I've always received excellent care from Dr. Terry Chin, but my recent experience with the front…read moredesk was very disappointing. When I called about my prescription expiring on 11/26, I scheduled the next available appointment for 12/30, which meant I would be without contacts for 13 days and needed a few sample lenses to bridge the gap since I couldn't purchase more with an expired prescription. When I requested samples, the receptionist was dismissive and offered no help. When I asked if she could check with Dr. Chin, she replied--in a tone that made me feel as if I should have known better--that he was with patients all day. I explained that I understood, but hoped she could ask him at some point when he wasn't actively with a patient. Despite this, she never followed up. I emailed the office today, following up on my call from Monday, explaining the terrible experience I had with the woman I spoke with and again asking that my message be passed along to Dr. Chin, as he deserves to know why a long-time patient is leaving. And once again--no response. At the very least, a response to my email should have been a basic professional courtesy, but I didn't receive any acknowledgment whatsoever. Do better, front office at Andover Eye. After reading other reviews of AEA, there seems to be a consistent theme of dissatisfaction with the front desk staff. It's surprising that nothing has been done to address it, and it makes me wonder whether the doctors are even receiving this feedback. I hope this message ultimately reaches Dr. Chin. He has always been excellent, but the lack of support and communication from the front desk ultimately led me to seek care with a new provider. On a positive note, I want to give a shout-out to the optical office staff--they have consistently been terrific.

I got a revision surgery on only my right eyelid back in October 2025. Dr. Townsend did my right…read moreeyelid because he said the reason why my left eyelid is still looking droopy is because the eyelid creases are uneven. So to even it out he made the eyelid crease on my right eyelid to match my left eyelid. Enough time has passed to heal and see the results and I'm STILL noticing my left eyelid still droopy. I notice it in the mirror, when I'm taking a picture, I feel it still droopy and it still bothers me. I notice that on my right eyelid there is some extra skin on my inner eyelid crease that doesn't match the inner left eyelid crease. It just looks weird and I'm still self conscious about my eyelids. I look closely at the pictures I take of my eyelids and notice my left one is still droopy. I was told he fixed the levator muscle but I don't think the ptosis is fixed. When Dr. Ward owned it, it was like a family run, practice with individualized, caring, and exceptional care. The new owner of the practice actually told my family to find a new provider. The office is clean and usually punctual. Based on this I had referred my husband and others to the practice. The unfortunate - my 6 year old was evaluated and in dire need of glasses. There was not much inventory for a young child so I left having been advised that they'd have more samples in a few days and I'd get an email or text with the styles to evaluate in advance. This was 12/9. I waited several days, then began to follow up... phone calls, voicemail, text messages...absolutely no reply. None. I figured holiday hours and schedules could warrant a delayed response... but it's now 12/30 and still no response. My husband went in person to perhaps see if they were closed and maybe forgot to update their voicemail... and to our surprise the office was open! There was no acknowledgement of my numerous attempts for outreach, and even asked if I wanted to wait for the new samples to come in...um, no! My child needs these to see, and it's already been 3 weeks!! Mistakes happen, but good customer service and communication goes a long way, and this was totally absent from my recent experience. Needless to say, I asked for the prescription and will be filling it elsewhere.

A life-changing and eye-opening experience. For years, I tolerated the big box "eye care"…read moreexperience due to the convenience and "affordability." However, after moving to N. Andover, I decided to seek a new eye care provider, and fortunately, I discovered Family Eye Care and Dr. Patti. Today, I have an entirely new perspective on eye care and the importance of finding a practice that takes the time to educate its patients and invests in the latest technology to ensure its patients receive the best care. No dilatations and puffs of air make the experience even better. Unbeknownst to me, I have been tolerating FINE contacts, as I've been wearing the same brand for a decade. Now, I have a new look on life and have learned a great deal about my eyes and how to care for them and adequately handle my contacts to ensure they feel great! Highly recommend this practice -- you'll be pleased with your decision to take your vision seriously.

This is one of the most disparaging and pathetic experiences I have ever had at an eye exam place…read morein 15 years. I was consistently forcefully ignored, belittled and patronized about my capability to afford anything outside of what my insurance allowed. And the woman that handled my service or lack thereof refused any feedback on the type of glasses I was looking to purchase, she was outright indignant and belittling but yet when other caucasian patrons walk into your establishment they were greeted warmly and talked to respectfully. to make matters worse, the glasses that I picked out weren't even the ones I received in fact they weren't even in the same class. I expressed my budget and willingness of $575 to spend on glasses and yet they charged my insurance for those glasses and they didn't even have the decency to give me the ones that I picked out to purchase defeating the whole purpose of the $575 out of insurance budget, Hence I was more than fiscally able to purchase a pair of my choosing regardless of what insurance covered . I will never do business with this company again, but maybe that was their whole gold to discourage people with disabilities or under insured individuals from returning?? I could be completely wrong, well I'm just speculating but in any case I will not go back because i'm no longer a glutton for punishment.
