Asiago crust and Asiago breadsticks is where it's at. I could bathe in the garlic butter sauce. Puts Papa Johns to shame. My husband likes the taco pizza but we've stopped ordering it because the last two times we did for delivery they forgot to bring the toppings. Normally we like that they keep the toppings (Doritos, sour cream, taco sauce...) separate because it saves better for the next day but they still have to make it to us via delivery. But if they forget NL has always been good about comping us a free pizza and/or bringing our ingredients back ASAP. Also, for whatever reason the grand location pizza tastes the best. read more

I feel like Most people only write reviews when they have a negative experience. I wanted to take the time to share my experience, all be it not positive, I'm very happy in the end. I placed an order online late at night on the weekend and was given a hour wait time. I expected this and was ok with it. At about 50 min I received a call stating my order was going to take longer than expected. I appreciated the call but was not satisfied when they preferred to cancel my order instead. After calling James he was very apologetic for the misunderstanding, completed my order, and got it out to me immediately. The reason I am writing the review is because as I understand that things happen, I personally was being a difficult customer and instead of James getting defensive as most people would (including myself) he handled it very professionally, came up with a solution and satisfied this customer in the end. I definitely enjoy their pizza and breadsticks, but there are a few issues that make me say 4 stars instead of 5. When you order garlic as a topic, there is no flavor. I love garlic but I do not order it anymore because you can't taste it at all. The other thing is that the size difference between a medium and large is non noticeable (it comes in the same box), but there's a noticeable difference in price. Eating this pizza reminds me of that old episode of the Simpsons where Homer is trying to get fat enough to be declared disabled. At one point Bart suggests that if whatever the food is wrapped in turns clear then it must be fattening. Well my friends, this is the only pizza I believe I have ever encountered that is greasy enough to turn the bottom of the box clear. And their breadsticks are unholy works of the devil! Gluten free options which are great, but it's not gluten free "done right". Always saggy in the middle, I ask for well done each time but I have to preheat my oven so it's ready for another 10 minutes by the time it arrives. My husband loves their pizza & breadsticks and doesn't have celiac, so it's good I can actually get something; albeit a generally undercooked pizza. I ordered delivery from this location. The delivery driver called to find my address. At the time he was less than five minutes away. It took another fifteen minutes on the phone, and myself and my roommates standing outside our townhouse flashing a flashlight in order for him to find our house. When the driver finally arrived, he was rude, refused to address our complaints, and told me that it was my fault for making it too difficult for him. When I called the store to complain, the manager on duty hung up on me rather than listen to me. Horrible customer service. This is sad because they were my favorite pizza place. I ordered a pizza on their website for delivery. After it being almost an hour late I called the store. They assured me that it was on its way. After 1.5 hours late I called again and was told the same thing. At this point I was annoyed and requested to just have my order cancelled and money refunded. The lady told me to wait for a manager. The manager got on the phone and seemed to have a hard time even finding my order. After finding it she told me.. "oh, your order came through as a carry out." I told her that I had requested delivery, but beside the point why was I told 2x that it was on its way? And if you have a pizza sitting there for carry out for 2 hours.. why didnt you call me? The manager told me she would cancel my order and refund my money. I waited a week and never got my money back. I sent a message to the. Through their website. Have not heard anything.
