Pretty good experience. EXPENSIVE. I'm from California, splitting time between LA and San Francisco. Even there, in the fanciest hipster coffee shops, you can almost always get SOME option for 3 bucks flat or under. Batch brew here is $3.61. Ouch. But, I gave 4 stars because: they do give you a little more than one cup with the batch brew (though I'll bet that means they don't give a refill). The place is nicely decorated and the bathrooms are immaculate, and they have two, which is great. And the coffee was real good. Also, there is a - in my opinion, ridiculous - tripping hazard on the way to the half and half. They hand you the batch brew on a little tray, with a full cup of hot coffee and a mini glass carafe with the extra brew, which is hard enough to walk with if you're not a waiter, then on the way to the half and half, there is a 3 inch raised platform with a small 90 degree slate-tile lip sticking up! I'm a pretty fleet-footed guy and I almost ate it right there, cause I was paying attention to not spilling the delicate little tray of hot coffee, not watching my footing. I got lucky and saved it even though my foot caught on that unexpected lip. Watch out! read more

As a high school student, I am a frequent visitor to coffee shops of various shapes and sizes. But this one blew me out of the water. The decor was AMAZING-especially the cat tails in the bathroom and the floral bouquets at every table! I'm also a vegetarian, so at some restaurants and other coffee shops the menu restricts my options. But not at this one! The warm quinoa salad and the waffle both were pleasing to the eyes and taste buds. The tea also was aesthetically pleasing as well as deliciously tasting. Overall a great experience with the employees, space, and menu. Would highly recommend and expect to see me back soon ;) read more

Wonderful coffee shop with lots of space and outlets. The WiFi is really fast and the overall atmosphere made it easy for me to get a lot of work done. The employees are kind and prices were reasonable. They have some bakery items if you're feeling hungry. The decor is really modern and aesthetic. I ordered a vanilla chai tea latte which is usually my determining factor if a coffee shop is good or just okay. I can't even EXPRESS how amazing it was. Coffee places are usually THE WORST at anything with chai and I have to say, this place nailed it! I will definitely be back during the winter enjoying my chai lattes! I'm sorry but some menu items should be served warmed up. My maple latte was fine, nothing exceptional. My partner wanted a pour over but those were out of order. Very hip new cafe. Uses intelligentsia coffee beans and they make delicious coffee. I had a latte; he got the cold brew. Service is pleasant with recommendations offered and accepted. Tables were filled with a mix of working 20-something's working and customers enjoying lunch. I got the avocado toast which was surprisingly deconstructed and he got the grilled cheese. In the future I think I'll pass on the deconstructed avocado toast despite the delicious radish pickles and the novelty of Black Sea salt. read more

Pricey for sure. But the drinks they offer are a good mix of classic and creative. The coffee goes down super well and isn't harsh to the mouth at all. There is metered parking available (it is downtown mpls after all) and there might be parking available in the back, but it could be for the bookstore next to it. The ambience is a very trendy and clean intersection of rustic/ warehouse/ industrial and modern/ minimalist. They offer food there as well, toast, biscuit sandwiches, and salads. read more

Great coffee shop in a redeveloping area stretch of Washington Ave. Drinks are both classic and inventive and all prepared with care and skill. The cold brew is some of the best - not to acidic and full of flavor. The food is prepared with just as much care and all looked amazing so it was hard to choose. The tomato sandwich on a corn biscuit with bacon was filling and so delicious. Next time we will definitely be getting one of the House cookies as well. There isn't a lot of seating and it can be busy all day so plan ahead. read more

Nice little place near the stadium. Strong coffee and good food. Parking is a bit of a challenge otherwise it's definitely worth the effort.

It's a very pretty space with a fair amount of seating given its relatively small size. I was disappointed that the parking on the side of the building wasn't for the restaurant, but street parking wasn't hard to find. I ordered the Cabin Breakfast and it was just alright. The scrambled eggs were oddly folded over, but well seasoned. The country loaf toast was nice and thick, and the bacon was a perfectly crispy medium cut. The plate presentation was very thoughtful and photo-ready if you're into that kind of thing. Overall, I'm happy I tried it, but I wouldn't go again. Nice spot for coffee, to work, and to hang out with pals. Great ambience. Though many have found the sausage biscuit to be great, i thought it was ok. Found it to be spicy, though my tolerance for spicy food is quite high. The biscuit is easy on the mouth which is nice (had tougher biscuits before which I did not like). The combination of sausage, cheese and egg works, but it's not at the point which would make me exclaim in joy.(Perhaps my taste buds are not catered to american food?) I came in early at 7.30am on Sunday and was relatively empty, people started to stream in every 10 minutes, so that's a sign to me that the place is indeed well loved by the folks who live in the neighborhood. I go here for lunch regularly, since it's near my office. The food and coffee are outstanding! The presentation is beautiful and the flavors are well thought out and interesting. The coffee shop has a lighter aesthetic with exposed brick and light wood, and there is a good amount of seating. I could only find street parking which is the only downside. I love going and enjoying coffee shops in many places. This is one place I didn't enjoy the coffee from. The staff isn't friendly at all. From the moment you walk in you are not greeted. Not all of their dishes are flavorful. I did enjoy the Turkey sandwich, which was full of flavor. This concept has so much more potential especially being on such a busy street. The team just needs to improve on their customer service. Remember the guest are the ones that created that revenue to pay the bills. Also... the coffee... don't over cook it or over steam the milk then that cup comes out too hot and taste burnt. When you have those 2 issues the guest will then douse the sugar into the cup and that then officially ruins the cup. read more

Most pretentious, over priced place I have ever been since dog existed. For both quality and quantity of the drink if you like your money don't buy anything here. If you like fancy, up scale environment go to a fine dining restaurant, because seating of this place is extremely uncomfortable, you might as well to brew your own coffee and sit outside on the concrete sidewalk. If you like good coffee go to the cafe next door or anywhere for that matter, the coffee here has high acidity which is a telltale sign of cheap coffee. I had the roast beef sandwich on multigrain: nice presentation, flavorful roast beef, and the perfect balance between the substantial bread and the moisture of the tomato and spread. My friend had the quinoa salad: delicious with a great combination of wild rice, avocado, and onion. The staff clearly cares about quality and knowledgeably explains their processes and where they source their products.
