But beyond events, this is also somewhere good for a family dinner, date night, or business meeting.. We happened to visit during happy hour, so naturally, we took advantage of the oyster special. We eat oysters all over the country, and these immediately became some of the best we've had in Dallas. I'm a big fan of smaller to medium-sized oysters, and these were right in that sweet spot. Absolutely loved them. Next up was the Caesar salad. Sometimes you can just tell a restaurant should have a good Caesar, and thankfully, we were right. The dressing was excellent, the romaine was finely chopped just how I like it, and the croutons were actually good! And trust me, if the croutons aren't good, I'm not calling it a great Caesar salad. My only small critique was that the creamed corn was a little sweeter than I expected, but it was still very good. And now, saving the best for last: the clam chowder! I am a HUGE clam chowder guy. If I see clam chowder or seafood chowder on a menu, I'm almost always ordering it. Partly because I love it, but also because I'm always curious to see just how well a restaurant can execute something that seems so simple. I like the lemon pepper sauce the best with these. Manila clams: 7/10 these are ok, they are more chewy than the white clams. I am glad I tried them to establish the difference. Crab legs: 10/10 well cooked not over cooked. Juicy and fresh. Sausage, corn, potatoes: 10/10 sausage plumb and juicy with a snap. Corn sweet, plump, and perfectly cooked. Potatoes most of them were cooked perfectly and just a few could have cooked a bit longer.
