Had a quickshifter installed on my 2024 Tuareg 660 yesterday. Rode in and waited at the shop for it to be done. Nick was great at reception and the whole process was easy. Nice coffee shop right next door and Scuderia was comfortable with a couch and lots of two-wheeled eye candy. Nick kept me updated on the progress and spent some time with me afterwards explaining the new feature: What to expect, operation, how to identify a problem if it were to occur, etc. Could not be happier. One employee(taller and glasses) is somewhat rude. Treats you like you are one of the tent folks in the back alley. Which everyone should be treated equally, by the way. Parking is horrendous in that area. Careful leaving valuables and keep an eye out for human landmines(brown ones). Might go back to buy a bike, but order parts from an online spot. My long dream of owning a Vespa came to fruition at Scuderia. i had hopped to a few other Vespa dealers (all of which seem to specialize in motorcycles including here). Without a doubt Scuderia had the best selection of Vespas: electrics, 50, 150, or 300cc. It's pretty chill and low pressure which is nice. They can get you some parts to trick it out too (I needed a top box and the perimeter bars) because it needs to be tricked out a bit. Buying it was an interesting 'tour of the shop' where you talk to someone in sales (Caleb was great and patiently answered my questions and chatted with me each time i came back to look at the ride I was interested in), then parts (where Kennedy knows all), then finance/purchase (which Don walks you through), then service. It's really more of a 'get to know the dealer' kinda thing that I really appreciated. When I picked up my ride, Caleb gave me a walk through and some 'new ride/new rider' tips which were very helpful. Plus they just moved into a new space which is awesome and out by dog patch (they are doing demo days at the new location so you can try out rides). Oh and just remember, they have motorcycles here too (KTMs, Aprilias, Kymcos, Royals, etc.), so it's not just for Vespas. read more

Hello all, I called Scuderia for the service dept. and the young man who answered the phone sounded nice enough. Question how do I turn out the service light on my 2022 ktm 1290r adventure? He responded with you need to bring it in and it would take a 1/2 hour to hook it up to a laptop to clear out the service light cost would be $85.00 bucks, thought to myself can't I press some magic buttons "nope" he responded not on the new bikes. DO NOT COME HERE. This is the most unethical, downright cruel retail store I have ever come across. They are currently trying to entirely take away the value of my gift card to this store with the value of $7,500.00. I have spent nothing on this card, which was my Christmas gift to me by my partner to buy a new Vespa. They have tried to prevent me from using that value from day 1. They first tried to say that they needed to hear from the purchaser for me to get any value, even half, and then they spoke to the buyer and confirmed, and now have wiped out any value on the card. They insulted me to my face, even trying to claim personal things my partner never said. I am now forced to report this business to the BBB and file a lawsuit. I have had to file a police report as well. I have spoken to other store employees and owners who have confirmed my experience, that this shop is unethical. I'm horrified by the experience. I bought a scooter from them and it wasn't until after the paperwork was signed and I was about to hop on the thing and leave did he tell me 1) they can't service this brand of scooter for me. The closest dealership was in Oakland. How the hell am I supposed to travel to Oakland with my scooter if it needs repairs without paying a ton of cash. 2) Waited until I was about to leave to reveal that the storage area on the seat was missing a lock. THIS review is about an employee who on a different occasion and most recently, also treated me badly, refusing to stand behind the quality of the extensive repairs Scuderia had performed on my bike only weeks before. Two days ago it broke down on a road in Oakland Ca and remains there today because CALEB, an employee of the company refused to address a serious and time sensitive business concern regarding those repairs that have left me and my bike stranded on the side of the road. Two days ago, when I phoned the business SCUDERIA to alert them of a potentially faulty repair, i was flat out refused by CALEB, who in his own words after I asked him why he was refusing service to me, he admitted, he was not helping due to his personal feelings he has about an email he read between myself and a manager, DON, which had nothing to do with CALEB , that it was not cool what I said in those exchanges, hurting his feelings and for that reason has refused to meet the companies business obligations to their customers, to stand by their repair work , and products they use. At the very least in this situation a simple attempt to have the bike they resold me after repairs should be picked up and delivered to their shop for diagnosing. But I was hung up on because CALEB couldn't separate his personal feelings from business. Someone will be held responsible for his egregious mishandling of this matter! Review- I am writing to address a concerning experience I recently encountered with your establishment. As a long-standing customer who has always valued the services provided by SCUDERIA SAN FRANCISCO, it is with regret that I bring yet another outrageous mishandling of customer care to your attention. In an incident that has left me deeply dissatisfied, distressed and property you repaired and resold to me after an already outrageous move to reclaim a bike I had purchased from your shop once before, that bike is now let on a side road broke down where it happened because of Caleb's personal feelings. Regrettably, despite my explanation of the situation, I was met with a refusal to provide assistance. Caleb cited personal sentiments stemming from a prior communication exchange he had read that had nothing to do with him and was frankly not any of his business. I found the people at Suceria to be friendly and helpful. However these do not seem to be people who are passionate, or even know much about motorcycles. They know only as much as they need to know to do their jobs, and little if anything more than that. In addition, each person that I talked to was trying to sell me up - sell me more than I asked for, more than I wanted - things that would increase their bottom line. I did buy a bike from them, because they were the only dealer of that make relatively near me. But they added a bunch of seemingly phony charges, adding almost $2,000 to the MSRP. read more

I had some very bad experiences with Scuderia when I needed my 2 Aprilias serviced a few years ago. Pre-sale diagnostic check for a bike I wanted to buy privately. They missed a huge flaw with the bike that I ended up having to pay for down the road. How convenient. Misdiagnosing things over and over again. Selling me parts that I didn't need. Trying to charge me for warranty work on a new bike. Forcing me to call Piaggio North America to make them finish my warranty work without charging me. Telling me to come in for a service bulletin. Then telling me to go back home because they didn't have the parts. Calling me a week later and asking for the mileage of the bike to start the claim even though they literally had my bike for 30 minutes when they first told me to come in. Round and round we go. The issue here is that Scuderia is the ONLY Aprilia dealership in SF so you have to go to them for some work. Just get your Aprilia towed to another dealership for servicing. It's not worth the hassle. Edit for Alex: The issue was a danger to me and came up almost immediately after purchase. Your techs missed it and misdiagnosed it 3 subsequent times. The only stretch here is that Scuderia has integrity and accountability. The flippant responses by Alex only further proves this. Incredible service department, managed by Kevin M.. It is very evident that they have a culture of excellence, and won't let anything go out the door that they are not proud of. I brought in a pretty beat up Honda CBR 600RR along with some aftermarket fairings purchased online. Jordan, with a strong background in Honda, did an absolutely incredible job on the bike. I didn't even recognize it when I picked up just days after dropping it off. They took the time and care to custom fit the fairings to my bike, going above & beyond. To say their work exceeded my expectations would be an understatement. Kevin, their Service Manager, was very communicative and delivered on everything as promised, at a very reasonable price. I wouldn't take my bike anywhere else. The entire staff is friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Five stars. read more

Bought a Kymco here 10 years ago. Great bike. Adore it. I've always had it serviced with the guys at Scuderia. Their labor prices had started to get outrageous, but a couple of the service guys were amazing and knew my bike well. (Spoiler alert: they've all quit fairly recently.) Fast forward to now: I'm selling my scooter because I'm 9 months pregnant. The gentleman interested in buying it wanted to take it to get inspected, which is totally cool, and I naively suggested he take it to Scuderia because *it's always gone there.* He took it there and was charged an exorbitant amount for a routine inspection. AFTER the inspection was paid for they tell him they don't service Kymco bikes anymore. They also try to convince him to not buy my bike and get a new Vespa from them. So now we're back at square one, having to take it to another shop and pay again to have it diagnosed by someone who will actually work on it. Scuderia is being shady and underhanded and it's no wonder they lost their best staff members. Avoid them at all costs! read more

I've bought and sold 5 motorcycles over the past 9 years (8 vehicles total if you include cars) and I've worked with several dealerships (specifically Ducati dealers since I've been heavily involved in the creation of a Ducati Owner's Club and running it). I know plenty of the dealer owners around the bay area and I have to say that I have mixed feelings about my sales experience here. At first, I was told about 2017 and 2018 RSV4 inventory, so I jammed over to SF from the east bay. When I got there, the sales team was very patient even though they were very busy. However, I found out there were only 2018s left in inventory. Even though I told them I wasn't interested in the LE, they still kept trying to steer me in that direction and even questioned how serious I was about buying an RSV4. I still found better pricing around other parts of the country, however, they weren't willing to get much closer (we're talking about a $2k difference) or negotiate prepaid service or an extended warranty. They kept pushing for a price to work with and I kept saying that I wanted them to come back with their best number. I could have purchased a bike from Ohio or Arizona, flown there to get it or have it shipped back, and still have come out ahead (after you throw in tax, registration, etc). I will say that they matched an out-the-door price I heard of a year ago on new old stock 2017s, but since they didn't have one in inventory, the 2018s weren't going to get dropped, even though nothing changed on the RSV4 from '17 to '18. In the end, I left without a bike and found a friend offloading his 2017 Aprilia for a killer deal so I guess it worked out for both parties. read more

"Treating customers with the respect they deserve and delivering the highest degree of service possible." Yeah, Scuderia had this up until Covid. Now not so much. I've had an Aprilia that I've used Scuderia for servicing exclusively since 2014. Used to be they were just like any other normal business - you call them up, schedule an appointment, and get your bike in for service. Now the process is this: 1) Call them up. Get a message telling you to book online. 2) Fill out their Google form online. 3) Wait a couple weeks. 4) Get a text from Alex asking if anyone reached out to you yet. Reply same day. No response. 5) Follow up with an inquiry 3 days later. No response. 6) Follow up with another inquiry 4 days later. No response. 7) Follow up with a final text and another call to the shop 2 days later. Finally get a call back after leaving a VM at the shop asking for anybody to call me back. 8) Get an appointment, but want to know if I'm going to need to leave overnight or can take same day, so I can plan to wait around. Good luck getting anyone to respond to you on that. In the end, I couldn't make my appointment due to an emergency with my kid. I tried calling the shop to let them know. VM full. Texted, no response. I literally drove across town to walk in and try to reschedule. I was treated like an inconvenience to them. I'm going to start looking at selling my bike and switching to a Ducati where I can get someone on the phone over at Munroe. I don't suggest investing in a KTM or Aprilia if you live in SF and want dealer service, at least not until Scuderia gets their act together. Being able to answer a phone is customer service 101. DO NOT SERVICE your motorcycle or scooter here! I repeat, DO NOT bring your motorcycle or scooter here for ANY type of service, repair, etc. DO NOT EVEN bother purchasing any accessories. EVERYTHING IS OVERPRICED! I bought my Vespa scooter brand new here and purchased it at a slightly higher price than other Vespa dealers. I thought I was able to justify it because of the expensive location of being in San Francisco, etc. Whatever, that's fine. The MOST important takeaway from this review, is that the service department here is absolutely horrendous. First of all, their labor rate is $185/hour. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? How can that labor rate be more expensive than the Mercedes dealership I bring my car to? I asked them why their labor rate is so high, and they said it's because they send their mechanics to training on Vespas and keep up to date on them. I told them that's ridiculous and that other Vespa mechanics at other dealerships also attend trainings to service the scooters. I know being in San Francisco, the rent for a commercial location may be slightly higher than others, but really? $185/hr? I asked them how much they charge for the first full service. They quoted me $800+ tax. That's more than 10% of the price of the Vespa GTS300 scooter that I purchased. If you shop around, other Vespa dealers will actually charge half that. For the first minor service which is an oil change and filter change, they charged me $335. This is absolutely highway robbery. Granted, I am fortunate enough to have the disposable income to pay for a luxury like a scooter and the maintenance, but I don't believe in taking advantage of innocent customers, just because they think they can price gouge unsuspecting motorcycle/scooter owners because it's San Francisco and because the mechanics receive "training". I asked them how much it costs to replace a flat tire. They quoted me $75 for a replacement scooter tire (online it's about $40), and they quoted me 1 hour labor which is $185. So that brings the grand total of $260+ tax to replace the rear tire on my Vespa. I called another Vespa dealership down the peninsula, and they quoted me $100. $50 for the tire, and $50 for the labor. Now THAT is reasonable. I really don't get it. Maybe the business model is to utilize the scooters and motorcycles as a loss leader to get the customer in the door (which I don't think is true because I'm sure they make a good healthy profit on scooter sales), but I don't believe that servicing and maintenance should be such a money grab to the point where it's at the extreme end of being so disproportionate. I work hard to pay for my toys and to maintain the enjoyment of them. But at the same time, I believe in reasonable fees for services. I don't like it when people are taken advantage of, I don't believe in price gouging people just because you can get away it, and although I believe in supporting local businesses, this Scuderia West dealership is one that I will NEVER support again. Caveat emptor. Please shop around and support other Vespa dealers that are more fair and reasonable. read more

A few months ago I purchased a new Vespa Elettrica electric scooter from Scuderia for my commute in San Francisco. The sales process was fine, but the bike they sold me was not built for San Francisco. For a city known for it's hills and Lombard St's curves, this electric bike is downright unsafe. It does not have enough power to make it up the hill without dropping to 5mph, it almost feels like it will fall backwards. I attempted to re-sell the bike to them, but they have an "inventory issue" with this Vespa Electric Scooter now, and would not repurchase it for any price. Disappointing to be sold something crappy for the market that they don't even want back. +1 star because the staff is professional and nice. read more

What can I say other than I love these guys! Apparently my recent purchase (KTM 890 Adv R) was their first sell for 2021 on their first open day in the New Year and this was only possible because Alex was able to secure me one of a handful 890R's they were going to get. From the first call to leave a deposit last year to signing on the 2nd, Alex was very responsive and on top of tracking the whole process. The delivery of the bike was spot on as I worked with them to get all of the mods e.g. Ti pipe, crash bars, panniers, etc installed before they ultimately delivered to my house! Talk about customer service. And if Alex wasn't enough, dealing with Kennedy and Julia for parts, service, and accessories completed the entire experience. Amazing team over there! In SF, this is the Louis Vuitton store for scooters. Across the street is a skatepark under a freeway with really fresh graffiti. Very juxtaposed, I understand. My Kymco 50cc broke down finally after many years of Giants games, the battery never worked, had to kickstart that beast every time. Cold weather? Kymco only likes humidity so I would break in my thigh kicking that thing 100 times when foggy. I even broke the kickstart and got a new one put on at Scuderia! Different story. SO! I magically found some money and called Scuderia for a possible new rocket, which would be reliable and start all the time and I could maybe drive around a hot babe from time to time (have 2 helmets). Alex W. received my query. He pretty much instantly had a great scooter for me (I explained I am a simple hyphy dude using a scoot for city thangs). It is a 2009 Aprilia 50cc Scarabeo, 800 miles. Alex let me in to the store, was very nice, professional, and above all competent in a way I would hope for with a scooter/money transaction. I felt like I was being dealt with very honestly, I'm not a dickweed with hella $$ trying to buy a Ruckus. So after walking through all the beautiful Vespas and KTM's my little "Scabby" was there in the back! Alex charged the battery up, made sure the tires were full and gave me all the info on this 2 stroke model. I already knew most of the info but it was refreshing to hear again! Like getting re-certified as a SCUBA diver. Overall transaction was very pleasurable, this morning I rode the scooter to Safeway but it was only open for Seniors and I was turned away. After putting down a deposit on the Aprilia v4 factory 1100 the bike came it Aug 1st they were cool and let me shop rates and I even took a few other bikes out for some test rides. Nothing was as interesting as the Tuono for me so .. I took the v4 home aug 12. The ride home from the dealer I knew I made the right choice. This bike is amazing !!! Day 2 was the cannons and some highway riding and the bike preformed flawlessly. The one star is for the way I was treated by the dealer after I purchased the motorcycle. Don't bother with that " preferred service " BS they offer you will be still have you wait 14 days to get an service appointment. read more
