Rude, disrespectful, argumentative staff with chips on their shoulders. Never ends. Not people friendly.

Who has been training dedicated clients outdoors year around at Pelham Bay Park. His location in the grass to the left of the track field is no longer. He has moved to a permanent location where the opportunities to train are endless.... From a boxing ring, to weight bags, kettle bells and even cardio machines. You will never get bored and it is virtually impossible for your body to become complacent with workouts, there is even a intense CrossFit room. The workouts are intense but doable, and tailored to your goals. It doesn't matter if it's weight loss, lifting, toning or training for a marathon like me your goals can be achieved HERE. Clean and well organized, your workouts will never be interrupted because there is room for you to get it in. There is even a message therapist on site to work out those kinks after training hard. As well as private & street parking available. The amount of excitement I have to be back at it with Wilson and Boxingology I can't put into words. This is definitely a place you must check out if you need to stay on track or get back in to the swing of a healthier lifestyle. On top of everything else it's affordable!!!

You will never get bored with all of the different workouts the trainers give you to do. The staff is amazing. For a long time I made up excuses not to go to the gym, but now I can't wait to get to the gym. Wilson Ramos is one of the best trainers. He pushes you to be GREAT! If you don't believe me, go check it out. I promise you will not be sorry. I have been a member for a month and I loved Boxingology the moment I walked in. To see all levels working side by side gave me the motivation to push myself. It's not a cookie cutter gym where one body type fits all. Everyone is welcomed at Boxingology. I'm so glad I'm a member at a gym that allows me to be me and I don't feel out of place.

Former Member - Bronx Native…read more Before I joined the Navy, this gym was my regular spot. I lived five minutes away, born and raised in the Bronx, and for a while it felt like a community space. I'd run into people I grew up with, friends from high school, people I hadn't seen in years. That part meant a lot to me. Unfortunately, the front desk and management ruined it. First issue: I was pressured and misled into buying personal training I didn't need. Once I signed, the trainer couldn't even work with my schedule. No flexibility, no accountability -- just take the money and move on. Second: clear favoritism by staff. Certain people were allowed to play music out loud, break rules, and do whatever they wanted -- but when others did the same thing, suddenly it was a problem. That inconsistency creates a bad environment fast. Third: amenities constantly unavailable. Even years ago, when it was still XSport Fitness, the pool would be randomly closed. Add in parking issues -- paying for parking on certain days on top of a membership -- and it just felt like nickel-and-diming members. The biggest issue, though, was the front desk culture. Unprofessional, dismissive, and uncomfortable energy. There were maybe one or two decent staff members, but overall it felt like complaints were brushed off and members were made to feel like they were the problem for speaking up. I left, moved to California, and honestly thought about coming back to this gym when I returned -- only to find it shut down entirely. That didn't surprise me. When a business ignores its community and runs a place into the ground, this is usually how it ends. It's bittersweet. I'm sad the neighborhood lost a gym, because the community deserves recreational spaces. But I'm not surprised this one didn't survive. Poor management, poor treatment of members, and bad business decisions eventually catch up. I genuinely hope a better gym takes that space -- one that respects the Bronx community and actually runs the place the right way.

The air conditioning was broken for months this past summer -- forcing members, many of whom are minorities, to work out in unsafe heat. The facility is filthy, machines are constantly broken, and the saunas and pool were actually shut down by the health commissioner (yes, you read that right). The leg press has been broken for months, weights are scattered everywhere, and half the benches are ripped apart. The squat rack is always missing plates, and sometimes you can't even find a 10 lb weight. Every machine feels like it's about to fall apart. I tried to stick it out, but you can't even have a decent workout here -- it's impossible to track progress when everything's broken or missing. I finally canceled my membership. This gym is an embarrassment and should be inspected immediately.

I am a 36-year-old…read morewoman, and in nearly 20 years of going to different gyms, I have never experienced a male employee cleaning the women's locker room. I recently had a very uncomfortable experience with this at your facility. When I spoke to a female staff member at the front desk, she explained that there is only one male janitor and one female janitor. If the female janitor is not on shift, the male janitor is scheduled to clean the women's locker room, and he places a sign outside to alert members. She also mentioned that both she and other female members have expressed concerns about this situation. Unfortunately, a sign outside does not protect the privacy of women inside the showers, sauna, or changing areas, as they cannot see the sign once they are inside. During my visit, I personally witnessed an elderly woman in her underwear while the male janitor was cleaning, which was extremely uncomfortable to see and highlighted just how problematic this policy is. Having a male employee clean the women's locker room is, in my opinion, a violation of privacy and creates an environment where many women, including myself, feel unsafe and uncomfortable. I strongly urge management to reconsider this scheduling policy and ensure that only female staff clean the women's locker room.

After saying no multiple time they would not stop and starting following me when I went to walk away. After the session they made me sit down and wanted me to pay $400 a month for personal training. I was a student who told them multiple times I did not want this nor could afford it. They had me sitting there for over an hour telling me I had to sign up and would not take no for an answer while body shaming me in the process. Made me so uncomfortable and I cancelled my membership all together the next day. Personal trainers need to learn to stop harassing members especially younger people because they look like an easier target.
