I've had an empanada from here twice now and they're delicious. I can't compare it to any others…read morebecause I've never had these Filipino kind of empanadas before, but I assume they're kind of the same? The ones from ilocos empanadas are deep fried. The inside is filled with cabbage, yellow peas, pork and an egg. With the vinegar sauce drizzled on top....man I found myself dreaming about one the other day. Now why 3 stars? This is the most inefficient food establishment I've ever been to. 1. They never answer their phones. I kinda get it. I mean if you're hard at work making the empanadas for customers in front of you, why would you take time to answer the phone for more orders you can't fill. I called once and they said they weren't taking orders for the next 3 hours because they were so backed up. 2. They don't open on time. I was there about 30 minutes after opening time one day and they were closed so I left. They also turn people away and I heard this one guy complaining that he came all the way from Hawai'i Kai. 3. Both times I came here, I waited over 45 mins. While I was watching them, it seems like they can only make about 12 empanadas an hour. That's less than $100 gross. 4. They only take cash and Venmo. I tried paying with a $50 one time because that's all the cash I had. They didn't have change. If you're only going to take cash, then don't you think you should be able to make change?? One of the other customers felt bad and made me change. So nice, but not their responsibility. These are all the rage now with Brerman Rock's TikTok's about this other lady in Waipahu who sells them. They are quite delicious, and I will come back for them because I love crunchy, savory, vinegary bites of handheld food lol. But mannnn I hope they can figure out a better system. Because the way it is now seems very unsustainable. The people here working (I've seen 3 people working the truck at any given time) are nice I guess. But for some reason it doesn't seem genuine. Idk how to explain it. They wait for the customer to approach them and usually just say something negative. It's like the customer has to convince them that they're good enough for an empanada. Idk. It's just a food truck. There are a bunch of shared picnic tables between 4 or 5 food trucks in a parking lot, so there is not really a nice ambiance. Take your empanadas to go!

I was disappointed. I got 8 Pork w veggies spring rolls for $15. I visited this truck at the start of the event which was a fundraiser for a High School. The oil they used was old or rancid. The spring rolls seemed like it was fried twice from before. It tasted horrible. I spoke to others at the event and they said they threw their food away because it tasted bad. I believe if they used fresh oil at the start of an event, it would have tasted much better. I do not plan to return here, it tasted really bad, rancid, old. I hate to make bad reviews for local business but they need to change their oil or check their food and taste it themselves before selling

So I did by texting the number, and communication was amazing. I pulled up to the meet-up location in Wahiawa at the designated time, and the order was packaged nicely. I'm sad to say that the spicy ahi bombs were too salty for my family's taste, and the pasteles were too bland. Spicy ahi was frozen, which I actually didn't mind because fresh ahi is really hard to come by these days. However, I don't think that the price was justifiable for the quality. Don't think I'll order from them again, but it was nice to try. 2.5/5.

We got there right before opening time of 4pm (when the crowd wasn't too bad) and got the last free parking space in the lot. Everyone else had to valet their car. My neighbor let me choose my dinner first while she secured a table for us on the Lanai. It was a shared covered area with a cool breeze flowing intermittently. I chose the taco plate at Jenny's Birria because it was Taco Tuesday! Service was efficient. The gal already had a taco plate assembled - with a half wedge of lime, a container of consommè, and 3 birria tacos. They were warm and crisp with cheese and meat inside the grilled tortillas. I would probably choose McDonald's (in the same lot) over this.

Chicken tenders small is 3 tenders with one side, regular is 4 tenders with 2 sides. If that's too much they have a keiki menu for $5 and comes with 1 slider or 2 chicken tenders. I have purchased different items on different occasions and on every occasion someone asks what we are eating and how it tastes. What is it? TATER STICK: Plain and simple it's a potato cut in to a spiral shape, pinned with a stick, and deep fried. Yeah, you are paying for the novelty of it all. You can choose different flavors. Check out my pictures for the different selections. I tried the tater stick a few times and each time it came out soft. My kids like it but I prefer it crunchy. I tried something like this a few years ago. We have tried the Cheezy Cheeder, which by the way tasted plain. The other flavor we tried is the salt and garlic pepper. My kids and I enjoyed it. This flavor added enough spruce to liven up the potato. TATER TRAY: Yummy! It's deep fried potato chips pimped out with different toppings to choose from. The tater tray chips are crunchy. The names speak for it self. 1. Chili Cheese Tater Tray 2. Hot Dog Tater Tray (I'm surprised this thing comes with 2 hot dogs on a stick!) Wowzeer :O 3. Bacon Ranch Tater Tray My favorite out of the three is the Bacon Ranch Tater Tray. Bacon just makes everything better! It comes with a decent amount of chips. The only down fall is that if you don't eat it quick enough the cheese and ranch make the chips soggy. So plan to inhale this beauty to enjoy it to it's full potential. Your gonna regret waiting to eat at home. PINEAPPLE LEMONADE: It's a good drink that goes along well with the tater stick or tater tray. It's pineapple juice, lemonade (it's powder), and sprite mixed together.
