Visited this lovely shop in Mattituck this weekend and was especially impressed by the beautiful crafted chocolates. The store is adorable with cute displays . At this location , besides candy , they have waffles, ice cream, pastries and coffee drinks . Everything is made on site and it all looks so delicious.! It may seem a bit pricey for some but you get what you pay for. The high quality of the chocolate is well worth it ! I did try several of the crafted candies , a salty dog and moscato both were delicious and decadent . I also tried a few truffles, a pistachio and a hazelnut both delicious , the hazelnut was my favorite . The chocolate is rich , creamy and not overly sweet . Perfection ! Also went for the dark chocolate fruit and nut bark which was amazing! If you are a chocolate lover this is the place for you ! read more

This place deserves more attention than it receives. From their website: Everything made on Premises from Scratch. This is 100000% true! SO DARN FRESH! My hubby and I were in the area today and stopped in. We've been to their old location but never this one. It's bright with a lot of light with tons of offerings: ice cream, fudge, chocolate truffles, chocolate lollipops and more. The employees were very nice and were packaging their goodies up behind the register so yes, everything is made there! I had the chocolate fudge and my goodness, it is the best fudge I have ever had. It's so rich and beyond fresh. I cannot explain how perfect it is. Do yourself a favor and go here. read more

We went to the store in Mattituck and the chocolate was pretty tasty although quite expensive which would have been ok, but the lady behind the counter had zero personality and wasn't helpful at all. I think that if you want to succeed in this type of business, besides having great chocolate, you need to have personnel that add to the ambience, not take away from it. I imagine that good help is hard to find, especially out East. The decor is very nicely done and the outdoor tables are a nice option. I really want to see this place succeed in Mattituck so when hiring please get personnel that want the place to succeed too. read more

I have passed this place a million times on my way to the North Fork.We finally went on Valentine's Day and it was worth the trip. The chocolate was incredible. You could actually taste the rich ingredients. With the Amore chocolate ,I could literally taste the best strawberry preserve, so good. I want to go back and buy another box that's how much we loved the chocolate tasting. We enjoyed every chocolate we tasted.The hot chocolate was so good as well. I like that they have indoor seating, as well as art gallery next door. Can not wait to return the next time I am on the north fork. read more

Took my Valentine for some sweets. The place is very nice. They offer alot of places to sit and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and chocolates. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable. There choice of popular chocolates is right on. I really like the art gallery next to the chocolate shop The selections of chocolates are amazing. So many different flavors to try. It makes it hard to pick. I was disappointed that they were out of the Root beer chocolate, but I look forward to trying it next time. I would have given this place five stars but they are very pricey and the chocolate pieces are very small. read more

I was in the area for a YES event but had a craving for some dessert and noticed this spot close by. This shop is so cute! It has seating in the front and the store extends to the back with tons of trinkets, art and other miscellaneous items you can buy. You can make your own box of chocolate or you can purchase any of their pre-packaged chocolates from throughout the store. They also have dessert, coffee/tea and ice cream. I noticed a meal menu so I will come back here in the summer to check that out! My friend and I got a little gluttonous but we were very happy with all of our choices! We had their flourless chocolate cake, hot chocolate and shooters. The salted caramel shooter was so decadent and one of my favorite items. Their pumpkin spice crem brûlée was packed with flavor! North Fork Chocolate Company, I've never been to your location. Last weekend my wife & I were at the gift shop in the Riverhead Cider House. I pick up a bag of your Chocolate Bark: Dark Chocolate 65% with local sea salt & roasted almonds. We get in the car and are driving back, my wife decides to open the bag. While I'm driving, I see her in a chocolate coma. She's chocolate wasted! She says, you have to try this chocolate right now!! She's raving to me, this is the best chocolate she's had in a long time. It was sooooooo good! Big, juicy toasted almonds with a hint of sea salt. The dark chocolate blend was the perfect amount of not being too sweet, good job folks. 5 stars from me today. read more

We wanted to love this chocolate because the store seemed so cute and we had passed it so many times. We usually go to another chocolate shop a few minutes away in Mattituck but figured we should try this one. The chocolates are eh okay but way overpriced for just okay chocolate. What made us write this review is the Rice Krispie treat.. we had to spit it out. It was the worst thing any of us have ever tasted. I wish we enjoyed it all because it was so pricey but I don't like to write poor reviews but this was that bad. The store itself is cute and they have pretty chocolate gifts. read more

Chocolate. After our North Fork Wine Crawl, we saw a cute chocolate shop on the road, did a double take, looked at each other and said, "Why not!" No reviews got me scared! This HAS to be some Alice in Wonderland thing. Does this even exist?! We'll try to come back and never find it.. Lol! I can't promise you it's there bc this MAY have been an illusion. Walking in, the store empty, a lady faintly smiles and says, "Hi". Perusing the displays of small, dainty pieces of chocolate, we were defn overwhelmed. My gf sees a chocolate fondue sign and loses it. It got crazy and dirty. CRAZY We were dipping.. pretzels, bananas, strawberries, BANANA BREAD, I even licked the chocolate off my ladyfingers. DIRTY The chocolatier came and lit the fondue in the beginning. The chocolate was divine. However, as we ate, the smooth ganache SLOWLY turned into a sticky burnt clunky GLOP. The candle went out - that didn't help bc the chocolate cooled. After relighting, the chocolate was unfortunately unable to be salvaged, but we enjoyed the velvety texture at the start. They have wine but you can bring your own too! No corking fee :) Interior wood floors are very nice. Fireplace, tables and couches! Cool shop, kind ppl and tasty Chocolate! I visited the store today for a few Easter items. I looked around soon to discover that the chocolate must be made of gold. I was shocked when a 4 inch chocolate bunny was 16.99. I bought two and I was done. My daughter bought two macaroons for 6.00 and she spit them out, they tasted like refrigerator.I can't believe they're still in business. The older woman behind counter was not very friendly either. Go down to the Jamesport Country store for great Easter chocolate at fair prices. read more

I'm giving 5 stars specific to the chocolates as they are beautiful and exceptional. The glazed red hearts with cherries is absolutely exquisite! A box of this bonbon alone would seal the deal for Valentine's Day. The prices are a tad high but for the quality of the chocolates, it's worth it. My husband and I both got a taster sampler box (4 chocolates) so we tasted 8 in total. Every one of them was a standout. Each box was $8. We also got a hot chocolate (pretty good), a small apple pie tort (not terrible), and for some ungodly reason my husband grabbed a bag of chocolate covered oreos (not even worth acknowledging, LOL.) But the star of the show here are the chocolates. Someone knows what they are doing when it comes to making these, and it's a mystery how they came to master the art of confectionary. I've passed the shop a million times when it was in Aquebogue and avoided it simply because of the zoo menagerie on the front lawn. When it opened in Mattituck, I made a point of stopping in to support them. The dull facade is simply not welcoming and the shop itself is somewhat chaotic. There is no sophistication in the decor that you'd associate with this level of chocolates. There is not even a hint of marketing acumen displayed, even though many of the chocolates are made with local wines and ingredients. I could easily imagine a cross-marketing campaign with the chocolates being offered at any of those featured vineyards, paired with cheeses. It's a no-brainer. The chocolates simply exist as if they appeared from another place and time. And although the shop is not appealing to me overall, damn if I won't be back for those chocolates. read more

This a review of the chocolate only, not the store: I recently purchased a milk chocolate bar at the new Taste NY shop on the LIE. It was probably a 1.5 oz bar. It was very fresh, but it was a bit lacking and felt a bit greasy. It was also $5.00. Wayyyyy overpriced and didn't taste any better than a store bought Cadbury or Lindt milk chocolate bar. Not the quality I expected for $5.00. Should be $2.50-$3.00 tops. read more

It may be a bit pricy, but this place has the best fudge you can get on Long Island period. There are other chocolates and Knick-knacks as well there, but to is the fudge is the best. read more

Ok. Finally got a chance to go. I loved the gifts from other local artisans. The chocolate here is GOURMET. This is not American style, Hershey's or Whitmans. The chocolates are hand made with great/fresh ingredients. Yes the bites are small. The bites are supposed to be small. Pair them with wines and meats ! Yes meats. Ever have roast duck with chocoalte, cherry and red wine sauce? The dark chocolate here would be great for that receipe ! A lady leaving was bitching about the chocolates being small. I will never enter this establishment again. The owners were rude and judgmental. I have worked in retail and I know the fear of having people use your restroom and make a mess. They have a purchase to use the bathroom policy which is perfectly fine and understandable. My fiance purchased something and used the restroom. The owner kept rushing us every two minutes. She kept asking why he was taking so long and saying someone else had to use the bathroom. There was no one else waiting. She should learn not to be so judgmental of a woman with purple hair and a witch style hat, and a man in a kilt. I know influential individuals in the town who will certainly be hearing about my experience. And I will tell everyone I know not to go there. Please treat your customers with more courtesy of you would like to keep them. read more

Went to the Aquebogue location. It's a good idea to have the store sell different items from different vendors, not just chocolate. They sell soaps, jewelry, cookies, candles, gourmet tea (in bottles). They have a variety of chocolate flavors; but it seems like a third of the different flavors are not available. We held a private event here and had an awesome time. Steve and Ann are great people who went out of their way to make sure everyone was happy. The food prepared by Chef Steve was amazing and of course so was the cake and fondue! They made delicious chocolate favors for us as well...our guests were super impressed as were we. Good selection, but is very pricey. The store is not very kid-friendly, which is too bad given that even though they aim to sell gourmet goods, bottom line it's still a chocolate store and should be a nice, fun place to visit. read more
