Be advised that NCC will charge a $125 Trip charge on all quotes and Scott (the owner) is unpleasant if you question this charge. When I asked that this $125 trip charge be waived Scott called me 'Entitled' (as well as other names I will not mention) and hung up on me, as he considered it reasonable for this charge to stick for the 5 minutes his technician spent at my home looking at the unit which the tech said did not need any repairs. I think a trip charge of some kind is reasonable, however $125 is excessive especially when it isn't communicated up front and is billed a week after the visit. read more

Their customer service is horrible. I waited 2 weeks for them to come as they are so busy due to the heat. The service time frame was supposed to be between 10-12pm. They do mot give a reminder text or call the day before. When I hadn't heard from anyone by 11am, I called to check. Their phone goes to voicemail immediately. I called twice and left a voice message twice. The technician came at 2pm and he said I was scheduled for 1-3p, which I know I wouldn't have made because I had to leave by 2:30p. Needless to say it couldn't be fixed in that time. Someone finally responded to my phone call at almost 3pm. Scott did call me after apologizing for the confusion and that it might have been scheduled wrong due to how busy and chaotic it has been. If you want a HVAC company that has horrible customer service and is disorganized, this is the company for you. read more

Just had these guys replace a 30 year old AC unit. First, i would tell you that no other company even came close to their quote. They are completely fair and reasonable. I became familiar with Northern Climate Control when I had my furnace replaced under a Blue Ribbon Home Warranty. I scheduled to have maintenance performed today. I made my appointment more than a week ago. I received a voicemail asking if we could bump the appointment out two hours. I never responded; life got busy as it tends to do. I received a call an hour into my appointment window asking if they could come early. Apparently without my confirmation, my appointment time was changed. It would have been cutting it too close with a work commitment. I cancelled and will reschedule with another HVAC company. I need reliability and this company cannot provide that, as the receptionist let me know they had been experiencing scheduling issues the past few weeks. Likely because they will change your appointment without your consent and expect you to scramble and readjust your day to deal with it. They did offer me a $5 military discount off of a $175 service. Less than 3%, knowing this snafu was happening? No thanks. read more

Service on 1/4/21. The tech did not identify himself, have a card, or leave a written invoice. He priced the furnace blower at $500, take it or leave it, I needed heat, so he completed the job...I paid $630. I researched the exact part and found it retailed at $150. Excessive markup. Hands-down the worst experience I've ever had with any vendor doing any work in my home. The business owner is unprofessional, not communicative, and purposely misleading in the information he shares. His technicians who come out to do the work take shortcuts causing problems in your home that they then don't take responsibility for. They installed a new AC unit for me last summer and it's still not working 11 months later and they will not give me appointments in a timely fashion to come look at it even though I'm out of pocket nearly $5000. I reported it June 12, it's now July 6, it's still not working and they won't give me an appointment for it prior to July 11. The business owner is also petty. Because the experience was so bad last summer I took a 10% discount on the project. Then at the very beginning of the summer when the AC was not working, he refused to schedule me for warranty repair unless I paid the discount back, even though it was literally 100° out and my elderly parents who were visiting were suffering from the heat, and he knew my elderly parents both in their 80s have a health issues and needed the AC. I told him all this and he still didn't care enough to get me scheduled to fix the problem unless I paid back the 10% discount. Meanwhile the reason I had taken the 10% discount on the whole project was because when the original tech installed my AC he didn't do a correctly, caused a flood in my basement, and then called me names in my own home when I complained about it. And now even though I have paid the discount back three weeks ago they still haven't fixed my problem. The business owner just used that opportunity to get more money out of me even though he knew he wasn't going to fix it while my elderly parents were in town. And now when I ask him why I can't get scheduled earlier he says they're always booked out at least two weeks. I said even for your warranty customers? People have paid thousands of dollars and you're doing new installations instead of going out and repairing the work you've already done that isn't working? He conveniently did not tell me they were booked out at least two weeks when he collected extra money from me, because he knew I wouldn't have given him more money if I knew the truth. At that time he told me that he would get someone out within a week if I paid the discount back. It was all a ploy because that hasn't happened. All he cared about was getting another $400+ out of me even though I'd already paid him over $4000 and only had working AC for one month out of the past 11 months since installation. The business owner promised me someone would be out within a week when he collected another $400+ but yet a month later my AC is still not working. He won't even return my calls. He doesn't care about me or that my elderly parents needed AC. He doesn't care that I still don't have AC. He's busy raking in the cash for new installations while his warranty customers suffer. It's bad, I've had to get Blueribbon my home warranty people involved to get Scott to respond in a timely fashion. But even they can't force him to do the right thing which is frontload helping warranty customers who've paid thousands of dollars instead of making them wait weeks/months at a time while he does new installations. I'm truly baffled by the way he's treated me throughout this whole thing, I don't know if it's because I'm a single woman and he thinks I'm helpless and he can get away with it or if he just treats all his customers this way. There are much better service providers like Bell Plumbing out there. You might end up paying a few hundred bucks more but worth every penny. read more

This company doesn't care about people with disabilities. Their technician Nick didn't communicate what he was doing. he didn't provide diagnostic report. and they simply are not good. I had an issue with my furnace as i was receiving an error from my ecobee smart thermostat telling me that the Furnace is not heating. I talked to Scot and he tells me" Ecobee is a home depot product and not popular and we don't know this. This shows you how ignorent this company is and not up to date. The only Thermostat they know is Hunnywell. I still asked scot, Is the thermostat you are talking about accessible for people with disabilities? what makes it better than ecobee and he was unable to answer the questions. The issue they came to fix was not fix and they left me with a mess. I do have a disconnected humidifier and they will blame the issue on that which doesn't make any sense. The technition Nick removed some parts of the air cleaner that i have their and left things not the way he found them. No solution or fix was provided. read more

I needed a new AC for my condo as the old system was from 1998 and low on Freon. It was running but not blowing very cold, and I figured it was time for a new system since Freon is now legally obsolete due to EPA regulations this year. I was referred to NCC by a friend who had great experiences with them on his 3 properties and I wasn't hesitant to call them! Scott the owner is very persistent with communication and he takes a special understanding of what the customer really needs for their home. Since my condo isn't a full house I only needed the minimum system for a small unit. The technicians came promptly and knew exactly what to do and showed me any notable changes, like the condenser unit they had to add to the new system. Now I have AC that blows cold like it's supposed to with the newer puron refrigerant, so I'm ready for the summer! Their price was definitely better than any other HVAC company quoted me with the new Rheem system they installed. Their 10 year parts warranty is quite good too considering a system should last 15-20 years. They didn't try to sell me anything unnecessary I didn't need, like another company suggested I needed to replace the line pipes, which would be impossible because this is a condo and I'm not sure how they could change it through the HOA-owned exterior walls. Our gas furnace started making a horrendous noise a few weeks ago. Basically, after 14 years our HVAC system, Heating & A/C were at the end of their life. Scott walked me through why they were not worth trying to fix and it made perfect since to replace them both. Before I called Northern Climate Control, I called two other HVAC company that were both on Dave Logan's and Tom Martino's recommended companies to use. One company gave me a quote for over $21,500. Another company quoted $17,563. What a rip-off! Scott, the owner of Northern Climate Control, gave me a price well below either of these other companies. Not inexpensive by any means, but when compare to the other two companies, it seemed like more than a fair price for an entire new top of the line system. I can't say enough good things about the Northern Climate Control team that showed up, on time as promised, completed the entire job in 5 hours, cleaned up beautifully and provided a thorough walk-through and instructions on how to set and operate my new programmable thermostat. I called NCC based on the glowing Yelp reviews that I read. Now I wish I hadn't. My home air conditioning was "out" & the earliest NCC could schedule someone to come out was almost 2 weeks away. (2 weeks without A/C in late June, early July!!) So I stuck it out and waited. Scott responded & injected some refrigerant into the line telling me "that should take care of it". I had read enough to know that freon doesn't get "used up", so if the refrigerant is low, there's a leak, right? Scott acknowledged that he "shouldn't be doing this", but told me to call back if it doesn't work. (Bill so far: $175). 3 weeks later, surprise! A/C system is blowing warm again. I called NCC back & they scheduled a technician to come out between 3:00 & 5:00 on a Friday. At 5:15 we call to see where the technician is. "He's still on his last job. It will be a few minutes" was the answer. Then we get a quick call back, "Actually, he won't be there at all. He got a flat tire"... seriously? A flat tire? I wanted to offer to go change the flat myself so we could get some A/C back in the house. They tell us it will be Monday before anyone can make it out. (another hot house over the weekend). Oh, and "Scott will call you". Monday comes & no call from NCC. We called another company who came out same day and immediately fixed the problem. Finally got a call from NCC the day after the work was done wanting to schedule someone to come out now. Thanks, but no thanks. Won't be calling NCC back or recommending them to anyone I know. read more

Scott and his crew are simply the BEST PERIOD!! I had made the huge mistake of hiring employees from NOW HEATING AND AIR out of COMMERCE CITY and the work was so bad that my entire HVAC system and tankless water heater had to be torn out and redone from scratch. In fact, the job done by the employees of NOW HEATING AND AIR was so bad that Xcell energy almost shut my house down due to the severe gas leaks they left me with. Everything was red tagged by Xcell and written up. Shoot, the employees of NOW HEATING AND AIR out of COMMERCE CITY even vented my furnace into the basement instead of outside. That alone could have killed us. I called in several companies to look at fixing my system and two of them would not even touch it because of liability issues created by the employees of NOW HEATING AND AIR. THEN COMES SCOTT TO THE RESCUE! Scott was great!! I placed one phone call and he came out the same day to look at the problems and give me an estimate. Not only was he very reasonable, but he did exactly what he said he would do and in the timeframe he gave me. His crew was very professional. You could tell from the workmanship these guys knew what they were doing. These guys have been in the business for over 20 years and it showed. Scott tore everything out and did the job correctly as it should have been done from the very beginning. I now have a brand new HVAC system and tankless water heater that works as it was intended to do and is installed as it should have been. I can't thank Northern Climate Control enough! My home warranty had me use this company to come look at my furnace when it started short cycling. The technician arrived same day and looked at my furnace. He went on telling me that the issue wasnt the furnace but rather the thermostat because of his bias to the Nest I had installed. He didnt do anything other than check the pressure switch on the furnace and then left. He told me to replace the thermostat with a better more expensive one and so I did. This was not the issue at all. I had to call them back after another week with no heat in sub freezing temps. On multiple occasions Scott promised me he would contact me the following day and have a technician come out and look at it again. The technician never came and the calls were never returned. I had to have another company come out and look at it and it was as simple as a bad blower motor. Had it replaced and everything worked fine. I wouldnt be so upset if the bill didnt just arrive in the mail saying that the technician fixed wiring and that I owed them money when he actually didnt do anything but cost me 100's in unnecessary repairs that he made me do MYSELF! This company is a complete joke and I wouldnt reccomend using them even if you have a home warranty company that forces you to. read more

I was forced to use this company through blue ribbon home warranty. It took them over a month an a half to fix the issue since they didn't have any opening and I was not able to use anyone else. This was repaired 09/29/16. AC wasn't used then since it was in the fall. Now that we are using the AC it is not working. They want to charge me an $85 trip charge to come out and inspect what they didn't do right the first time. Also the soonest they can get out to look is over 2 weeks.
