Last August, when I was 8 months pregnant and had just moved back to O'ahu from the Big Island, I…read morewas scrolling Instagram and came across a local plate lunch truck called The Pupu Princess. I hit follow right away -- and when I saw they were nearby, I waddled my very pregnant self over to grab a plate. I ordered their Combo Plate: two scoops rice sprinkled with furikake, crab potato salad, fried noodles, and two proteins. I chose garlic fried chicken and teri beef. It was so good I actually cried a little. Living on the Big Island, everything was so far, and I couldn't satisfy my cravings easily -- so finally having a real plate lunch felt like comfort and home all at once. I hadn't been back since, mostly because they don't have a set schedule, and whenever they were close by, Bubba would be napping or I'd find out too late. But today, I finally got to go again -- and this time I brought Bubba. And she remembered me. "Weren't you pregnant last time?" she said. Such a small thing, but honestly an amazing memory and such a warm customer experience. Bubba and I had a little sidewalk picnic together. He tried fried noodles for the first time, loved the teri beef, and of course devoured the rice -- his forever favorite. I saved half the plate for my boyfriend since he's working. It felt like such a full-circle moment... sharing with my son the exact plate lunch that made me cry (in the best way) when I was pregnant with him.

Got there this time after 11:00 am. I think it was about 11:20. I was 3rd in line ordering. The rolls were tasty and the fried chicken was crispy skin and a lightly salted. Told the girl inside the truck we looked for you guys last week thursday and you guys wasn't there. She started to laugh explaining why they weren't there but I cut her off and said that day we came back 3 times couldn't find them we went home. LOL. Took a picture of their menu. If you in the area, stop by. Support them. They make everything fresh it's about a 20 min wait. P.S. They only open Tuesday through Friday 11-3pm.

We ordered the Kalbi plate, kimchi pancakes, and bibimbap. The cost can be a bit pricy, but the portions and taste really make up for it. The bibimbap had a variety of vegetables that made the dish look colorful. It came with bulgogi and an egg, and it was seasoned well. It also came with gochujang on the side, which I appreciated since my daughter can't eat spicy. My husband says the Kalbi plate was very good. It had a hint of sweetness and didn't feel dry. The kimchi pancakes had a nice crisp and and it was tasty. Next time, we will have to try the seafood pancake from there. The man who took our order was very nice, and service was fast, though we did go early. We had a nice lunch here, would recommend, and come back again.

I love how they make their pancake crispy and it was loaded with seafood in it. I would definitely come here again for their pancakes and maybe try other things from their menu!

There was one lady taking orders and another making all the drinks, so I can understand why things took some time. The coffee was overall good, and I love that they offer so many drink options along with a rotating specials menu. I'm already looking forward to trying some of their specials on my next visit! Now, the desserts were definitely the highlight for me. We got the brown butter chocolate chip croissant and the ube croissant, and both were AMAZING! They weren't overly sweet, which I really appreciated. Honestly, I would go back just for the croissants alone. We paid a little over $32 for two drinks and two sets of croissants, which felt a bit expensive. However, the quality of the desserts definitely left an impression on me. Would I go back? Absolutely! I'm excited to return, try more of their drinks, and see what new specials they have next time. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!

Mexican food on wheels! Although this place does catering, they also have a food truck!…read more Last night I noticed a truck up the street from where I live. I then noticed it was back again this morning! I looked up the name on Instagram and found out they were serving up Mexican food! My hubby loves Mexican so we had to try it out. First off, the customer service was amazing! They talked story with us, asked tons of questions about what we wanted in each order since everything is made to order. Here's what we got: 1. Beef Nachos: we ordered the small portion but this was HUGE! It has cheese, choice of beef or chicken, onions, cilantro, & sour cream. My hubby loves nacho cheese so he loved this! There was a generous portion of beef on top too. 2. Cheese Quesadilla: this was actually a kids quesadilla but it was definitely a regular sized one! It was simple with just cheese & tortilla but, they did not skimp on the cheese. It was THICK! 3. Chicken Burrito: this was definitely the star of the show! It was HUGE! Hubby and I shared it and couldn't finish it. It was stuffed with pico, flavorful chicken, cheese, sour cream, beans & rice. It was messy but sooo good! Highly recommend! Overall, it's dangerous how often and close they are to where we live! We'll definitely be back!

So I waited..... when I was called he showed me my order- carne Asada fries, and let me tell you... it can feed more than a family of 4. I never got his name but my bro, for serving great customer service along w great food.

I'd recommend bringing cash to avoid the 3% credit card fees. I'd also call my order in next time. It took about 10 minutes, which isn't bad, but if you're on a lunch break and in a rush, calling ahead would be best.
