Tons of outdoor seating and an indoor/outdoor patio (with AC) with wifi and tables and seats. They have weekly scones which look fantastic. Breakfast sandwiches too (I think). Staff are incredible. The chai itself was quite sweet and nothing for me to write home about, but I'd come back and try another drink! My version of chai is spiced with whole spices - maybe a bit more traditional - but if you like their concentrate, you'll probably love it
This place is absolutely incredible. The chai itself is so delicious, and very much worth what you pay for. I also saw many reviews on the scones and how good they were, and let me just say they did NOT disappoint either. The drinks came out quickly and now I understand why they sell their concentrate like everywhere. The scones were huge and delicious, soft and bouncy. I will definitely be coming back again!
North Fork is an absolute gem of a business and a real treat to visit. Their scones are incredible. It's like they're made with magic because I haven't tasted a better scone anywhere else. They have flavors that you don't normally see and somehow all of them turn out amazing. They're not super sweet and are pillowy and soft, plus they are huge! It's a small shop but there's seating space in a back patio area that was heated and very cozy. Service was great, no complaints and they try to do what they can given how many people line up to shop. Their chai latte and concentrate is bold and flavorful. It's pretty sweet so just keep that in mind but I was not expecting my chai latte to be so good given the light color of it.
Found a kind of local place that makes chai concentrate! I'm so happy. I came around lunch time so line out the door. That really wasn't a problem as I got to know people in line. My question "why are you here?" One gal had chai served to her by a friend using North fork concentrate. She loved it so much she was buying 6 bottles as she doesn't live too close. Next person I'm here to buy soup. They make fantastic soup. She got 2 refrigerated and 2 frozen. Line moved at a moderate pace and the cashier was calm and pleasant the whole time. Even when I asked if they had vegan choices. He really put some thought into it and knew what I was asking for. I bought 1 chai concentrate, 1 pumpkin chai concentrate and 1 container of sleepy tea I can't remember the name off the top it has mint, chamomile, and lavender. My daughter and I love it. The concentrate is pretty good. Started with the pumpkin first. I love a dirty chai at home. I didn't get a chance to get a good look around, but look forward to next time.
North Fork was a mid-morning coffee stop on the way down to Sacramento. So glad we took the short detour to stop by! North Fork has a great menu and lots of food options, but most importantly they are serving up great chai. Fast service and chill vibes here at North Fork. Lots of great outdoor space as well! I do think the prices are a little high here, but the coconut chai was super tasty and the matcha chai was also a winner. My wife did the Build Your Own breakfast sandwich and really enjoyed it. What a fun idea to be able to add so much customization! They have a lot of house made items here available for purchase and that can be put on some of their food options. While it's a bit off I80 and may not be a part of your scheduled stops while driving through the area, North Fork is worth swinging by.
We have loved finding this little gem!! Outdoor seating and a covered/ enclosed area too with cute decor and a relaxing vibe. Amazing chai lattes, coffee, scones, and sandwiches!! Best sandwiches we have had to date with so much flavor. My husband doesn't even like scones but loves the scones here-Both the sweet and savory flavors! The staff are always friendly and kind.
I've been wanting to visit North Fork Chai Co. in Newcastle for a while now! Many of my favorite local coffee shops use North Fork's chai syrup, and it's my go-to for making dirty chais at home--so I was excited to finally stop by. My wife and I visited today for coffee and some treats, and it did not disappoint. I ordered their seasonal Coconut Chai flavored dirty chai, and it had just the right amount of coconut flavor--smooth, balanced, and delicious. I paired it with their avocado toast, which was fresh and satisfying. My wife had the Breakfast Brioche Sandwich, and it was packed with flavor. We couldn't resist trying a couple of scones: the strawberry apricot scone and the vanilla bean scone with dirty chai glaze. Both were perfect for satisfying a sweet tooth--moist, flavorful, and just the right amount of sweetness. The location itself is inviting, with plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the sunshine. Inside, they offer a variety of goods to take home, from teas and jams to coffee beans, mugs, and more. The service was quick and everyone had a smile on their face. Overall, we had a great experience sitting out front, enjoying our sunny morning. Their chai syrup alone is enough to make me love this place, but after this first visit, I'm even more excited to return!
Delicious dirty pumpkin chai! We had bacon breakfast sandwich with pepper jack cheese, chipotle mayo and mixed greens. The bun had the perfect crunch and not too spicy of chipotle. Will definitely eat that again. Our daughter had a sausage breakfast sandwich and said it was good too.
What a lovely shop! I love their chai and have had it at other shops but never gone up to their storefront! The young man taking my order was friendly and helped give me recommendations. I got an iced dirty chai with oat milk. The chai was delicious, but the ICE! I am obsessed 10/10. Also tried the pumpkin walnut scone, it was the best s one I have ever had. It was soft, moist and huge! The outside area was cute with plenty of seating out in the sunshine.
I've been visiting this store for about a year and it's easily my favorite place to run away to when I need a warm cozy drink. The menu of food is made with a lot of attention to detail and from what I know lots of their own locally grown produce is used. As a self proclaimed chai-snob I will also join the fanbase of people who can agree this is one of the best ones out there. There's a reason so many local cafes and Sacramento area coffee shops use North Fork Chai, it's that good. Although I come in every now and then, the girl on the register always makes an effort to remember my name and I think it's one of the kindest gestures out there in customer service. Keep up your great work :)
This place is tucked into a small shopping center right off the freeway going up towards Tahoe ! The staff were amazing and the chai was excellent!!!!!! I tried the dirty chai with coconut chai and it was absolutely a hit. I got their concentrate as well as a T-shirt too! read more

Best. Chai. In. Town. Hands down! I visit the Auburn area every once in a while from Sacramento. Every time I make this trek I absolutely stop at North Fork Chai each time. Prices are fair and match big coffee chains like Starbucks. I definitely prefer this place though! All of their drinks are fantastic, however, I typically opt for a Salted Caramel Latte or a Classic Chai. I love the vibe of this little shop. Unfortunately, due to COVID, you cannot go in. They do offer cute merch, which includes beanies, hoodies, t shirts, mugs and even chai concentrate they make in house to take home! Gage is an excellent barista here! Thanks North Fork Chai for an excellent hand crafted beverage each time I visit! read more

The two owners, josh the barista and Chelsea the chef are creating a little piece of heaven here in Newcastle. Chelsea who made a name for herself at a nearby business is venturing out on her own at north fork chai. She makes scones every morning and she's known as the best. With the change in seasons she goes to local farms and makes fresh turnovers and crostadas with the local produce. I've had my fair share of crostadas and turnovers and they are simply put, amazing. Also sometimes she makes her savory tarts with her homemade buttermilk ranch and they are heaven. On special occasions she makes cupcakes and they are so good. Also if you are a green tea aficionado, they offer ceremonial grade green tea and the iced matchas are amazing. If you want to add a secret, add a little of vanilla syrup, because it will become your new go to drink. Other than that they became local known for their chai, and you can never go wrong with an iced chai with almond milk. Pretty solid and a hidden Jem of Newcastle. Thank you Josand Chelsea!! read more

We stopped here on our way to Nevada City with no expectations and left wishing we lived closer so we could have the chai regularly! I got the gingerbread chai with oat milk and it was 9.8/10; my husband got the regular chai with whole milk and that one gets .2 more points because of how impossibly soft and cloud-like the foam was. We also got a lemon poppyseed scone that was very delicious. On our way back from our weekend stay we HAD to stop by North Fork Chai again. We will forever be dreaming about coming back! read more

Outstanding Dirty Chai! Ticks all the boxes for freshness, full body, flavor, & presentation. What a treat! What a surprise to find this gem tucked away in Newcastle. Beats any hot beverage that I've ever enjoyed during travel to New York City & throughout the world. Barista Josh is truly talented. read more

If you like coffee, give this new place a try in Newcastle, right off Highway 80. It's across from Denny's at 661 Newcastle Rd. and owned by a friendly brother/sister team. First, there's the coffee. If you want to compare coffee, order a straight espresso without all the syrups and sweeteners (Starbucks and Dutch Bros aren't that great, IMO), North Fork Chai rivals SF North Beach coffee places. I'll go out on a limb and suggest it's the best coffee between San Francisco and Truckee. Second, there's the pastries. Everything baked on-site. Sister is a pastry chef with a degree from the Napa Culinary Institute of America. Best. Scone. Ever. Third, if you like Chai, they bottle the concentrate and have been selling it successfully throughout Northern California. read more

The limited menu for beverages and eats at this quaint spot of I-80 in Newcastle allows the North Fork Chai Co to focus on their offerings! Hearty quiche & salad or perhaps a white bean and chicken chili = both are comforting and satisfying! Tasty scones and well-crafted lattes! Stop in and say hello to Josh!! read more

Recently drove to Newcastle from Land Park to purchase their chai concentrate. I had tried their chai tea at 18 Grams Coffee in Sacramento and fell in love. I have tried so many different chai drinks and this is the most amazing chai I have ever had!! Worth the drive....they are easy to access from the freeway and their is ample parking. They had some cute patio tables set up outside due to Covid. I was greeted and ordered through a little door window. I purchased the chia concentrate as well as a dirty chai to go! Quick friendly service. Will be ordering concentrate online. Due to Covid and their limited hours, I can not make it there after work. I will definitely be giving this local small business my bus read more

Great coffee, scones, customer service & ambiance! Owned by Newcastle natives Josh & his sister who is chef. I was in the mood to experiment with lavender syrup (which I'd never tried before this) and Josh recommended a late'. Was so tasty & even made the pour with a cool leaf on the froth Definitely good to the last drop! The blackberry scone was tasty & full of berries! The cafe has indoor seating but the outdoor-it is so casual and serene. I could see a book club, business meeting or just a girl's gab happening here. If I could, I'd be at North Fork every day read more
