Wandered all around San Fran to try and get some dinner without a reservation and this was the only place without more than a 30 minute wait. Super pleased with my experience here. The pasta I believe is from scratch and I absolutely loved the diy smores. Definitely a fun little treat with scratch marshmallows as well. It is a small area but they've utilized the space to accommodate as many people as they can. If you sit at the "bar" you can actually see them dress the pizzas with all the additional oils and or toppings. Lucky that I stumbled across here and was able to try some things from their menu.
This is a cute restaurant and the food was great. I came in a Saturday around noon and it wasn't busy too busy. We started off with the focaccia, which was good, but not worth the price. We then got the porky pepperoni pizza - sooo good and the sausage was really the highlight for me. The prices were reasonable and the service was great. Really no complaints and I'd definitely come back!
Ordered food from here from Monaghans which is a bar next door. I thought it was super convenient that you could order anything from the menu and they deliver to the bar. The service was pretty quick and they packed it to go in a bag for us. The wings were really yummy, but the amount was so little for $17+tax & tip. From the photos i uploaded, you can see how small and sad the box looks. The taste was really great but I'd skip this for something else on the menu. The chicken wasn't very meaty. The pizza on the other hand was a normal portion and tasted pretty great. More worth the price. Not too cheesy and the crust was very thin. The prosciutto we added onto the margarita pizza was very tasty and elevated the simple pizza.
Very romantic and cozy atmosphere, making it great for a date night or special night out. The food was greate and tasted very authentic. On top of the menu they had a fun drink menu including a sprtiz flight. The service was pretty decent, didn't get checked in on too much or too little.
Had a delicious celebration dinner here on a random Wednesday. Luckily didn't need reservations for a mid week dinner but the space is small so would probably need to during the weekend. They sat us on the high tops overlooking the windows which made it a pleasant people watching spot. Food was outstanding, fresh, and came out relatively quick. You can taste they use high quality ingredients. We tried both the Nor-sting -ya pizza and the Rigatoni a la Norcina. Both were awesome and highly recommend them. My favorite was the Nor Sting Ya Pizza. A nice blend of spicy and sweet and loved the texture of their pizza crust. Would definitely return!
Norcina is a fun, hole in the wall and neighborhood oriented place. They have a great atmosphere (eat inside if you want cozy and intimate and outside if you want a taste of the marina neighborhood, and pets from the Norcina mascot, Frank the Lab!) Their gluten free pizza has got to be some of the best I've ever had- it was so good, I had trouble believing it was gluten free. If you are gf you know how hard that can be to come by. I had a very unique pistachio pizza which was so unique but very tasty. Service was awesome too- the owner stopped by and was caring and attentive. I will definitely be back and would recommend to all!
Hidden Gem! Came here when the Joes line was too long. I had an amazing time. The waitstaff really took care of us and made sure we ordered the right things and had a great time. Not pictured, pizza we ordered. Pictured half eaten food because it was so good I forgot to take a photo. The kale pasta was INCREDIBLE. Beautiful flavors tangy sauce and GREAT portion. Value for money is extremely important to me.
Cute lunch or dinner spot in the Marina! We sampled the spritz flight, olive focaccia, and the burrata pasta. Service was quick. Only knock was the Hugo spritz recipe is more like a limoncello spritz which was unexpected. But overall, I recommend sitting at the window bar and the food and portions were great!

The mushroom pesto pizza was honestly some of the best I've had in SF. I always love cacio e pepe, and this place does it right! I didn't love the vibe inside, so I'd probably sit outside next time -- but we loved our waiter!
Came here on a very nice day and got seated at a table that wasn't leveled. It was kinda uncomfortable so just wanted to eat my pizza and leave. I got the norstringya without meat. The pizza was good and totally recommend it. Really wished there was more garlic on the pizza.

It wasn't heated, but we sat near the open window so some of the heat from inside came outside so it wasn't too cold. I loved the prosciutto pizza, which has figs, balsamic, lots of cheese, & prosciutto. It was the perfect sweet and savory combo. The corn caramelle was also good but very expensive for the portion -- also since it's a filled pasta, it was a little heavy after a few bites so it's a good dish to share! Service was great but not the fastest. Took a while to get the check/find someone to ask for a box.
Wanted to try this place for a while - we stopped by once after work on a Friday and it was packed, so we had to go to another spot. But we finally made a reservation during OSL weekend, so it wasn't busy at all (just a steady stream of diners). We sat at the window, which was nice because you can people watch. My partner and I shared dishes: meatballs, black pepper bucatini, and the corn caramelle. Hands down, the corn caramelle was the star of the show - it was so wonderfully rich and creamy. The corn inside was so sweet, and the bits of corn on the outside were charred and buttery as a great contrast. The other dishes were tasty too but the corn was truly the standout. I would recommend this place to friends! I would love to try other things on the menu but honestly, I would come back just for the corn caramelle. read more
I was pleasantly surprised with how much I thoroughly loved Norcina. 10/10 for outstanding Italian food! My friends and I snagged the window seating on a Friday evening, and the place was packed. Super cute and cozy atmosphere that I'd probably pass up if it hadn't been recommended, to be honest. We ordered to share: house foccacia, nor-sting-ya pizza, radiatore arrabiata, and their short rib dish. Every single dish was scrumptious and seemed masterfully crafted. If I only had to pick one, I would highlight their nor-sting-ya pizza which encompassed hot honey, tomato, spicy sopressata, roasted garlic, whipped ricotta, mozzarella, and fontina. That chicken liver toast is enough for me to keep coming back. I'm a sucker for pate and foie gras though... Relaxed ambiance, lively crowd and service, and decent prices. The pizza is delicious as well. Highly recommend the pistacchio pie with mortadella on top. I love mortadella and pistacchio is a highly underrated condiment on a pizza. The cocktails were alright...mediocre to be honest, but that's ok. The food more than made up for them. Would definitley come back again. read more

Excellent! Looked on yelp for a new place we had not been to in Cow Hollow area...made our way to this fantastic place! Incredible service and such a charming vibe! We were greeted warmly and immediately felt at home. Asked for a certain table and was accommodated. The absolute highlight? The sweet Labrador that belongs to the restaurant -- such a fun, friendly touch that added to the great vibe atmosphere. Sat outside on street patio which was great ~ Checked out the indoors which is decorated perfectly. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, gave great recommendations ~ and the food was just as impressive -- fresh, flavorful, and arrived timely and hot! You can tell they take pride in both their menu and their hospitality. Can't wait to go back...to see the dog! Just kidding! Wine and beer only. read more

The cacio e Pepe was the best I've ever had and i have dabbled quite a bit! Really good. My sister got a pizza from the wood fired oven we were sitting and watching them make - awesome. And the smores for desert over a flame were fantastic. Home made marshmallows and cookies rather than a traditional graham cracker . Really we had such a lovely experience! read more
I love this neighborhood gem for casual Italian pastas, pizza & cocktails. My friend was visiting from NYC & said that he was in the mood for pasta & I thought of Norcina for their variety of menu items. I called ahead to make reservations which was easy. They have bar seating, window seating & some dining tables & outdoor parklet & I like to sit at the bar, chat with the bartender, watch him make cocktails & watch the guys assemble the pizzas. We had the duck liver toast & I can't believe that I've never tried it before. Fluffy duck liver is piped onto toasted bread & topped with carmelized onions in a balsamic vinegar reduction. Yum (if you like liver or pate). We also had the burrata, which is served over some cooked vegetables (zucchini), a bit different from the usual arugula or tomato slices but still yummy. My friend ordered the spaghetti with clams and I had the Dungeness Crab Tagliolini. The pastas were the perfect portion, not too heavy & were delicious. For dessert, we shared the tiramisu (my favorite) & Earl Grey Boudino. The tiramisu is perfection, light, fluffy & delicate. The Earl Grey Boudino reminded me of a panna cotta, very mild in taste, smooth texture, not too sweet & pretty good. For drinks I had the flight of spritzers & friend had beers. Was out in SF looking for new foods to try. I would definitely go back if I return back to area. The Funky Fughi pizza was good, even better complimented by their ranch. We took the in-laws here for a little Thanksgiving eve dinner. It was perfect for the task at hand! This restaurant is small and cute. The mom/pop, neighborhood charm is strong here. The menu offered enough for all, even the slightly picky eaters. We sat at a tall table for 4 and the front door remained open the entire time we were there. It was a chilly evening, so it would've been a little bit more comfortable if the door was closed. Nonetheless, we enjoyed the ambiance. Our food came out quickly and plated very lovely. The portion sizes are generous and I think we all brought leftovers home. This restaurant would be perfect for a date or a small group dinner. It will remain on my list of cozy Italian restaurants, no doubt! read more
Had a lovely time at this gorgeous spot in the marina! Went on a Sunday at noon which was very chill, service was great, and the restaurant dog, Frank, came by plenty of times to make sure we were enjoying our meal! Starting with the flight (refer to photo), I don't remember each drink name but the one on the far left was pretty bitter and not my favorite, the middle was pretty standard, and the end was really good, great sweetness level! Going into the food, the burrata was solid, a little bland for me, but the addition of eggplant was definitely a great choice. The pizza was absolutely delicious, I love that I'm seeing hot honey on more menus; it really elevated the dish. In general, this place is quaint and beautifulll, loved the vibes and can't wait to come back! Definitely try the nor-sting-ya pizza when you come :) read more

Tucked away in a little hole in the wall, this place is incredible. Beautiful atmosphere on NYE even though it was pouring, everyone was still having a great time. The food came in a timely manner especially for being packed. Service was amazing, he had us cracking up. I'd highly recommended the Nor-Sting-Ya pizza because the hot honey and whipped ricotta is to die for. I'm still dreaming about it. read more

We ate at Norcina a few weeks ago and are still thinking about the Italian Sausage pasta we had. It was beyond!!!! The pizza was also delicious (we got the funghi) but definitely go for the pasta. We each ordered a drink but were not blown away by them. We definitely would come back for the food but maybe not the drinks... We sat outside on a Friday and waited about 45 minutes to be seated but grabbed a drink at a nearby bar while we waited and got seated early. They even provided blankets for the chilly nice which we appreciated! read more

I took the kids to the Balloon Museum last Friday and looked for a place to eat lunch nearby. One kid wanted pasta and one kid wanted pizza, so I found Norcina on Yelp, which serves both pizza and pasta. There was only one couple sitting outside so we were able to sit inside right away. The restaurant itself was small but right away, you could see the hot brick oven that they use to make their pizzas. We shared two pizzas and a pasta, which were all freshly made. The restaurant has an open kitchen so we were actually able to see our pizzas being made. We tried the following: - Funky funghi pizza - arugula pesto pizza with porcini mushrooms and two Italian cheeses. Pizza dough was thin and had a nice chew. - Prosciutto pizza - white pizza with figs and prosciutto topped with fresh arugula. This pizza was sweet from the figs and savory from the prosciutto. My 9 year old didn't care for the figs (more for me!), but didn't mind the arugula surprisingly. - Black pepper bucatini - cacio e pepe pasta that was creamy yet had a kick from the black pepper. Pasta was perfectly cooked al dente! I must say, I was very impressed with Norcina. Everything was fresh and delicious! Even the kids enjoyed the meal! The service was excellent as well! I asked our server whether he recommended the lambrusco or the orange wine from Sicily, and he recommended the orange wine. It complemented the meal well! The server saw my daughter staring at the pizza oven, so he told her that the oven gets up to 800 degrees. He said they use a high hydration dough, which is why the pizza takes no more than five minutes to cook. Because we ordered two white pizzas, I asked for a side of tomato sauce to dip the crust into. Not only did they warm it up for me, but I wasn't even charged for it. If I'm ever in the city, I would definitely go back to Norcina! read more

My friend and I came here at around 7pm on a Tuesday night, since we walked in without a reservation there were only certain seats available such as green table outside (not close to a heater) and bar seating inside. We decided to sit outside since it was a nice day. We ordered the meatballs as an appetizer and the meatballs itself were huge and delicious! It's great with the sauce but by itself I felt like it tasted slightly dry and the focaccia bread was sadly a little hard and not fluffy. We got 3 pastas to share: - tagliatelle bolognese - rigatoni alla norcina - corn carmelle The tagliatelle was pretty classic and standard but it was very tasty. The corn camelle was very interesting. I've never had pasta like this, the filling was very cheesy corn and I thought it was very creamy and tasty. The pasta pillow on the outside was a little hard, I wish it was cooked just slightly more. And my favorite of the night was the rigatoni!! This pasta deserves a 10/10. It was creamy, it was cheesy, the Italian sausage was homemade I'm pretty sure because some of the pieces were very large chunks and the pasta was al dente. We also got the classic spritz flight to share and my favorite was the grapefruit one. read more

Hi, how can I book a reservation for an outdoor table? Resy only specifies "window bar" or "dining". There's no note section to request an outdoor table. I emailed the business last week and have received no response. Thanks in advance!
They now have an option for outside table booking on Resy! They typically have outside, inside, and street-facing window seating available depending on party size.
