An exception to service of any sort. Be it cars or motorcycles. These guys are close and they have great attention to detail. Customer service is the best, especially over the phone. Also, when you show up you won't stand around for 30 minutes before they even acknowledge you. Personally, I could never get into a business where the level of customer service they provide given any circumstance is unparalleled. Were I in this line of business? I would have a sign. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. I can tell within 1 minute of talking to someone, whether they're going to whine over a grease smudge or provide some level of good faith, I would refuse to service their bike. Before I gave less than a three-star review, it would have to be a pretty serious breach of traditional business conduct. I mean if you're not going to wrench on your own bike and you entrust to someone else, simple courtesy is simply not return your cherished business I'm sure. Or next service call bring it up. For example, scratches on your aluminum swingarm. The next time you're in to have a light bulb changed, bring up the scratches or call them immediately after you find it and Make note on the receipt who you talk to, what time and date you talk to them and simply tell them catch it next time or "hey, I'm concerned about the integrity of the repair. Over the phone, or return in person, but not online. It's uncool and it's just probably one more reason to hang up the out of business sign. The right to refuse service to anyone is a legitimate business practice. It's disappointing to read about a local bike shop getting blasted in the reviews for a practice. A customer themselves is simply unable to perform but takes exception in your good faith efforts. Take your business elsewhere. I assure you there's many other customers that highly value their effort. The amount of love they show for the sport, in a simple error, shouldn't be run through the mud online. Things in life happen. It's just the way it is. The IRS could come after you and it could be an absolute mistake, but things happen. That's my only disagreement about online reviews is the effectiveness of some of the posts, especially the negative. I mean it's got to be pretty bad epic to give somebody as a single star review and imagine how it makes you look as a person to be so nitpicky. Problem is reviews online will be here long after you're gone. You need to think about that. They don't deserve this type of treatment. Only in San Francisco. read more

I called for a quote and Q answered honestly that they would be a bit busy for the week and I should bring my bike back on a specific day, I am super glad he told me that because I have had experiences where shops would hold my bike hostage for months when I could have been riding it! When I did bring it in, they had the work done by the very next day! He took a look at other things on my bike making everything solid and safe to ride. My motorcycle is my only form of transportation in the city, so I am thankful for the amazing suspension work and the timeliness of it. I bought a Yamaha MT-09 and it came with racing suspension but it was so stiff that it bounces me off the seat when I hit little bumps even on the street. It was even scarier on the freeway if you can imagine being kicked off the seat at high speeds, so I didn't want to continue to ride this bike until I get the suspension adjusted. I brought it to an independent shop near my house where I got an oil change and he made some adjustments to the suspension, but I was still getting bounced off my seat and I didn't get the feeling he really knew how to adjust it. Thru recommendation of my buddy Scooter, I looked up The S Shop online and it did say they specialized in suspension work, so I scheduled an appointment on a Saturday as I guess they only work on suspension on Saturdays. Brought my bike in, Jeffrey greeted me, investigated the suspension, and asked me a few questions including if the bike felt like it was fighting against me on turns and I said "No, it's not bad". Jeffrey then worked on my bike and about half an hour later, he told me to take it for a test ride and it should feel 180 degrees different. Took it for a spin and WOW! He wasn't kidding as it was night and day! Also, now I understood what Jeffrey meant when he asked me if it felt like my bike was fighting against me on the turns, because I can now make much tighter turns and the bike was not fighting against me while turning. Money well spent as I can now enjoy riding my bike without the fear of the bike broncoing me off my bike at high speeds and possibly dying. Also, the service included lifetime suspension adjustment if I choose to change it up! Cool! Going forward, I will be bringing my bike to them for servicing even though the independent shop I previously brought it to is walkable distance (0.9 mi) from my home vs. 8 miles away to The S Shop, I feel very confident that they're very knowledgeable and experienced for servicing my bike. read more

This is probably the best kept secret for motorcycle suspension and setup in the whole Bay Area! These guys at The S Shop are truly talented. With a background as an AMA pit technician, suspension service and rebuild instructor for our bay area's own Moto Shop, and a long career in the automotive repair industry, I can assure you that your motorcycle will be in extremely good hands. Jeff and Chuan do spectacular work. I was referred to them when I was in the process of sending out my ohlins forks to be rebuilt by one of the two known local suspension shops. Several people told me that The S Shop can rebuild my forks and set up my suspension and it would be set up to my riding style and not to what other suspension pros thinks the "right" set up should be. All riders are different and The S Shop points this out and tunes and sets up your bike accordingly. Not to mention when I took my forks over there, the turn around time for the rebuild was literally over night! Talk about stupid fast! So after they earned my confidence, I had them do a complete front end swap on my Ducati 998 and that was done in several days. Hands down the best work I've seen and I've been going to multiple shops in the bay area for the last 11 years of my riding career. The S Shop is the shop to go to for motorcycle service. Whether its simple maintenance or fine suspension tuning, Jeffrey and Chuan know what they are doing and will not disappoint you. I use to take my bikes to a shop in San Francisco that closed up after about 30 years of being in business. I hate to say it but I am glad they closed or I would never have started going to The S Shop. I first brought my 1198s to Jeffrey to have him set the suspension. The suspension originally setup by a "well known" guy down near Santa Clara, I think you all know whom I'm talking about, but after Jeffrey's fine tuning it was just better in every way. I've been back ever since. My bike is currently in there after a rather embarrassing crash at Thunderhill and they are taking great care of it; going over every inch of the bike and making sure everything is running perfectly. My favorite part about The S Shop is their location. It's great not having to leave Pacifica for valuable service. I called them up with questions about rear tire installation. The man on the phone was very informative without being condescending (sometimes an issue for female riders). I had a tire shipped to their location and got it installed quickly for $80. Everyone I spoke with was very friendly and helpful. Lastly, I'm very impressed with their phone answering. Always a pleasure to work with Jeff and the S Shop - I take my street KTM RC390 and a track Daytona 675R for suspension tuning there. I modified brakes, rear subframe, and some of the body work on the Daytona over the winter, so, naturally, took the bike to Jeff. After Jeff's adjustments, the bike feels very stable under heavy braking, allows solid drive out of the corners, but also absorbs the curb bumps in turn 12 of THill East at full throttle with no issues. There are always reputable and experienced suspension experts at the track, but Jeff's setup has worked the best for me! read more

Contacted Jeff regarding getting my CBR600rr suspension fine tuned. Got here early and Jeff came up and greeted me and inspected my bike. Found out the suspension was unbalanced from previous owner so he adjusted it for me. I was told to take it for a ride around and come back. The suspension after the tune felt amazing and I definitely felt more comfortable and confident on the bike. The rear was no longer hopping around and the front felt great. I am so grateful to Jeff and Chuan, not only for their work on my bike but for their fantastic customer service. I am pretty clueless about bike mechanics but these guys patiently sat with me and my Street Triple, looking at the bike, and asking me lots of questions (without making me feel like I ought to know how everything works) in order to tune it to ride the best for me and my riding style, as opposed to what works for most riders (being a 5'4" woman, this was much appreciated). They did a full inspection, changed the oil, tuned the suspension, adjusted the chain, and even took the bike to get the TPS reset. The best shop ever. 1. Quality, better than in typical "WE CAN DO EVERYTHING" shops, where they brain washing you and trying to invent bicycle again, practicing on your motorcycle. 2. The best customer service ever. Regularly updates on your bike. So you know what is actually happening with your bike. Estimates, always before actual work, so it will be no surprise after. And it's not like you should do it or death, everything with very detailed explanation. 3.Very convenient location. Here is what I got: front brake service fork service Oil change set the Sag height - that is amazing service them self. Before my bike was feels like huge heave and because of that hard to turn and maneuver - very very sluggish, (CBR 1000rr) After that it's became light and easy, fun to ride - like totally different bike. I didn't even know about existing of some kind of adjustment like that, so my advice after MY OWN experience, Do this first even if you just bought the bike, that is amazing. Jeffrey and Chuan are an amazing couple of guys. As a new motorcycle rider I didn't (and frankly still don't) know a lot of what I've gotten into. But these guys have been endlessly patient with me, helping me learn, and making sure my bike is in good, safe riding shape. Living on the Coastside there aren't a lot of options for getting work done on your bike without going over the hill, particularly if you need help on the weekend. These guys, however, have been a godsend - great quality work, sage advice, reasonable prices, and always willing to work with me on scheduling. As a relatively new rider, I don't ride very far from home so, having The S Shop right there in Pacifica is much easier for me to get to than going into the city or over the hill. When I was struggling to mount new tires with my limited tools and experience, I reached out to Jeffery on a Sunday afternoon for help.
