After 4 years of putting off my earlobe reconstruction, Dr. Schlecter was able to efficiently and effectively reconstruct one fully-torn earlobe and one enlarged lobe. He is straight-to-the-point, transparent, and quick in his work - I had full confidence and comfort in his abilities and experience by how seamlessly and effortlessly he was able to assess, repair, and evaluate. He used full anesthetics during the procedure and when piercing my ears with posts. Both the procedure and re-piercing with posts cost a total of ~$800. A scar is (naturally) visible, but it is very faint and small. The front desk staff does not represent the practice well, as the receptionist(s) tend to be curt, abrasive, unorganized, and discombobulated - both in person and over the phone. They certainly lack in customer service at all points and the office would benefit if they switched up their attitude. If I could give this place Zero stars I would. I just got my third micro needle/laser done on Friday(July 14th) only to find out today that Tuesday (July 18th) that Tracey would NO longer be there! I am a person who has some deeper acne scars that need more than 3 treatments. How unprofessional of anyone in the middle of trying to achieve better skin be told LAST MINUTE that she would no longer be there. How unprofessional of a company to allow this after spending over 2,000 there!!!! Also, if I hadn't called HER would I have even found out before having a 4th micro/laser???!!! I am beyond pissed especially after i also spent over 500 in facial products from them on Friday! AVOID! I am going somewhere else that will care about my long term results not just their pockets!!! Then tells me we are in the middle Of hiring and and I don't know who would take you next!!! What the heck???? There are other things I want to address and would have been spending more $$ there but after this no thanks ! read more

I had my earlobes repaired a couple of years ago and I was referred to Dr. Schlechter by a few friends who had a similar procedure by him as well. I really liked that I could send photos of the earlobes to expedite things and then do the consult and treat in one visit. He did explain how to care for the ears after the procedure and avoid having them stretch or tear again. I had them fixed previously by another plastic surgeon by I did not realize that going back to wearing heavy earrings it could happen again. The doctor was such a professional and very skilled. Dr. Schlechter and his team are wonderful. I had double chin liposuction with jowl contouring performed in March of 2021. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional at the consultation, and I left feeling confident that it would be a good experience. The day of the procedure was so easy!! I only needed local as opposed to general anesthesia ( as explained to me at the consultation) and the whole procedure took maybe 35 minutes. The post operative care was explained well, and it was a very easy recovery with great results. I also started getting botox with Dr. Schlechter last summer, in addition to receiving dermaplane and laser genesis facials with his esthetician Tracy. I highly recommend this team. read more

I've had 2 Cutera V laser treatments with Juana (their former aesthetician) and they were amazing. Juana was AMAZING! She washed my face first, made sure I was comfortable on a bed with blankets, gave me eye protection, and took her time to make sure she hit every vein that "I designated as a problem." She was a rare find to say the least and this practice is going to have a hard time filling her shoes. She treated me with care, the utmost knowledge, kindness, honesty, and professionalism. My 3rd experience was today with Dr. Schlechter for the same treatment. He walked in the room having never met me and said, "You have some veins you need taken care of?" I thought he would at least introduce himself and ask where I felt my problem areas were. He didn't wash his hands or my face first, gave me gauze and told me to place it over my closed eyes for eye protection, I laid back in a leather chair, and he zapped my veins for maybe 5 minutes. He didn't wash the goop off of my face before I left. I was beyond offended, but I didn't speak up, and I should have. I think he is very busy, and at the same time, the service that I receive should not suffer because he is too busy. I want to believe that Shelly at the front desk means well, but she is very scattered, and doesn't focus on the client as a client. She focused on me like someone that she had to "check out" at the front desk. Yes, I believe she had a lot going on at one time, but the "client should never see you sweat"....not that much. I signed the wrong receipt and she said in a hurried tone, "No, you need to sign this one." "You need" isn't the best choice of words to a client that you want to keep. "Oh, would you please sign this one" would have been better received. I will continue bringing my business to another plastic surgeon and med spa that I love in Northbrook and have been going to for a little over a year now for skincare (dermaplaning, skin peels, dermapen, etc.). The only reason I didn't go to them for this laser treatment is because they don't provide this type of laser. But, their aesthetician and Dr. are top notch professionals, and their front desk staff are amazing! 8/21/18 Update: Dr. Schlechter called me to discuss my post. He apologized, and explained that his approach is very different from his former aesthetician, and that his focus is on maximizing results without the "aesthetic" experience. He is about solving the problem which is greatly appreciated, but I explained that I was looking for more of a dialogue around the procedure before it took place, and the same level of experience that I received with Juana. That was part of the disconnect for me yesterday. However, he did offer to provide me with a complimentary facial and free re-touches from the laser if necessary. He expressed that he wants me to be happy, and expressed appreciation to have the opportunity to address the negative feedback. read more

I've never had any work done before. I have lost a lot of weight & felt the lines in my face were more pronounced & made me feel bad about myself. I searched out a Plastic Surgeon because I wanted everything to be explained. I wanted to discuss the lines in my face, and my husband wants me to get information about an arm lift. The staff in this office are very sweet & welcoming! However, found the doctor cold, not informative & basically made me feel like he was annoyed. I knew nothing about Botox & didn't even know where it was applied. Since I waited 3 weeks for an appointment, I had him do the Botox treatment. Truthfully I wanted to discuss other things with him, but he seemed so disinterested in me, I was not comfortable. This doctor didn't seem to have the time or interest in a discussion with me. My forehead looks good, I guess since I have no idea what to expect. I'm gave 3 stars for the office staff, & I guess my forehead looks ok. But I won't be going back. read more

Do NOT go here! They do not stand behind their work! I had my ear sewn and after 1 1/2 years the hole came back. They wanted me to pay again for the exact same surgery with no consideration of a discount! I wasn't expecting anything for free but some sort of compensation would have been appreciated. I had such a fantastic experience with Dr. Schlechter and his office I am recommending him to everyone. From the beginning of the consultation process I was confident he was the right doctor for me because he was such a great listener and knew exactly what I wanted to achieve. I was so impressed to learn that he would perform my surgery in his immaculate, state of the art surgery center right there, and see me the very next day to check on me and answer any questions I might have. Of course, he was available to take a call the night of the procedure, but his care instructions were so clear, I didn't feel the need to call. Another doctor in our area has people stay in a rehab center the first night with a nursing assistant which was very unappealing to me, and made me feel like he just didn't want to get late night calls. My husband is way better than a nursing assistant and who doesn't want to be in their own bed? Dr. Schlechter offered ongoing follow up appointments which made me feel that he really cared. Of course the most important thing to mention is the result- I look SO MUCH YOUNGER and the best part is- no one has ever been able to tell I had "work" done. Dr. Schlechter truly has a gift as a surgeon- I am so grateful I found him! I guess the best way to illustrate my satisfaction with his care is that in spite of the fact that I paid for his services (reasonable fees) I actually gave him and his lovely and attentive staff boxes of candy for my final visit. I had a great experience with Dr. Schlechter when he repaired my ear when my earing hole split open. Dr. Schlechter was very gentle and calm which put me at ease and he did a great job fixing the hole. I was really worried there would be a scar on my earlobe but it healed perfectly and he pierced the ear again once it healed and it looks great! I will definitely return for any other cosmetic needs I have. While I was there I also asked about some antiaging products to help keep my skin looking fresh and young and they have a whole line of products for all different needs. I spoke with a specialist on the products who helped explain everything without being pushy, just very informative. I ended up with a few things that I have loved. I am 48 years old and Dr. Benjamin Schlecter recently performed a revision mastopexy and "mini" abdominoplasty (first procedures were performed by another surgeon) and I have been thrilled not only with the recent outcome, but the follow through and care that Dr. Schlecter and the entire staff provided. Revision surgery is very complex, not to mention scary for the patient and I'm very glad I chose a skilled surgeon who has over 20 years experience in the field. He and Ivy listened to my specific concerns regarding the first surgeries, and took the time with three separate physical consults (at no cost to me) to be sure they heard exactly what my realistic expectations were. They went above and beyond before, during, and after the surgery. I was in contact with someone whenever I needed a question answered. I never waited more than a few hours for someone to get in touch with me. Usually within minutes! Even the anesthesiologist called me directly within 24 hours post op. This is unheard of. My pain levels were constantly monitored and kept at a very tolerable level through the use of Exparel (not all surgeons offer or know how to use) and appropriate after care. I did not require a pain pump. North Shore Aesthetics made me (and my husband) feel completely at ease and full of knowledge throughout the process. As an added bonus, their on-site operating facility is state of the art, exceptionally clean and unlike any other surgical center I toured. I'm very grateful to Dr. Schlecter and his entire team for treating me like "family" versus just another patient with a checkbook. To me, this was invaluable. read more

She accused me of not canceling an appt. which I had and told me I was not allowed to ever schedule another appt. The doctor also was not even coming in that day because he cancels appts. Dr. Schlechter is a total gem! I am so glad I found this doctor! I am new to the North Shore area and needed a new plastic surgeon for my Botox and fillers. His office is gorgeous. During my appointment, he was very personable. After I got my Voluma and Botox, I asked him what he thought about me getting a face lift. Dr. Schlechter took a lot of time explaining the details about the surgery, but what I appreciated most about my appointment was that even after taking all that time talking with me about face lifts, he said to me, "Quite honestly, you are not ready for a face lift yet. Give it a few years and we can revisit the idea, but for right now, stick with the fillers." I liked his demeanor and that he was not pushing me toward a procedure that I was only thinking about having.
