They also will not honor their comment below and fix the drywall. UPDATE: Downgrading my 2 star review to 1 star. It's been roughly 6 weeks, and I have not heard back from anyone at your company on how to make this situation right. I called in about a week ago and whoever I talked to had no knowledge of any follow up or internal investigation on this as you had mentioned and I had to explain the whole situation from the start. ORIGINAL POST: We had Garrett come out yesterday for a breaker that kept tripping for the circuit running our living room/master bedroom/master bathroom. He ran a diagnostic and got an error code. I was told it would be $1,075 to identify the issue, repair it, and parts/labor to fix it would be "rolled into" the $1,075 charge. After paying the $1,075 they identified the issue and Garret's manager said it was not covered under the $1,075 initial charge, that Garrett told me incorrectly, and it would be another $650 on top of that for a total of $1725. They fixed what needed to be fixed, but now I am left with a drywall repair and a $1725 bill for about 4-1/2 hours of work. Can't help but feel like I got taken advantage of and next time I will call a different electrician with an hourly rate. Everything I'm seeing, Mister Sparky was 3-4x more expensive than the normal hourly rate. There was also a fire alarm and 1 light switch that was left disassembled that I will have to have them come back to reassemble.

Service complete 5/4/26 all in one day. Unfortunately my unit was 16 years old and had a major leak of coolant in the outdoor unit. After talking about all options, and asking a bajillion questions we decided to buy a new unit (SIGH). I want to complement everyone in their team for their professionalism. Never once was there a "this is the only real option for you". It was sensible and top tier with the options they provided. I cannot make a higher recommendation to use their service.

I knew that the issue was and told him. I called him out to replace a capacitor, nothing else. Install that, the unit will kick on. Cheap and easy fix. A gentec cap at Home Depot is about $14. Yep, $14. Discharge the old one with a screw driver, take it off, replace it. Charge me for a service call, maybe jack up the part price a bit, then boom, cool air and that's that. Well I once stopped using this company because it started to seem as if the techs are on salary, plus commission for upselling other services or parts. If this is the case, it makes the possibility for defrauding over over charging customers an obvious issue. Doesn't mean they will all be dishonest, but it would make dishonesty incentivized, and reward those techs that bring in the biggest numbers, and parts sold at an ungodly mark up. When we didn't have Youtube and the internet to cross reference and diagnose issues, and if I did not have a Nephew that is an HVAC tech but that lives too far, I would not be so upset that I felt had. He was a very pleasant person, but maybe this was a part of the manner in which the hammer was applied. So, an issue I have had several times over the course of 223 years of home ownership, that has never run a hair over $200 including the recharge, capacitor, and service call, ran close to $500, just a year past the last time I had this done by a competitor, same city. Another note, upstairs unit was chilly prior to the service of the downstairs unit. When the tech left, upstairs was warm. Not in relationship to the downstairs because of the fix, but unusually warm considering years both ran fine. He mentioned cleaning both. I did not ask for the upstairs to be serviced. What happened to the upstairs unit? What? Was I supposed to then call him back to now "fix" this one that magically started to warm up? Um, No. So I called the company I switched to in the first place. in the words of former President G.W. Bush... "There's an old saying in Tennessee -- I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee -- that says, fool me once, shame on -- shame on you. Fool me -- you can't get fooled again." At least I tried to allow them a chance for redemption. Seems like they are determined to upsell themselves out of my consideration ever again.
