    The double sided pet carrier
    Azariah A.

I had a good experience at this pet shop. Right now they have a 'if you come in you must buy something' policy which might be due to COV19. I came in to buy a pet carrier and found a very cute double sided one with flaps for a good price. They have a huge selection of pet supplies and many pets too but no cats to adopt. The man who worked there was very helpful and was open to conversation about pets. The woman who worked there was quiet and seems more business oriented but thats okay, I really don't mind. There was a younger lady that seemed nice too. I also saw the owners British Short hair cat that looked like the sweetest thing!! I get the feeling that this place does care about animals but they need more lighting, possibly more staff for animal care and some more organizing.

I got my newest baby, Tootsie Roll from here. Looked like it was closed at first. Anyone interested, please get her sister, she is still there. They work with a veterinarian and your overall health check is free. I usually go elsewhere but I happened upon this place. Got some small discounts. Still very expensive for her but you can't put a cost on love I've had my pup for almost a month and have no issues. She's playful, smart and had no low sugar issues. This is a pic of a recent visit. She is playing with her sister.

This is an extremely unprofessional, careless and irresponsible pet store. I sent my dog to the store for grooming and nail, after i went picking him up i found his feet was bleeding and blood everywhere on the car seat. .after I went back to the store and show them what happen . The store owner told me dog have no nerve on nail so they don't feel hurt! Wtf !!! Are u fking kidding me ! Don't suggest you send your dog to this place ! !!! Keep your dog away !!!!!!

Our puppy 3 months after purchase

I bought my great toy Pomeranian here. Although he was a bit pricey he came chipped, with AKC registration papers as well as his breeders information. Place was not filthy just a little run down and dark upstairs. I also feel that most puppies in cages always look sad. Staff was very helpful. Owner gave me a free cage and some food recommendations. The food he recommended was all natural and we continue to give our dog the same brand. It keeps him regular. They also recommended us to a great vet who is been wonderful with our puppy. We even called back about two weeks later when our puppy had a little cough. They gave us medicine for free that the vet approved. It would be great to see the puppies in an open space but to my understanding this place sells their puppies fast. But as I was deciding on my puppy two different people came in and purchased puppies.

I purchased an 8 week old Siberian husky from this store. When purchasing him, I was told he would be covered for his veterinarian cost because this store had close ties with the vet that they recommended me to take my dog to for his shots that he was supposed to get in a few weeks( rabies shot). I was also told he had all the other vaccines he needed and that was the only one he lacked. It was a complete lie.The day I brought him home, he was sleeping a lot and looked a little down. He also had stitches on his stomach that didn't heal. I was told by the woman in the store that he would have diarrhea and be a little off for the first couple of days since he had to be adjusted to his new environment. The day after, my puppy had the worst fever ever and he was vomiting and had diarrhea. He had green mucus by the clumps coming out of his nose and nonstop sneezing and gagging. I called the woman at the store who sold me him and she told me it was normal. I brought him back to the store which she didn't expect to have him checked out there and I was offered something for his cold (a tiny bottle of antibiotic) and was told to go to a vet that had close ties with their store. As the woman was trying to get me an appointment, there was nothing available until a few days after. I was not going to wait a week to get my dog help. I was already a step ahead when I saw my puppy was sick and took my pup to a vet of my choice the next day. I was told by the vet that he had pneumonia and his fever was not normal. This dog was very sick and it was going to cost me a lot to get him better. He needed to be taken to a animal hospital ASAP where he would be monitored. This really scared me because I really thought I was bringing home a healthy puppy. I got attached to him in 2 days and was so sad I had to give him up because he was so sickly. If anybody has a pet they know veterinary and hospital bills are CHEAP. After the vet the next day I brought the dog back to the store and showed them the paperwork and they had no choice but to take him back and refund me my money which I was lucky for. But if your willing to buy a dog, I would not take a look in those store. There are way better puppy mills who breed dogs and rake well care of them. This store has dogs squishing one another in cages and they ingest one another's poop in the cages they sleep in. It smells completely disgusting and animals are so innocent. I feel so bad for the animals in that pet store. They need to be reported ASAP before somebody else buys a sick animal and gets stuck with a nightmare. I got so attached to this poor puppy after being up all night with him for the few days! It was so HARD to give him back!

Got my baby Myla from here. Right place right time situation! Shopping for a Klee Kai wasn't easy as many breeders had a long wait time and were very hard to communicate with. I did some searching through different pet shops within Queens and LI area and found that they either did not have the breed or required down payments and a few weeks wait time. I stumbled upon northern aquarium searching for a pomsky, instead I find this little princess sitting there. It just so happened that northern aquarium received her the night before. As it was my first time shopping for a pup in a pet store I was extremely skeptical and cautious. The owner Jimmy was very straight to the point, knowledgeable about his pups, brought her out to the play pen and let me take a look at all the paper work and answered any questions I had. Once I knew I was taking her home Jimmy was able to give me a small discount and gave me a small starter kit with food and vitamins. The younger gentlemen downstairs (don't recall the name) was also very helpful and was giving me a few tips on breaking her into her new home and whatnot. They do work with a vet however, based on my skepticism about pet shops I decided to take her to Dr. Benson at the pet doctor of flushing (amazing vet) and after a stool sample and a check up she was deemed healthy. Exactly one month later, just want to say thanks to Jimmy and the team at northern aquarium for helping me find my little baby Myla!

If you are looking for a budgie tho this is not the place since they are fully flighted and very hard to tame while the other parrots have more socializing (ask the owner to take out the parrot and show you/he will not be able to do that for the budgies) I bought a parakeet/budgie for 25$, a Cockatiel for 150$ and a green quaker baby for 400$ (all babies or a little older) VERY VERY reasonable price especially compared to petco and other large chain pet stores. Timing on google is kinda off since I asked when I went in person and they said they where open 7 days a week. Even tho my budgie wasn't very tame it made friends with my other one, both my cockatiel and quaker where so friendly but do take a day or 2 to settle down. (Sadly all my birds flew away but I will definitely buy again when im more mature) PLEASE BUY FROM THIS FAMILY OWNED BUSINESS -btw I am only talking for the birds and do not know about the other critters but they did have some adol puppies which looked part German Shepard and sat with the owner

No other grooming salons would do that especially near their closing time. KK was very kind and communicated well throughout the whole process and even took the opportunity to assess my dog's skin condition and educated on a healthy diet for my dog's overall health outcome. My dog can get VERY aggressive when grooming towards us but Jaylin, Pet Home's groomer, was very professional and skillful! She delivered great results despite this obstacle. Pet Home worked as a team to calm my dog during the grooming process, which I was never made aware during all these years of grooming elsewhere. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this place for their professionalism, kindness, attentiveness, and each member's above and beyond customer service. I really felt how genuine they cared for each customer's dogs. They even have a porch with food and water in front of their door for stray animals. This really reflects how much they genuinely care about animals. Bubbles a DEFINITELY be coming back!!!

Now if you are still on the fence about coming here due to some people questioning the durability of MA's fish with them getting sick" within a day or two after bringing home" or that "Selling sick fish is unacceptable". Let me ease your mind. Yes, fish do get sick sometimes. That is always unfortunate. It is also sometimes out of a LFS's control at times. Pathogens, parasites and protozoa are always present in aquaculture. Symptoms may remain dormant or negligible and cannot be detected from a glance. Hence it is why we in the hobby quarantine new fish, not just for diseases we can see but also those we cannot. However sickness can sometimes not be preventable. Something you CAN prevent is a massacre of your whole tank by simply QUARANTINING YOUR FISH. If you allow time to do its thing you will most definitely know whether or not any action needs to be taken. Simply dumping new fish into established tanks just means " I dont care about my fish", " If they die its not my fault since I didnt know they were sick". Now alot of people in this hobby are beginners and thats great! Just learn to ask for help. If help is coming from a person who "pretended he didn't understand what I was saying", GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. There's this pretty neat place call the internet. Oh? you're on it now? WOW! SEE look at that! Not so Hard right? BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!! :) All in all, sorry for the rant. It is just frustrating to see such a good and hard working establishment come under fire from people who dont do their research and go "oh no, the consequences of my actions" when they screw up. K Bye ;)

Last week I bought several fish here, and they turned out to have ich. Within just a few days, every one of them died, and worse, the disease spread to other fish in my tank. This ended up costing me far more than just the fish I bought from the store. Selling sick fish is unacceptable, especially from a store that specializes in aquarium livestock. Longtime customers should not have to worry about bringing disease home from a fish store. After this experience, I seriously question their fish health standards and whether they are properly monitoring the condition of the fish they sell.
