Since I can remember my nose has been a major insecurity. At a very young age a bump on my nose began to develop and as I got older it not only grew, but my awareness of its largeness intensified. The frontal view of my nose was not unattractive, however from the side view it stuck out. I have played competitive soccer at a very high level for the longest time and because of its demanding time commitment, I was never able to change my appearance, yet within the last two month I quit soccer. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Geroulis and his entire staff. Exactly one week ago he performed a lower eyelid blepharoplasty with a partial chemical peel on me. The purpose was to remove fat pads and darkness under my eyes, that significantly aged me and gave me a very tired appearance (I'm 43 and too young to always look exhausted). This is something that has bothered me horribly for years. For the last 2 years I have been doing extensive research about the procedure and consulting with several doctors in Chicago (5 to be exact), but never felt comfortable to proceed with surgery until I met Dr. Geroulis. He is a true artist and very conservative in his approach. I was very concerned about looking like I had had plastic surgery "over-done" and "plastic", which is so common these days. He assured me that his philosophy is not to make people look "over-done", but to make them look like a youthful, more refreshed version of themselves. I am confident to say that already, 1 week post-op, that is exactly what he has done for me! Dr. Geroulis is a genuine, mindful, highly skilled surgeon who's primary focus is patient safety/comfort and satisfaction. He truly listened to me and was willing to consult with me as many times a necessary to answer all of my questions both prior to and following my surgery. He even gave my husband and me his personal cell phone # following surgery and insisted we reach out to him, at any time, if I experienced any complications or had questions. That is extremely rare from a doctor, typically you must call an after-hours answering service and sometimes wait quite a while before you get a call back. My overall experience was fantastic, very easy and so far my results are great. I experienced minimal swelling, almost no bruising and NO pain. His office was immaculate with a relaxing and beautiful atmosphere. The staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Everyone addressed me by my first name and made me feel as if I was the only patient they had to attend to. I had the good fortune of being referred to Dr.Anthony Geroulis last year for a face and neck lift and blepharoplasty.I have been an RN for 40 years and I am well aware of all of the choices I had for a surgeon. After doing my due diligence I decided that Dr. Geroulis was the best choice. Little did I know at that time how truly ethical and honest he was. Over the years working as a nurse, I have seen some physicians not do the right thing by patients, particularly when it comes to fees for services rendered, but after spending a considerable amount of time discussing realistic outcomes for the surgery, I felt quite reassured. Because I have a short neck and had quite a bit of fat stored under my chin, I was concerned that the surgery was not going to be a simple facelift and that the outcome might not be what I hoped for. After almost a year of healing had occurred neither Dr.Geroulis nor I were completely satisfied with the results,though I looked significantly better. Without my asking Dr.Geroulis suggested that I have a revision of the facelift. He said he would take me back to the operating room, and do what was necessary to give me a better look.The surgery went very well, I am completely thrilled with the outcome, I look like a younger, well rested version of myself and I would not hesitate to recommend Dr.Geroulis to anyone I know. Though I was expecting there would at least have been a facility charge for the operating room, drugs, supplies and nursing care there were none. Dr. Geroulis far exceeded my expectations in revision upper eyelid repair surgery, done by an occuloplastic surgeon years ago. The original surgeon had left me with asymmetry, a lot of scar tissue, extra skin, and fat that should have been removed. It also appeared one eye didn't close all the way while asleep. I had consulted with 2 other cosmetic surgeons and even 2 "top" occuloplastic surgeons, all who had turned me away and said my case was too risky and inoperable. Being a Chicago native, I had heard Dr. Geroulis' name before, but when I saw his work pop up on Realself.com, I felt I should consult with him ASAP. During the consultation, Dr Geroulis will not just tell you what you want to hear. He will be honest about what can be done and is modest in making promises. I respect that! I also had a hunch that I would be very pleasantly surprised, based on his confidence, experience and expertise, along with the before/after a I saw of other patients. Both the downtown office and Northfield surgical center are pristine and beautiful. The staff and surgical team were all very friendly, professional, and caring. Vanessa is great and will help walk you through preparing for your surgery and aftercare in a clear and concise manner. I was kept comfortable, with warm blankets during the 2 hr surgery and recovery has been a breeze so far. I am nearly a week post-op and can already see such a major difference in both the aesthetics and functionality of my eyelids. I already have the highly coveted "bedroom eyes" that I wanted and look years younger! Around five years ago I had rhinoplasty done with a different doctor and around three years after my procedure I would always complain about having difficulty breathing. I visited several different doctors and all of them convinced me that this was an allergy problem. I took several allergy medications, washed my nose consistently, etc but still could't breathe. I lived with this discomfort until around 6 months ago, I got a Ct scan- the results showed that my problem was a result of a structural issue with my nose most likely caused by my rhinoplasty in 2012. I decided that I was too young to live with the uncomfortable and scary feeling of not being able to breathe normally, so after doing a lot of research I chose Dr. Geroulis to perform my septoplasty. I chose to not change the appearance of my nose this time and just fix the structural problems inside. Therefore, the healing process was quicker/ I looked the same after. If you are considering getting this same surgery or any type of cosmetic surgery, I highly recommend Dr. Geroulis. There was very little downtime after surgery (i went to a party 9 days after) and he gives you plenty of vitamins to take before/after to assist in the healing process. It's almost two months post surgery and I already can breath without hesitating (couldn't do this before) and am able to sleep much better at night. I had rhinoplasty 18 years ago by Dr Geroulis. He was a very caring and compassionate man. Coming from a RN, that means a lot. It was my second reconstruction. The first time I was 15 and the guy did a horrible job and took out way too much cartilage. This left Dr Geroulis with nothing to work with. He told he had to use some type of synthetic or cadaver materiel to replace what was removed. My bridge was very narrow and thin. The nares started to cave in from no support. I was told by him and another top plastic surgeon in Chicago that it would continue to cave in...OH Yeah! He told me if I had it done at U of C, that a resident would be holding the knife and with a redo, he would recommend that he held the knife. So, I was done in his out patient center. I stayed in a hotel, as his suggestion, so I wouldn't have the long commute in the morning to see him. I think I have cadaver materiel in my nose but I'm not sure. He wouldn't tell me! HA. Dr. Geroulis did my rhinoplasty last summer and I couldn't be happier! I was only 17 when I got it done so I was nervous and didn't know what to expect. He stitched up my sons cheek when he was hit in the face with a golf club at 10 yrs old I panicked and called Dr. G he very kindly had us come in to be stiched up There's no scar. Fast forward 15 yrs and he has helped my son again. As a baskeballer he broke his nose several times. He was advise to wait until he was playing to "fix" it. I first went to Dr Greoulis in June 2019 after I a previous eye procedure left me with deep hemosiderin (blood) stains under both eyes. Dr G.
