We got there right before opening time of 4pm (when the crowd wasn't too bad) and got the last free parking space in the lot. Everyone else had to valet their car. My neighbor let me choose my dinner first while she secured a table for us on the Lanai. It was a shared covered area with a cool breeze flowing intermittently. I chose the taco plate at Jenny's Birria because it was Taco Tuesday! Service was efficient. The gal already had a taco plate assembled - with a half wedge of lime, a container of consommè, and 3 birria tacos. They were warm and crisp with cheese and meat inside the grilled tortillas. We went to the night market recently and boy was it a big disappointment when we got a plate of their birria tacos plate . I paid $15 bucks for 3 small ash tacos smh. They had a sign with pictures on it that looked like a full plate but the plate didn't even look like the picture. False advertising! Checked them out at What the truck in Waikele. Limited menu, birria taco plate was $15. Wait wasn't unusually long, but plates were getting piled up without anyone's name being called to retrieve. Birria taco plate came with 3 half sized tacos. They were filled with meat, cheese and onions. Plus 2 lime wedges and a container of birria consommé. The flavor was lacking, the meat was bland. We went to Bayview Night Market for dinner and came across Jenny's Birria. It looked really good. I ordered the Birria taco plate for $15. I was thankful the cashier informed me that my name was the same as a previous order they're working on, so to lessen confusion, she asked for an alternate name or nickname she can call for my order. I didn't realize there was a big group waiting for their food before me so I waited for about 15-20 minutes. It gave me the opportunity to watch the cook make their different dishes. My taco plate came with 3 Birria tacos, the sauce, and one piece of lime. The tacos itself were amazing. It was so crispy with crunchy burnt ends and it combined well with the sauce. The sauce itself was very different to other birria versions I've tasted. I was used to the ones that were filled and oily, but theirs were the opposite. It felt clean and it was very tasty. We came here for a Facebook "what the truck" event. Had to wait about 35-45 minutes in line. Then another 25 minutes to get the tacos. This birria was pretty disappointing. I got the meal for $20 that is 3 tacos, rice and beans. I asked if I can just get double rice no beans, the guy said no. In Cali I can get the same meal.. with flavor for half the price. I was so looking forward to trying their food. But ended up getting disappointed! We ordered at 5:23pm, and I have proof as we were taking pictures but we didn't get our birria quesadilla until 6:00pm. We were standing right next to their tent, a few inches from them. But we never heard them call for our order. I asked the guy in the white, and they said it's coming. So we decided to go order from another food truck and after a few minutes I went back to Jenny's Birria and they said they gave my food away!!! What the!! So this time I didn't leave. Finally got it and it didn't even taste 10/10. I was so annoyed and it's literally the tiniest thing ever! This was at the food truck event in Waikele. So this is just an update to my original post. The next day I received a message from Jenny with an apology and her wanting to make things right. Even though I told her it wasn't about getting a refund and that she didn't need to because I was fine w/ her just making the food, she insisted. Mistakes happen, things get overlooked but I appreciate her for doing this. Not only did she offer a refund but she offered to replace the food. Absolutely love love love Jennys tacos! I get her tacos at LEAST once a week. She's over in Kapolei on Mon , Wed , Fri by residence inn. After reading reviews a lot of people complained about long lines or bad service, I've never once received bad service & like I said I see her at least once a week ( at minimum... sometimes I see her 3 times a week just for her tacos lol ) Her tacos are made to order so complaining about a long wait is ridiculous, if you want fast food go get FAST FOOD. Personally, I've never had an issue with response from her or her crew. I can understand the frustration that people may get when she doesn't respond but do you respond consistently to hundreds of people messaging you everyday while maintaining a life outside of your work or business? They also had a super long line at full moon market at the hotel called residence inn. I waited for about 30 minutes in line but it was totally worth it. Food was really good and I really liked the crust that was on the tacos and pizza. It was a bit pricey though, see picture for prices. They were supposed to open at 5, but opened at 530 which was ok since I live nearby. The prices of them cooking the tacos and other dishes I had ordered took a while about 30-40 minutes and I was the first in line, but eh food turned out good and got a Thai coffee nearby while I waited. There are chairs and tables nearby where people who purchase food can sit down to eat if they like, the seating area is located on the Residence Inn property though, just fyi. We wanted to see what the HYPE was all about. Here we are disappointed.... talking about it on our way home. We got here right when they opened up, a few people in front of us.. we thought it'll be a quick run, but NO, we waited for an hour and some min. People who ordered after us got their food before ours, and we were watching the whole time, so we knew who called it in and who didn't. No apology, nothing. As for the consommé it tastes a little bland this time but the other sauce is pretty good. The burrito is really good and the size is pretty big. I responded to an Instagram post advertising pre-orders for their chicharrón and guacamole and asked if pre-orders were still open. They responded yes. I asked if it was ok to pickup after 330pm. She said yes, so I ordered 3 orders. She asked if I wanted to do Apple Pay and I agreed and never heard back from her. I followed up the following morning (day of pickup) asking how I Apple Pay her and where is the pickup. She responded asking what is the latest time I could pickup my order. I responded 530pm as the pickup is in ewa and I live in town. She didn't respond. She posted and shared to her story that she has a lot of people still wanting to order and she made a couple extra orders to sell but wants to make sure all her pre-orders are fulfilled first and pickup will be at 5:30-6 in ewa. I still didn't hear back from her. I messaged her again asking the address for pickup and explaining again that I live in town and if I am to make it during the pickup window of 5:30-6 I would need to leave town soon. She responded saying she's only doing pickups after 6:30. I told her that I thought it was 5:30, I checked her post and story again and confirmed it says pickup is 5:30-6pm. I took her no response as a clear response and going back to her Instagram, both the post and the story are gone. I have screenshots of them to make sure I didn't have the day and time for pickup mistaken. They also didn't delete their posts from Facebook. I truly love supporting local small businesses. Hopefully they can work on their customer service and professionalism as I see others have encountered their lack of both. I would have easily forgiven a new business owner having gotten in over her head in this process. I would have really appreciated transparency and the truth. Instead, you post the pickup times and when I respond saying the latest I could come is at the start of your posted pick up window, you lie and say pickup is after 6:30 and then go back and delete your posts and stories with the 5:30 time you posted. Ignoring customers is completely unprofessional, let alone taking their orders and not fulfilling them. You've lost business before we could even become customers as are not likely to return, or try as we haven't had a chance to yet read more

Some of the best Birrira tacos I've ever had- only downside, and I'm guessing by looking at their past reviews this is what they did to make their wait times shorter- is that they were a little cold because they were pre-making the food to make the line go faster. I'm allergic to beans and asked for just all rice. They said no. I had to pay the full price and they would just put rice on one side and leave the other empty. I would give them zero stars if I could. We went to their tent at the Boo Bash today. Ordered 3 tacos. Brother man on the grill took over 25 min to crank these out. Would be understandable if he was hustling in the back. He walked away from the empty grill, talked on his phone, moved slower than a slug. I could have gone back there and grilled them myself. There wasn't even a huge line or a lot of people waiting. And to top it all off, the tacos were mediocre, the salsa was a mini cup, half full, same with the consommé. What the heck. If I were the owner I'd get rid of those guys running the tent at events. They're ruining your reputation. And if there owner was there today....come on. I've been to Los Angeles tacos stands that hustle and serve tacos like they're proud of their work and actually want to take care of the people buying their food.
