Beer battered fish fry with German potato salad
    Greg R.

Usually love this place for solid food and service! Waitress forgot garnish on my drink that I specifically asked for! Ordered the cheddar bacon burger with a stuffed pepper, medium rare with sweet potato fries! Wife ordered the Turkey BLT. My burger was delish but not even close to medium rare! Love the sweet potato fries! Wife liked her BLT! Asked for water and wife asked for club soda. Brought the club soda, but no water! Overall, it's still a good place for dinner but lacking in some of the details! Love the amount of TVs with different games on!

Heard about this place and stopped out for a fish fry on a Thursday, first loved that option since my wife works in the service industry also and works most Fridays. 2nd we heard you could pick your sides which was great since she can't have gluten and it always seems to be a hassle at other restaurants. Well still seemed to be a hassle, waitress said she could tell her the sides but then charged us for the sides that were included with the fish fry, she never came back to check on us and it was not busy so we just paid the extra and left. Lesson learned always check your bill and maybe next time head to the bar to get it fixed instead of paying extra for items included in your meal.

Haven't been here in a while so I decided to visit 11/11/24 for a fish fry. Restaurant was pretty crowded but I sat at the bar. Heather served a good vodka and soda. I ordered a fish fry but then thought I wanted a seafood platter. I requested the platter and had a an old fashioned whilst waiting for my meal 45 minutes in not yet...but...very busy. OK about 50 minutes but, it looks good and flavorful There was a nice sized piece of haddock. Also about 8 shrimp, tuna Mac and potato salad also fries. A huge meal that was satisfying and as good as any I had in the past. I enjoyed my meal the service and conversation with a nice couple at the bar.

With is being Ash Wednesday, North End Grill was a good pick for fish fries in Kenmore. We started with spinach bread. It looked great, but the bread was not crispy enough. For dinner we got a shrimp scampi, broiled lemon wine fish, ahi tuna fish wrap, and captain's platter (beer battered fish and fried shrimp). Served with fresh cut fries, mac salad, cole slaw, and sweet potato fries. The beer battered haddock's exterior had a similar taste to fried dough. It was a pretty thick layer. I preferred the broiled fish. The scampi's noodles were cooked perfectly and served with 6 large shrimp. The fries were good, but could have been crisper. Ambience....you enter into a bar scene with a room to the side for seating. The tables are mostly meant for up to 4 people, so we crammed in with 5. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Place was festive and decorated with heart balloons for Valentine's Day. Menu is pretty large with pub food options: burgers, wraps, sandwiches, salads, wings, etc. Fountain soda with free refills. Parking lot behind. Wednesday is rib night...$2 off the rib dinner. We didn't have time for dessert so we brought a piece home....chocolate peanut butter pie!

We love north end! Prices are a little steep but portions are always huge and cooked well. My favorite here is the wedge salad and when they have the special banana pepper soup. Even the meatloaf is to die for. Servers are always friendly! Sometimes food takes a little bit but never anything horrible. A Routine customer!

Bar/pub spot in Kenmore that was conveniently located minutes from the spa I was going to for a service that afternoon . Walking in , I thought this might not work out .... It was very loud and crowded from another event going on . After a few minutes, I was greeted and told the event was winding down and they could still serve us lunch . So, my friend and I decided to give it a shot . They have your basic pub fare, I liked that they had broccoli cheddar as their soup of the day so I got the soup and Turkey sandwich lunch combo . My friend got a bbq chicken sandwich with fries. Food actually came out quickly and I really liked my selection. Soup was perfectly creamy and the sandwich was fresh tasting . My friend thought the chicken sandwich was a bit dry, but some ranch made it better and the fries that accompanied the sandwich were tasty . All in all , a decent experience for a quick bite to eat , although I would prefer to go on a less crowded day .

    BBQ burger ... so good

Poor fish fry. Ordered 2x coleslaw and got none. Ordered French fries and got about 15! For $27 it was not worth it.

Thanks to a Yelp Elite event on Hertel Ave., I FINALLY changed that with a fantastic late dinner at The Burning Buffalo Bar & Grill. One of the main reasons I don't like to go out in Buffalo is parking - I'm always anxious about finding a spot that's close to where I'm going, as well as not having to pay for it. It was 7:45pm on a Tuesday, so street parking was free so one obstacle down, and amazingly, I managed to park right in front of The Burning Buffalo Bar & Grill, but across the street - I'll take it! Upon walking inside, there were a few tables outside full of people having dinner and drinks with one waitress managing all of it. I walked in and was surprised how big, spacious it was. First order of business though was hitting the restroom, which was on the small side, but clean. After that, I grabbed a seat at the bar. The bartender was a young, pretty woman who was very personable. Unsure of what to grab for a drink, she asked what beers I usually go for and with that, she was fired off a few beers on draught I might like. I settled on the Jack's Abby Post Shift Pilsner and enjoyed sipping on that the rest of the night. She handed me the food menu and took care of a few other customers while I figured out what I wanted. I got it down to two items and I asked her for her recommendation, which was excellent and how I'd order, if and when I make it back. But similar to what other reviews on Yelp say, the atmosphere was very much like a neighborhood bar and grill, where everyone knows each other and if they don't know you, they're still more than willing to let you hop in and out of the conversation. I felt very comfortable sitting and listening to the "regulars" chat, watching a baseball game on the TVs behind the bar. So for dinner, I decided on ordering their Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich which is topped with lettuce, tomato, sriracha mayo, and cheddar cheese, with pickles underneath between a soft, brioche bun with a side of hand cut fries and a pickle spear on the side. The bartender recommended swapping out the cheddar cheese with pepperjack cheese, an awesome swap! The size of the fried chicken breast was HUGE by itself! I was so impressed how the well the sandwich held together as I devoured it. The chicken was hot, not greasy at all. The lettuce and tomato tasted fresh and looked crisp, there was plenty of that pepperjack cheese on top the chicken and pickles underneath. The sriracha mayo was excellent, albeit I would've liked more of it, I think more would've made the sandwich messy and hard to handle, so it really was the right amount on there. The hand cut fries were great as well; Crispier on the ends and softer in the center but plenty hot and not over seasoned. If you've seen other reviews of mine, you'll get the sense I have a pretty big appetite so I was able to demolish the sandwich but I couldn't finish all my fries, so that should be enough to tell you the portions here are HUGE and AWESOME! At first glance, the prices look expensive but I think they're justified as the quality and portions are phenomenal, I certainly felt I got my money's worth. I'm so happy that after several years of living in Buffalo, I made it over to Hertel Ave. finally! I'm also glad I chose The Burning Buffalo Bar and Grill for dinner. The quality and quantity of food, the friendly neighborhood atmosphere, the personable staff, what more can you ask for? I can't wait to come back and grab another Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich or maybe give their North Buffalo Cheesesteak a try!

I ordered the burning buffalo club which included smoked turkey, bacon, stuffed banana pepper spread, lettuce, tomato, and cajun remoulade on grilled sourdough. It was overall pretty tasty and the portions were huge.
