Took my bike in for some regular maintenance as well as a dyno tune. Regular work (new chain, etc) was fine, but the dyno tune was disappointing. I couldn't get a straight answer regarding what they actually adjusted. Did they change the jetting? Adjust the mixture screws? Change the ignition timing? The rpm sensor on their machine wasn't working well so the dyno print outs I got were just scribbles. I couldn't trust the torque/hp numbers. Maybe the air/fuel measurements were OK. I didn't actually care if they even adjusted anything, I just wanted to know that the bike was running as well as could be. Once I got the bike back, just about any changes I made seemed to make the bike run better. That included mixture screw adjustments and ignition advance settings. I took out the carbs and saw they hadn't messed with the jetting after all. I finally took the bike to another shop and ran individual dyno runs for each parameter change (whereas Norcal just gave me beginning and end runs). Sure enough, the ideal dyno-verified settings were substantially off from where Norcal had put them. Bike is running much better now. Anyway, my experience was OK for regular maintenance but I can't recommend these guys for tuning/dyno work. read more

I absolutely despise selling vehicles online, from low ball offers to non responsiveness from interested parties, it's usually an unpleasant experience. It was time to sell my motorcycle and move on to another one so I posted it on Facebook marketplace. Warren from NorCal Cycles responded to my ad and offered me a fair price. The fair price was regardless if I was going to only sell to them or trade in for one of their bikes. Within a few messages back and forth and a phone call from manager Freddie, we had arranged for the sale and pickup of my motorcycle the following morning. Keep in mind, NorCal Cycles is 100+ miles away from where I live and they offered to pick it at no charge and complete the sale at my house. Also, I had a loan remaining on my motorcycle but NorCal Cycles worked directly with my bank to settle the sale. The following morning, Ben had come to pickup my motorcycle and complete paperwork. This was the easiest and most professional vehicle sale I've experienced. I highly recommend NorCal Cycles, they're a really great and trustworthy group of guys to work with. Wow! Is all I can say. Called a couple of days ago for a dyno tune and radiator flush, got quote pretty high(from other shops). Called Rob about price he makes reasonable offers and DOES NOT try to milk you for your money. He will call you to ask you IF you want them to operate on other things you did not ask for before they start. Some shops wont tell you and just do it and charge you.Anyways, Dyno was PERFECT! I highly recommend this place. I will definitely be back for sure. Warren is an Awesome job at the tune. If anything these guys are the place to go to! read more

Had to bring the bike back for an oil leak as there are no other shops near by. To my surprise, this time around my experience was the exact opposite... Proper service, price for repairs and timely completion. I really wish I could give them no star at all. Not only Sir Robert promises you mountains to lure you in and not deliver, but this guys is charging $450 to clean and rebuilt a carburetor on a 750 Honda. It takes 30 minutes to remove and reassemble a carb. He also said that diagnostic charge of $100 will be applied towards the cost the repair, but he is charging separately for it anyways. Fine, lets do it. Bike in on Saturday, told him its urgent and keep me posted. Called two hours later @2pm, we found your problem, needs a simple needle set. Great, but $450 for that? Whatever, please let me know if I can pick it up same afternoon; "you got it" was his respond. No word until Monday. Keep calling and only voice mail. Drove to the shop around 3, message reads, "sorry, but we are closed today" Come Tuesday still no word, keep calling and only voicemail. Drove there around 3, no sign of Robert or technician. Helper dude tells me they found some additional issue, but main problem was fixed, bike just running a little too rich. I had it at this point and want to pick up the bike. Bring it outside the shop and it's not even fully assembled. Tried starting the bike and the problem is not fixed, still same problem when it was brought in. Overly frustrated at this point and needless to say I instructed the helper to pass the word on, that I need to hear from Robert next day when they open to let me know what the heck is going on. I've been to a lot of dealerships before and everyone just tried to sell me or didn't even help... but when I came here for the first time I talked to Freddie. He was really welcoming and told me if I saw anything I liked, to come and grab him. Heres a good way to know if youre "wrench" is any good: When they ride up on a bike that's way nicer than yours! Ive had my bike (ninja250) in here 4x+ for sprocket/tires etc. and its dialed in better than factory now. Its right where I want it and I owe it to Norcal Cycles. Ive had a bad experience with a dealership "repair" where my scooter broke down and I had tp push it a mile back to get them to do what I asked them to do in the 1st place. Not "please change the clogged fuel filter" and they ignore you and change the oil!. 10,000 miles and counting...Thanks Guys. read more

Good business, good owners. I got a scooter from them and it has been outstanding. The one minor problem I had a loose fuel line was resolved in 5 min without charge. The scooter takes maybe 7$ gas a week, and insurance is 16$ a month and that is on the high side due to my driving record. Get your class M1 permit immediately, but that is just a written test at DMV, not real hard. All in all, I would rate there service on scooters as excellent. read more

This review is mostly for Freddie, but the entire team at Norcal Cycles was great. I called in after my Twin Brothers exhaust fell off my bike, (the carbon fiber was getting old and the rivets holding the slip on sheared off) and spoke to Alfred(o?) on the phone. He was friendly and asked me to bring in the Twin Brothers so they could see how to help. I ended up needing to replace the slip, so he sent me over to Freddie for parts. I spent some time with Freddie going over my options; they had an aftermarket Jardine slip or a stock option for me (in my price range). I decided to go with the Jardine, but we weren't sure if the fit was perfect, so Freddie, being an upstanding dude, said it's against store policy to return any used parts, but that because he wasn't 100% sure the slip would work for me, said he'd honor a return. Normally this is a red flag for me, saying final pricing on parts, but I believed he would keep his word so I went home, tried to put it on, but no luck. Called Freddie and he said he'd take it back, but wanted to see if we could try and make it work. He looked it over and it wasn't going to fit so I decided the stock option would be best (although a little quiet for my taste after the twin brothers) and Freddie helped me work it all out. I ended up borrowing tools from the shop and did the install myself, and Freddie was there to help me through it all. He charged me ZERO $$ for labor, which was extremely generous since he helped me out a good amount. He gladly refunded me the difference from the Jardine to stock exhaust, and I was happily back on the road again with my moto. These guys really know the true meaning of customer service. Just started going to these guys when I got my new (to me) GSXR. Warren and Rob know their stuff! Warren did a track prep for me, dialed my bike in! They have a dyno - so he threw my bike on that and let me take it for a spin. Sweet! I did a price check on all the gear they put on my bike and they were right there with all the on-line prices - so no need to shop around! They can get just about everything you need. Love these guys! I have an older bike that hadn't run in years. They fixed her up (twice), and now she's running great! I got stuck today, and thinking it was the same problem as usual, called the shop. Will came out, took a look, and determined that the problem now was that I was out of gas! He took me to get a gas can, put the gas in my bike for me and made sure it was ok and that it ran before leaving. Now THAT is good customer service!!! Great people, great shop. You don't get the feeling of "ok, your bike's fixed, now onto the next customer". It's more they want to make sure you're happy w/ith them and with the shop, and to build a relationship. I feel like they're "there for me". *:) They will always get my business, whether it's with this bike or another one down the road. read more

My only gripe with this shop is they didn't seem to test ride my bike before handing it back to me. Had a full carb job done at their recommendation. After I picked it up the idle still fluctuated so I took it back, and at no charge they adjusted it. Still had problems with it, but with some online forum help, I was able to deduce that they re-wired my throttle cables wrong. For all the money I spent I wish they hadn't made a careless mistake like that. I give them 4 stars only because they were willing to take it back no charge, but really should be giving them 3 since they didn't even find the problem. read more
