Had my bike in there twice for work, they're currently working on my bike and are incredibly helpful. They work on all kinds of vintage bikes, when other places have told me there's nothing they can do Bello Moto laughs and gets it done in an hour! Not to mention the collection of scooters and motorcycles they have for sale. Definitely a go to place if you need a great vintage scooter or need one repaired, never dissatisfied with my experience

Love this place. They have a lot of vintage Vespas and some cool vintage micro cars on sale. Giovanni was very patient and answered all my questions. These guys know their stuff. They can even special import any car you like from Italy and ship it straight to their shop. Very honest folks. They even have all sorts of Italian and European vintage props for your garage.

Our company recently moved into the original Bank of Italy building across from Transamerica. So naturally, we were looking for a uniquely Italian showpiece that not only emphasized the beauty and architecture of the building but something that San Franciscans could relate to while piling on the romance of our city. (Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday anyone?) I decided a vintage Vespa was the only way to go. When Gianluca introduced me to his company and showed me the collection, I knew I was dealing with an expert. Bello Moto's collection is unrivaled in the quality, rarity and selection of scooters. He doesn't deal in just Vespas, there is quite a varied collection of other Italian makes, and most are ones I've never heard of which makes the experience all that more valuable. I chose a gorgeous 1970 azzuro chiaro metallizzato Sprint for display in our store and just bought a 1974 Sprint 150 Veloce in bianco lucido which we'll be using for customer deliveries. I couldn't be happier with the experience and know that you get what you pay for... there is no such thing as a cheap deal. Pay the going rate and get the best.

If you ride a scooter, this is your place in SF. Awesome service - just repaired my leaking carburetor for free. Warning! They sell vintage scooters of all kinds specializing in the coolest Italian bikes you will find anywhere.

I've been riding scooters for 20 years in SF as my main transportation for work. 18 months ago I was referred to Moto Java because my scooter was about to die and I'd need a replacement soon. Mike, Ben and their team at Moto Java gave me an honest assessment about what needed to be fixed, gave me an itemized invoice showing me it'd be better I traded my old scooter for parts and bought something new. They appreciated I was an experienced rider, knew what I wanted and didn't try to oversell me on something I didn't want and gave me a fair price for my trade in. My previous scooter dealers/mechanics have given me a wide range of mileage for routine maintenance. Mike and Ben gave me an easy, clear number to remember so I bring my scooter in for routine maintenance based on the specific scooter I bought. Every time I call for an appointment Moto Java gets me in fast and finishes earlier than estimated. They also give me an itemized receipt of what was done and a heads up to what the next maintenance bill will cost so I'm not caught off guard. My review is based on my scooter that I bought from Moto Java. However I know they sell and service and sell a variety of motorcycles like long range highway motorcycles to mountain bikes to scooters. Moto Java is easily accessible off S Van Ness. Mike and Ben are always up for a chat about what they sell, no pressure sales and offer honest estimates about any repairs you might need. Definitely check out Moto Java.

I Do NOT recommend . First off I went in because I needed tires, I had a blow out in my rear tire and decided to just get both replaced. So, the tires were a little pricey and the labor charge was insane. But I value quality over price so I went for it. The tires are terrible (Michelin) it doesn't seem balanced and it just doesn't feel right. Usually with new tires I get this secure sensation when I ride ( not this time) Secondly, they were pitching me on other services that I found strange because I just had them done at a school with an instructor. Thirdly, on my way home, my storage box fell off my bike on the freeway, when I went back, they claimed they hadn't touched it, it was odd to me because, I ride everyday and had no issues. Lastly, instead of apologizing, I get a mechanic yelling at me saying i was at fault. When I asked to speak to the owner, I was told that he lives out of state. After all this mess I spent hours reading past reviews and found that others had similar experiences, but my biggest takeaway was how the owner/s replied to some of the commentators. I found it defensive, rude and never taking accountability, always deflecting the bad service or work they've done.
