I had the beef noodle soup and it was pretty good. Generally, I cannot tell the difference between freshly made and regular noodles most of the time, but not here. I would describe the noodles tasting (not texture) kind of doughy, but in a good way. The broth was rich and enjoyable too. My only complaint is that they could add more meat, as it was only a few thin slices of beef. So even from just a nutrition perspective I would hesitate getting it again just because it's not nearly enough protein for a full meal in my opinion. Overall I enjoyed it though, I do recommend trying if you are into noodles
Was here for lunch over 2 weeks ago to meet my friend that works in the area. We walked from her office near Paseo to old town and we ended up here. There's a menu outside of the place so you can browse so you can check it out before going in. Since this was a slow day (most offices were closed day before a holiday) we were seated right away. My friend ordered beef with rice and I of course wanted a noodle dish. The server suggested some noodle dishes but I felt too hot to go for soup so I ordered the eggs and tomatoes over knife cut noodles. So eggs were overwhelming TBH and I wished I ordered what the server suggested but I do love the noodles. You can tell they're freshly made. Will definitely return to try the popular dishes. The tables are close to each other so you can see what the next table ordered. The beef bone soup looks really good. Dining area is clean, casual and good space for friends and families. I see a lot of young kids with parents. I If you're into fresh noodles definitely try this place out.
I've been to Noodle St before, but not this location. I usually get dan dan noodles but today I decided to try the Korean beef. They had just opened and I was seated promptly. It was nice and cool inside. The see-through glass in the back allows you to see the cooks make the noodles by hand. So when I got my dish, after the first taste, I was underwhelmed. There was a large rice to meat ratio, but the meat, which I was hoping to be tender, was strangely falling apart in my mouth. My mom overcooks meat alot and it feels like it disintegrates in your mouth as you eat it. And this felt exactly like that. It was very feeble. For the price, I was hoping for a little more quality meat. I was surprised as this restaurant is known for high quality dishes. I think I'm going to stick with the noodle dishes from now on.
Quick service and really good broth. I got the knife cut noodles but next time I would try the thinner ones. The spicy version has a fun kick to it, and is very flavorful.
Popped into Noodle St. in Old Town Pasadena for an early lunch, and was thrilled to discover this small chain offering Asian fusion creations. It's a comfortable spot with padded banquettes or chairs at the tables, which feature chrome frames and (very good-looking) faux marble tops; along with white walls and light-colored wood accents, the owners have created a clean, simple, welcoming environment. The mood is jostled even further into a specific vibe of calmness with the carefully curated music being played: bossa nova covers of pop hits from bygone days (The Bee Gees' "More Than A Woman" and the Bee Gees'-written Streisand hit, "A Woman In Love" being examples), but it all works. The menu offers a varied selection of dishes from several Asian cultures, from Chinese Beef Rolls to Japanese noodles and soups to Korean Beef over rice. It's not a huge menu, but there's definitely enough there for everyone to find something interesting to eat. The food is all cooked in view of the customers by a staff of chefs working in a sparkling clean kitchen enclosed by windows, and the staff is uniformly friendly despite juggling a lunchtime crowd at the tables plus quite a lot of to-go orders. I tried 2 really enjoyable and satisfying dishes. Beef Rolls featured thinly sliced brisket rolled inside crispy fried crepes with scallion, cilantro and a touch of Hoisin sauce. The brisket had a mild but distinctive flavor that spoke of careful preparation, while the slightly astringent pop from the onions and herbs was a nice foil for the inherent fattiness of the fried crepes. The Hoisin sauce was very subtly deployed, lending tasty support without overwhelming everything else. I added some of the house chili oil for a little extra spice and peppery depth, but these well-made rolls were terrific all by themselves. It should also be noted that the portion is very generous, especially for the price ($12.80), and more than enough for 2 people (perhaps 4 people, if each has 1/2). My other dish was the Qinghai Clear Cold Noodle, a terrific-looking, and even better-tasting blend of thick, chewy noodles, fresh chopped garlic, veggies, tofu and chili sauce that's got a bit of heat but more so a pleasing depth of Chinese spices. This appetizer is packed with flavor and just happens to be Vegan (as are a number of menu items), so it can be enjoyed by anyone. All in all, this was a fantastic mid-week lunch that pleased the senses without breaking the bank, and I even brought some home for later. Do give this Noodle St. a try -- and if you're not in Pasadena, check their website, because they have 8 locations, with a 9th opening soon in Sherman Oaks.
As the name of this place would suggest, this restaurant has great noodles! I ordered the savory braised chicken noodle ($15.80) and scallion pancakes ($7.80). The noodles came with plenty of chicken, potatoes, onions, bell peppers, and of course, knife-cut, hand-pulled noodles. The dish had quite a kick. They went heavy on the Szechuan peppercorn, and my mouth was tingling during all of dinner! The chicken was tender, and the noodles were fresh and perfectly chewy. But in my opinion, there were just too many onions! I felt like I had to dig through onions to find the noodles. The scallion pancakes were delicious. They came out hot and perfectly crispy. The service was also great. The staff was friendly and kept my glass of water full.
Solid place that I would absolutely go to again and try something new. The place is bright, open, clean, and a decent size inside. Service is fairly quick (have to be to keep up with the amount of people coming in and out) and friendly enough. The food (outside of mine) was very tasty and had a decent selection size. Great flavor and very fresh. Mine (seasonal veggie) was very underwhelming. The taste, compared to everything else, was mid. It needed salt or some other seasonings. I ended up adding chili to it, which helped, but not much, which made me think salt was the missing factor. Not sure how that happened because the other soup, and my friends braised chicken noodles, tasted absolutely perfect. If anything, the other dishes were super bold with their flavors. I love that you can pick different handmade noodles. They were so good. A little chewy and cooked well.
My friends and I decided to try this place out after reading the wonderful reviews & seeing the pictures of their dishes. I was also craving soup so this was the perfect option! We ordered their chicken wings, garlic string beans, spicy beef noodle soup, scallion pancakes, & beef scallion roll. The food came out within 10 minutes of ordering, which I appreciated since I was starving. The soup was packed with so much flavor & had a generous amount of knife cut noodles. The beef rolls had a nice light flavor to it & wasn't dry at all. The garlic string beans were PACKED with garlic, which was delicious. The chicken wings were a bit dry but nonetheless still pretty good. My friends really liked their scallion pancakes & devoured them all. Overall, I would definitely come back if I was ever in the area again. It definitely satisfied my cravings for Chinese food.
First time here and we really liked it! Noodles are handmade and the soup broth was outstanding! Actually, the broth is the first thing I taste. Looking forward to coming back and trying the spicy beef noodle soup. The potato string shrimp was a great side dish. Love that you can see the chefs in the back, creating the noodles. Customer Service was excellent. Located in Pasadena on Colorado Boulevard, obviously had to park in a parking structure, this is the only bummer of eating in Pasadena, street parking is extremely limited. We will definitely be back!

On July 23, My family decided to eat here for dinner. As we entered we noticed how super clean it was & so were their restrooms. The restaurant is very organized & attention to details. As we were seated we saw the chef actually cooking in front of us, this place is known for their handmade noodles. Leung was our waiter he asked we had any questions, we did & he answered them beautifully! Great quick service. It was a chilly day so we wanted something soupy. You get options from appetizers, noodle soup, and rice dishes. There's an option to choose what type of noodle you want: round, flat, triangle, or knife cut. No matter the type, the noodles were very fresh, you can even see them making it through the large clear room in the back. I ordered the signature beef noodle with triangle noodles. The soup needed a tad bit more seasoning but it was good, especially the noodles. Temperature was perfect. Great quick place to drop by if you're shopping in Pasadena. I would probably come back and try the other items in the menu.
Is the best noodle I've ever had. Nd I'm a noodle fanatic. Thy serve northern part of China style noodle , specifically lanzhou (兰州拉面）and it comes with ur choice if variety of hand pulled noodles. And knife sliced (刀削） noodles The noodles are well made nd it's extremely tangy with amazing texture The broth is also well seasoned The dinning area is also clean and spacious Service was fast and thy will take the time to explain what each item comes with and the spicy levels of it Over all, 10 outta 10 mandatory to try when in the area

Finally made it to the Pasadena branch today! I've been meaning to check this spot out in Old Town, and it didn't disappoint. The interior is really nice and has a great vibe for a casual lunch. The service was super friendly from the moment we walked in, which is always a plus. We shared a few different bowls: * Cold Noodles * Beef Noodle Soup * Tomato Egg Noodles The highlight was definitely the noodles themselves--super chewy and fresh. My family and I were craving noodles. We decided to have our dinner at Noodle St We waited around twenty minutes which was convenient. The restaurant was busy, but It had inviting ambience. The staff were very welcoming and genuinely warm.They came promptly to take our order and checked on us a couple of times. We got many dishes: -Potato string shrimp 5/5 -Shrimp stir fry noodles 5/5 - Chicken stir fry noodles 5/5 We ordered standard and round noodles. Their handmade noodles were fresh and very savory.The amount was generous. -Scallion pancake 5/5 It was flaky, rich, fragrant , flavorful and delightful. -Cucumber salad 5/5 It was crisp, well seasoned and refreshing - Beef Roll 5/5 It was rich, savory and had generous amount of filling. My favorite Noodle St. location! The interior is beautiful, and it's never too busy whenever I come, so I'm always able to snag a seat right away. Service is efficient and attentive; they regularly check in to make sure you have enough water, which I really appreciate. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu if you're craving something homey and comforting. Some of my favorites include the chow mein, tomato egg noodles, and the beef roll pancake. The signature beef noodle soup's brother has a very clean taste; though I do wish it came with a bit more meat. The chicken wontons also have a clean flavor (honestly better than Din Tai Fung in my opinion). Always so happy to come back and try other things on the menu! Parking tip: Street parking in this area is tough, so I don't even bother. There's a structure behind Miniso that charges just a couple of bucks for the first few hours. Checked out Noodle St for the first time based on all the raving reviews. The dishes were good but found them to be somewhat average. The beef noodle soup seemed to be popular. The beef bone broth was lovely with al dente noodles. Loved that you can select the cut of noodle for each order as well. The service was friendly and attentive but with so many options in the area, Noodle St didn't really offer an entree that stands out. read more

We were tired and mildly hungry after a long day and ended up finding this noodle spot while walking around Old Pasadena. With a party of four, we decided to order a variety of dishes to share so everyone could try a bit of everything. We ordered: * Spicy Beef Noodle Soup - Great Bold and satisfying with an easy level of heat. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the four chunky pieces of beef were super tender. * Signature Beef Noodle Soup - Good A classic and comforting bowl. The lighter broth was well balanced and aromatic. The beef came in traditional thin slices, more Northern-style Chinese beef noodle. It would be even better if it had the same chunky beef as the spicy version. * Triangle Spring Mix Salad - Good Large, light, and refreshing. A nice palate cleanser between the heavier dishes. * Cucumber Salad - Good Crisp and refreshing with a subtle tang. Simple but effective. * Scallion Pancake - Great Super crispy on the outside and soft inside with a nice scallion aroma. Great for sharing. * Chicken Spicy Wontons (mild) - Good Well seasoned with a gentle kick. The wontons were tender and paired nicely with the sauce, though I still prefer the original pork spicy wontons. * Potato String Shrimp - Great Crunchy, flavorful, and well balanced. The shredded potato added a fun texture, and the shrimp were cooked just right. * Passion Fruit Green Tea - Great Refreshing with a nice balance of sweetness and tang--perfect for washing everything down. got signature beef noodle soup with knife cut and the chicken spicy wontons. the chicken wontons were really good! definitely the highlight of the meal. signature beef noodle soup is good too but didn't have as much of an impact as the wontons. the broth tastes really clean and you can add more chili oil if you want it to be spicier which i like. service was attentive and constantly asked if we needed more water. the water tastes crisp there too, maybe it's because i'm from oc but pasadena water tastes so much better. read more

Noodle St has several locations throughout California. This location is located in downtown Pasadena away from a bit of the hustle and bustle on nearby Colorado road. The prime reason to visit this restaurant is for freshly made noodles. The pulled noodles are made right in front of you in the open kitchen. The restaurant actually offers a choice of four freshly made noodle types! We tried the triangle noodle with chicken entree- the hunks of chicken were impressive in the dish. We also got the beef pancakes that consist of flanked beef, cilantro and more all wrapped up in the perfect wrapper- add a little hoisin and chili sauce and you are all set. In addition to these items, we got the chili oil wontons. All three of these dishes amounted to under 50 dollars with tip and tax. Pretty good in today's economy. As for the environment- the dining area is causal, open and spacious. The dining spaces opens up to the kitchen were you can watch your food being made. The staff is super friendly and attentive. Parking can be tough in downtown Pasadena. I suggest the city parking structures which are minimal in cost. Otherwise try to grab a parking spot on the street- but don't forget to pay the meter. read more
I was with a few work colleagues heading to lunch. I happened to see Noodle St on Colorado Blvd. I knew I had to check them out. The next day I walked here from my work place for a late lunch. It was 1 mile walk to and 1 mile walk from. There were no customers at the time. Lots of inside dining space. Very clean and bright. I can see the chefs from afar on the other side of the entrance. The gentleman behind the counter was very nice and helpful. I didn't pre-order so I ordered right there at the counter. I got the Savory Braised Chicken with knife cut noodles, green onion pancake, and peach black tea drink. I waited no more than 15 minutes. Food came out piping hot and heavy. Wow, there were a lot of moist chicken and tons of veggies. Texture of the noodles were just right. Overall dish was very savory and delicious! I would order it again. As for the green onion pancake, it was light and crispy. Yum! Peach black tea was refreshing as it had the perfect balance between peach and tea flavor. I would return back here to try their other dishes. Btw, they don't serve Dan Dan Noodles at this location even though it is owned by the same owner of their Monrovia location. I've ordered delivery from here before so I wanted to check out the actual place. It was so nice and clean inside. Wasn't packed on a Thursday night. The servers were very polite and were attentive. The food is definitely worth coming back for! They have a person cutting the noodles that you can see through a window in the back. I had the signature beef soup and my bf had the spicy version. The quality of the soup I had was phenomenal! The flavors were there! I highly recommend trying this place out! read more

Atmosphere: 5/5 - The restaurant is really nice and spacious. It's a casual noodle soup spot, so I didn't have any reservations upon arrival, but got seated right away. The restaurant was really clean and modern, and you can see the noodles being made fresh in the back. Service: 5/5 - The staff was really friendly and seated us immediately upon arrival. The service was good and we got our food quickly upon ordering. We were probably in and out of the restaurant within an hour. Food: 5/5 - I got their signature beef noodle soup and it was good! The portion was big and the noodles tasted fresh. There was also sufficient amount of beef in the soup, and you can request chili oil on the side if you want to make it spicy. Overall I had a great time dining here. I'd definitely come back to try their other items on the menu. Noodle Street is, without exaggeration, my favorite restaurant of all time. Hands down. No competition. It is consistently amazing, incredibly clean, the staff is respectful and kind, and most importantly for me, the food is HALAL, which already puts it in a category of its own. I genuinely plan my trips to LA around this place. That's how serious this is. I've been here over 10 times, and I can confidently say it has never disappointed. Ever. Let's talk about the star of my life: the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup with hand-pulled noodles, I always ask for no kale, and it is to die for. The broth is deep, rich, spicy in the best way, and the hand-pulled noodles are on another level. If you get the triangle noodles, you'll understand exactly what I mean. The texture, the chew, the way they soak up that broth... it is something else. This soup alone could change your life. Then there's the Korean BBQ beef rice. juicy, flavorful, perfectly cooked beef, every bite loaded with flavor. I literally crave this dish. And the beef pancake rolls... If you know, you KNOW. I would go to LA just to eat that again. They recently added chicken potstickers and of course we had to try them. Incredible. We've honestly tried almost everything on the menu (except for a few soups because once you find the soup, you don't stray). Every single thing has been consistently delicious. If they ever open a location in the Bay Area, I would be there every day. And I am not exaggerating. Noodle Street is the kind of place that ruins other restaurants for you. Once you've eaten here, you're chasing that feeling again. The quality, the flavor, the consistency, the comfort, everything about it is perfect. If you're in LA and you don't go to Noodle Street, you truly missed out. Period. read more

If you're standing in line, let me tell you... the wait is WORTH IT!! We waited about 20 minutes (honestly not too bad) to be seated. We had a very friendly, informative server who gave his food recommendations. Highlights: clean, lots of seating, HIGH quality food, quick service A couple tips from my experience: - the stir fry noodles are a safe bet. I got the chicken stir fry noodles and absolutely devoured it. The noodles had a perfect consistency (not too soft) and the the chicken and vegetables were juicy and flavorful - unless you're gluten free, don't get the gluten free noodle option. My friend tried it (not gluten free) and the flavor of the noodle is a bit different (not necessarily bad but not as good as the non-gluten free noodle options) - if you're in a group, pick an appetizer to split! We got the beef roll pancakes, one of my personal favorites, which helped satiate our hunger while waiting for our main courses. read more

Yes. They do use white sesame seeds in their chili oil condiment jar. The Veggie Noodle Soup does contain sesame oil, but it's removable. Also, the Korean Barbeque Beef with Rice does have white sesame seeds, but removable.
