Buffet style restaurant with beef brisket and Mac n cheese

I really enjoyed our lunch here and would definitely be back. The buffet service was efficient for our limited lunch break due to our gondola return ticket time. I enjoyed the food, especially the beef, and the views were remarkable. Our server, Curtis, provided outstanding service. I will definitely be back for its delicious food, efficient service, and excellent scenery.

We sat outside at the Bier Garden on a warm day in April. They had just opened for the season. The food and cider was delicious and the views were incredible. The service was also fantastic.

We stopped in for a drink on a Friday evening while enjoying the Banff Gondola. We were seated immediately at a two topper near the bar, and of course had amazing views of the mountains and the town. We were having trouble deciding on a drink, after getting a little taster of one of the wines in question, we both decided on a glass of the Sauvignon blanc. It was the perfect way to round out our trip on the mountain! They offered both 6 and 9 ounce pours, as well as some of the wines by the bottle. Our server Alexa was really sweet and so nice to talk to!

This place was great! All the buffet options were really good - we enjoyed the chicken, cottage pie, and Mac and cheese the most! They had a nice variety of things so that anyone could have something they liked. The cut brisket was a little dry, but still good. Their desserts were very good as well and the perfect ending to the meal. Our server was great - Courtney was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. And even the front of restaurant host, Kyle made sure we got a table with a nice view (and we didn't even have a reservation!) Definitely worth the money!

The view was wonderful, the food was buffet style so you get up and get it yourself. There were some pretty good options and the service was good, everyone was friendly and welcoming.

Had a fantastic buffet lunch. They had a great selection and the beef brisket was so tender. The views are incredible . Our server Courtney was so personable and made our visit memorable. We will definitely be back. Thank you

Great choices in the buffet, good food with great service and views for days. Even though I was by myself, they let me have a table for 6 people because I wanted to sit by the window.

Great place to go for lunch or dinner. My mom and I were first to go in and the chef gave us many recommendations. Service was great, the waitress was very helpful and chef came around to check in with everyone. Food was great and in terms of ambiance and view, I would definitely choose Northern Lights over Sky Bistro.

Five stars for views and -1 for food. I haven't put anything this unappetizing in my mouth since competing in season three of Fear Factor.

That means I wasn't paying the listed…read moreprices, which I really can't imagine being worth it compared to ordering a la carte at Maclab. There was usually an okay starch, some reasonably fresh salads, one or two pretty tasty entrees, and at least one entree that was borderline inedible. Salads were whatever, but desserts were uniformly excellent. Spices were present but somewhat worse for wear.

I would give it five stars for the stunning view on a good day although unfortunately when we were…read morethere it was full on fog and snow and you couldn't see 5 feet out the window but I know what the view is like normally there because I've been there before and normally the view is stunning. However obviously weather is not the fault of the restaurant. A few things that they do have in their control which could've been better... As other people have mentioned the price is crazy for what you get. And the buffet literally shocked me how few options they had for breakfast buffet. It was about the same as the cheapest kind of motel you could go to in USA in a strip mall.......The staff service really has got to be improved, almost everybody I talked to could use an attitude adjustment. For example me and my two teenage sons showed up on time for 8 AM reservation and spoke with the receptionist who clearly doesn't like her job and isn't interested in being there. She simply pointed for us where to go she didn't lead us to our table. Unfortunately our table was literally as far away diagonally across the restaurant as you could get to -it was so far away it was in the south west corner and of course when we got there it was filthy and covered with dirty plates, dirty glasses, used newspapers, and long black curly strands of hair from the previous family who had been there. The restaurant is so large it was actually quite a long walk to get back to her to tell her. She just said so I don't know what do you want to do about it just go back there and wait for the staff to clean it up I guess.... Also the music is unbelievably unbelievably bad. In fact it is so bad that after a while it got funny and I made a list, I will copy and paste here in a moment because my sons and I were cracking up. It was the most sickly sweetViolin elevator music orchestra covers of the worst pop music in the world for example any of the worst songs by Maroon 5 and Nickelback, and Drake, and the weekend, and even that ridiculous song "all about that bass", Which is by Meghan Trainor and it's a song about girls w really fat butts. She is singing about her butt in quite a lot of graphic detail, imagine having those lyrics race through your mind while you're trying to eat a nondescript lukewarm breakfast surrounded by rich snobby people and listening to crappy violins and synthesizers.... it was ridiculous.......I'm only giving it to Star's for finally one of the nice waiters who showed up who sympathize with me and my lack of enthusiasm for the song list. He agreed with me......."Life is too short for shit music!!!!!"

The was a toaster with a bread bar, some sliced meats, sliced fresh fruits, yogurts, cheeses, a cereal bar, a juice selection, and a smoothie. The dinner was lovely. I enjoyed all of the fresh vegetable options. The Caprese salad, balsamic basil vinaigrette were fabulous. The chicken and a vegetarian pasta dish were beautifully displayed. She just kept making a bee line to other tables over and over again to refill their cups and then seemed to avert her eyes as she passed ours. I finally asked her and she said she was our waitress but she too busy to serve us...at all. Seriously? All we needed was coffee and you couldn't handle it? Array of food for breakfast buffet was abundant. Lots of stuff to choose from. It was annoying to arrive at 7 when they were supposed to open and see it was SWARMED with two tour groups. Why make actual hotel guests wait to eat when you let large outside groups in early? We wouldn't go back. I'd rather walk to whitebark cafe where the coffee was great and the service was warm.

May 12, 2026. Everything about the Maple leaf was…read moreoutstanding! My wife enjoyed a nice sparkling Prosecco to kick off the evening with our nice-sized Prince Edward Island oysters. We then shared a Waldorf salad, which was refreshing and nice. Then we both selected red wine varietals grown in Canada. I had a Cabernet/Merlot blend which was super great. Would've never guessed it was from Canada. Next, My wife enjoyed a Pinot Noir that was light and complimented our entrée perfectly. Our entrée was the fillet and prawns served over a garlic mashed potato. This is an absolutely extraordinary dish. We shared it and it was just enough for two people. It is a full meal for one person. The filet temperature preparation was perfect. The prawns were extraordinary, and the garlic mashed potato made you curl your toes! Then we closed the evening with the melted chocolate soufflé, which was divine. Here's the one thing that they missed and to me it's an important miss. They use an automated system for taking reservations. And it kept asking for my name to which I said "Chris" and the automated system kept asking me what's your name!? So it asked hey fourth time and in my frustration I got playful and I said "Big Daddy." And it happily received my name and took my reservation. And then asked if there was any special occasion and I said yes my wife and I are celebrating our anniversary. I get that it may not seem normal to say "Big Daddy party for two". So I'll kind of let that pass because neither front door or upstairs Host was willing to ask. But what I don't like that was missed was our anniversary wasn't acknowledged. I was a server for years, and every host gave the server some type of chit or note to let them know if there is a special occasion. We specifically selected a higher end restaurant for anniversary. So somewhere in there, even if you weren't brave enough to say "Big Daddy for two." Someone still should've checked if you were celebrating any special occasion to which we were. Our anniversary. Our server was fabulous. She was super kind helpful and shared about her experience being in Banff. She made us feel great. My overall experience, the Mapleleaf is a great restaurant. But I'm scoring you an A- because you missed our anniversary. and that's why we chose you. So if you're going to use AI, you can't miss special occasions. Chris & Trisha from Long Beach, CA

5/5 -- Outstanding Experience at The Maple Leaf!…read more We had an incredible Birthday Dinner for our daughter at The Maple Leaf, and a huge part of that was thanks to our server and bartender, Megan. She was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and spot-on with her recommendations for both drinks and appetizers. We started the evening with a Maple Old Fashioned, which was perfectly balanced and set the tone for the night. For starters, we ordered the Fior Loaf Buttered Cheese Bread, which was warm, well-seasoned, and absolutely delicious. Our family tried a variety of entrées, and every single one impressed: * Maple Salmon Prawns - flavorful and beautifully prepared * Mafalda Limone Pasta - bright, creamy, and comforting * Roasted Harvest Chicken - cooked perfectly with great seasoning * Bison Burger - juicy, unique, and packed with flavor To finish, we indulged in dessert with the Maple Crème Brûlée and the Hot Chocolate Soufflé--both outstanding and the perfect ending to a great meal. Overall, The Maple Leaf delivered an exceptional dining experience. Amazing food, warm ambiance, and standout service from Megan made this one of the best meals we've had.
