This is such a cute place downtown! Service was great & so was the food! You have to het the plate of scones! Delicious

I love real food. The type of food where you can actually taste not just artificial sugars and salts, but the actual food being served. Enter Nook, a budding breakfast/brunch addition to the heart of downtown -- a new face introduced during the surge of city-center investments. Yes, Nook has the nearly identical look and feel of most of these new American styled eateries in the downtown area. Built in the spot once belonging to V Fine Thai (which has an absolutely fantastic outdoor patio), it's modern. Posh. Plush. And seemingly caters to a highly specific clientele. This irks me to no end about downtown. But Nook has won me over, and it happened with the very first bite. First, I need to give kudos to the uber attentive and high quality service provided by Steven. We arrived during the latter part of a the lunch rush, just a bit more than an hour before closing. The only seats available were at the bar. Not ideal, but lovely given the open kitchen. I enjoyed watching the head chef and his mighty, tiny team working with ease. Steven let us know after we had placed our orders that a tabled had just opened. He and the hostess helped move us across the room to what turned out to be a much more pleasant seating arrangement. Awesome. The menu boasts locally-fused eats and regional favorites. Tamale, BLT, huevos rancheros, smashed hash, granola and the like. We opted for the salmon BLT, which came with a hefty serving of their perfectly seasoned fries, and the fancy grilled cheese, served with jam, arugula, prosciutto and brie. Fancy, fancy. The flavors melded perfectly. The salmon was perfectly flavored, as were the fries, which tasted like actual potatoes -- not grease. And the serving was ample. I am especially excited to try the grilled cheese, tomato soup, perhaps one of their burgers, and certainly their Benedict. I look forward to my next meal, and encourage you to check it out. read more

Food was amazing and Grace was an amazing server!!!! Cute little brunch spot for small and bigger groups :)

We love Nook! This is our favorite place to celebrate special occasions... especially Valentine's Day! A small intimate kitchen with amazing creations! It's a popular place, so highly recommend making reservations to avoid waits. It is popular so be sure to be on time for your reservation! Kudos to Nicki at the hostess table who very politely and professionally explained this to some super rude people. It's Valentine's Day, spread the love! read more

I had lunch here yesterday with friends. I ordered a Nook Madame and a cold-brew coffee. The food was good, the coffee OK, the prices reasonable. But the menu situation needs some work. They expect you to look at their online menu with your phone; when I asked for a paper menu, they brought one, but it was out of date, did not include some items (including the Nook Madame) and had old prices that had since been raised. Also, when I asked for a spoon to stir sugar into my coffee, they brought a knife and fork wrapped up in a cloth napkin. Nice, but not a spoon. I used the knife. Good enough. read more

Went there for lunch. Arrived around 12:15. By 1PM, food was not served although some tables came in after us had their food. We had to pack it up and leave because of the long wait time. No apology whatsoever. I ordered a sandwich and side salad. Of course it was packed in the same box so now I am enjoying a soggy sandwich and toasted salad in my office. Will not go there again. I have to say that I kind of like the decoration of the place but that's not enough ...... read more

Food: 5 stars Service: 1 star Let me just say, we called and tried to make a reservation and were told they do not take reservations, and we could not put our name on this list until we arrived to the restaurant. 45 min wait was quoted to us. I am not from Tucson, so we decided to go and wait. When we got there, many empty tables, no one waiting, and the host asked us if we had a reservation...which is odd considering they don't take reservations? Regardless, the food was incredible. I got the steak & eggs, medium rare and over medium eggs. I subbed the hash for fries. We got a cinnamon pancake for the table. I have nothing bad to say!! The service, however, yikes. Took us probably 45 minutes to get our food, even after ordering the pancake for the table as the "appetizer." The server brought us our drinks and that's about it. Not once asked us how the food was, or even if we wanted more to drink. read more

Delicious eggs Benedict! Also super nice staff and fun outdoor space. Would highly recommend coming here post-hike :-)

everything was great but as an upcoming chef was off put by the chefs and people in the kitchen not wearing hair nets, there was a hair in my fries and I just hope they can fix this unsanitary problem read more

Great breakfast/brunch spot. I just stumbled upon this place one morning looking for breakfast. Service was a little slow, but the food was delicious. read more

We were on our way to a play and this place was on the way so we stopped in and decided to eat here. Service was a bit slow but I think it's because there were only 2 members of wait staff. I decided to get the tropical bellini. It came in a tall, thin glass with a little umbrella on top. The umbrella was a bit unnecessary but the drink was good. This place offers vegan and gluten-free options. My partner was not too hungry so he just got a bowl of the seasonal soup (which was tomato). I got the cauliflower gnocchi. It is made from cauliflower instead of pasta, which is why it's gluten free and for vegans. Texturally, it was different. It reminded me of fried tofu. It was a bit tougher than I though it would be. But I guess it's a really popular dish because I got the second to last serving of it. A group sitting at the table next to use tried to order it but apparently they ran out. They also ran out of the tomato soup. My partner got the last of it. Overall, the gnocchi was good. Next time, I will try to Korean short ribs. Some guy got it on the table next to us and it looked soooooo good. The interior is very nice. The walls are decorated by painting from a local artist. The chairs are soft, but I'm short and I sink into the chair, so it makes sitting kind of difficult. My other complaint is the fact that it was 6pm and they were already running out of things. Other than that, nice place. read more

Had brunch with a friend here this morning. Cute place, love the decor, esp the exposed brick. We were seated immediately and I ordered an orange juice and my friend got the mocha. The OJ was so-so, but my friend's mocha looked delicious. I had some of the whipped cream--they loaded it up--and it was really good. The menu is full of literally mouthwatering items, sorry to sound cliche. I had something that I can't remember the name of, the fries something? Or something fries? Anyway, it was fries, carnitas, jalapeños, 2 eggs, and some kind of yummy sauces. It was very good, but way too many fries and not enough meat. But it was very tasty. My friend got The Godfather Benedict and she loved it. The food is a little pricey, both of our items were about $11, but it was good quality. The service was fine until we put in our order and then it seemed to take a long time for the food to be made; meanwhile the server never stopped by our table to say anything during that waiting time. read more

Food here is excellent brunch fare, small twists in classic dishes. I had the breakfast tamale pie, and would literally return to tucson just for this dish. My date has the godfather benedict. The prosciutto is a nice, uspcale twist on a traditional benedict. We shared the cinnamon roll griddlecakes, which were melt in your mouth scrumptious. The sparkling lemonade punch is delicious and refreshing read more

If you have not ventured into this quant hidden place add it on your to-do list. The food, staff and atmosphere are like nothing else you will try in downtown these days. Great and varied menu items. Not many traditional dishes for breakfast but in a great way. Wanted to order everything on the menu to taste. House made sausage was exceptional. Haley was our waitress and she was fantastic. read more

The Nook is a basically nice place with nice food. The ugly steak is always great with eggs.

Look, I get the pandemic issue but at the same time the way this place is being managed and the way the staff runs the place is not acceptable. It's a breakfast place, eggs, burgers, whatever the dish may be there's no way it should take more than 15-20 to come out to the tables specially when there are 5-6 tables available and the place not even close to be at full capacity. Even with large parties and groups since they already got served the other orders should come out much less than the hour we waited. At least go back and check on your tables and keep them updated. Breakfast places should be efficient and quick the wait time is just ridiculous. read more

Oh man what can I say about Nook Pros: amazing food, nice atmosphere, downtown, cinnamon roll pancakes drool worthy, quality food Cons: Poor Time Management. I've come here 3x and each time it is dirt slow with drinks and food to come out. I've even been during a time where I looked around and would consider it to be pretty empty inside and it still took forever. They definitely need more help in the kitchen or more servers. Easily expect a wait and total time there 1.5-2 hrs from start to finish. read more

Hidden little restaurant in downtown. Food and service were great. Loved open kitchen restaurants.

Food options are great. They have some healthy but delicious items. Service is great. And the inside is so cozy

Yesterday I stopped at Nook for some lunch. I had the best experience! The whole atmosphere was super cute and industrial. There is a cute patio area outside, and the restaurant has two entrances facing two different streets, so you have plenty of space for street parking. The staff was also friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. I ordered the steak and eggs (poached) . The steak was perfectly cooked and the chimichurri sauce was divine with the perfect amount of spice The eggs were poached perfectly, and the potato hash was simple yet super tasty! The portion sizes were perfect. I ate everything on my plate but did not feel overly full. The prices were reasonable- I paid about $12. Needles to say, I would highly recommend going here for a brunch or lunch outing! . read more

I got the shakshuka benedict. It was delicious! great flavors, textures, and colors. It felt like I was eating something luxurious, but still healthy (ish). Nice ambiance. Made an online reservation and it all was smooth and easy. Prices were great for the quality. Loved it and will definitely go back. read more

Easter Brunch ~ Very Tasty ~ Lots of Options ~ Great Bloody Mary, focus on flavor and not all the garnish, glass rimmed with Tajín. Family had Jumbo Sausage & Gravy, Tucson Chicken Sandwich, Nook Madame*, and Nook Breakfast. All very good. Prices were reasonable. Busy before noon, slowed down a little after. We will certainly be back. read more

We went to the Nook for Mother's Day last year and loved it, and decided to come back this year. Such a disappointment and we likely won't be back. The service: I made a reservation for 9 at 8:30am two weeks ahead of time. They don't allow you to sit until your whole table is there, which I don't love but lots of places do that. At 8:35, the hostess, who we learned is also the owner, came over to tell us we had 5 minutes before they gave our table away, since they were "fully booked". We asked if we could sit and get started on ordering coffee since the last 2 were parking and our table was ready, and were told no. While I understand some restaurants are strict with these policies, the way in which she communicated this to us was incredibly rude, like we were an inconvenience and were taking away business from them. She also informed us we needed to leave by 10am for the next table. Our table was sat around 8:39 and the service was just ok. The entire time we were there, the restaurant was only half full (see attached picture). Which was interesting since the owner told us they were fully booked and would have to give away our table (to whom??). When we left, we could hear the owner threatening another group they would give their table away (there was no wait list or line..so again, to whom??). The service wasn't quick, and we joked that we expected them to bring our food in to-go boxes the way they were acting. The food: The food was not good, which was so disappointing because last year it was fabulous. Last year, they had a few extra menu items for Mother's Day. They did not have this this year. The chilaquiles were basically dry nachos, had no sauce, and the meat was tasteless. The Benedict's poached egg was completely cooked through like a hard boiled egg. One person could barely eat her avocado toast because of the overwhelming taste of roasted garlic. Overall, we were disappointed with our experience at The Nook this year. The owner obviously doesn't care about hospitality, which is a shame. With so many other great brunch locations in Tucson, we won't be returning. read more

We live in the Tucson area but have never heard of this place. While staycationing at the JW, we decided to try this spot for breakfast based on the pics. No disrespect to Bisbee BC or First Watch, but Nook is hands down our new favorite breakfast spot. I had the steak and eggs, my wife had the honey chipotle carnitas benedict. Somehow, both dishes tasted bested than they looked; far exceeding our expectations. We started with blueberry scones which were soft, warm, and moist...best scones we've ever had. Combined with the atmosphere of their outdoor patio, this place is perfection. Didn't hurt that it was a cool 75 degrees on a Saturday morning in July. read more

I made a reservation prior to arriving to ensure seating for myself and my party. Masks were enforced when walking throughout the restaurant, and worn by workers at all times. One of my new go-to brunch spots in Tucson! Nook is great for special occasions or just a fun Sunday brunch. Patio: adorable, unique, and dog friendly. Mimosas: unbelievable selection. I'm a mimosa purist and yet I couldn't get enough of the Mexican Candy mimosa. You've got to try it! Food: excellent options for any diet. I love that they offer a good variety of healthy options that are also delicious. Too often brunch spots only have greasy, fatty foods but Nook has something for everyone. Can't wait to come back! read more

I stopped by here on the way through town while on a road trip, and it was the perfect idea. (yay for me!) Almost zero wait to be seated (I did have a reservation) and the service was stellar. I ordered a champagne, avocado toast, and a side of bacon. The bacon was hearty, which warmed my traveling heart. Grabbed a baked treat and coffee to go on the way out, this spot was really everything I needed. If I was in town on the regular I would be by a few weekends a month. Cute outdoor space, very friendly staff and clientele. Keep it up! read more
