I always like checking out new restaurants in the area, especially if it involves noodles. So when this restaurant hit my radar of course I was intrigued to try it out. The outdoor seating area is nice and there's plenty of space in between tables. My son and I were able to get seated right away and our waitress Christina was friendly and explained the difference between the different noodles and described some of the dishes. She checked on us frequently & made sure we were good the whole way through. We started with bean curds with peanuts and it was very mild and refreshing. I liked it a lot, the flavors weren't too strong and the bean curds were firm. I ordered the savory braised chicken noodles & it was really good. The chicken is extremely tender and the sauce is mildly spicy (but just enough to get my sinuses tingling) and it's served with triangular noodles and various vegetables. I love thick noodles and these were some of best I've had. My son had the signature beef noodles and he commented that the flat noodles were the perfect consistency and really enjoyed them along with the beef. Together with the appetizer the chicken was more than enough for me and I took the rest home with me for lunch tomorrow. I definitely recommend this restaurant & will return to try some of the other dishes, the menu looks pretty great! read more

Had high hopes for this place but seriously 3 out of 3 failed. I will not ever be back. Service was terrific but back of house needs a major overhaul. The hand pulled triangle noodles were great but the spicy beef soup in was in failed miserably. Love the food here. Scallion pancakes are nice and crispy on the outside and chewy on the in. Noodles with beef sauce is my 3 YO's favorite. She won't eat any other noodles elsewhere. In some ways, the work of a critic is very easy. (Ratatouille reference) We enjoy our meals and sit down simply to write our thoughts through the internet for others to read. Our praise and criticism often alter the course of business around us in ways we cannot imagine. Other times, our work becomes a little more complicated than that. Our first visit to Noodle st. was definitely not a pleasant one. The servers were rude and the meal was mediocre. However, my most recent visit has given me a whole new perspective. The service we were treated with was exceptional to say the least. Our meals were all made in expeditious manner, and the servers were attentive to not only us, but also those within our vicinity. Our meal consisted of a beef noodle soup, beef fried rice, french fries, cucumber salad, and two drinks. The watermelon juice and passion fruit green tea. Though I have some things to say about the negative side of their product, I think it's better to be left out with their newly added efforts in customer service. Surely, their kitchen staff will improve too, I hope. Their beef in the beef noodle soup was definitely tender and delicious, and I really enjoyed the almost over powering garlic-y taste in the cucumber salad. My criticism is with the beef noodle soup's broth and the fried rice - and let's just leave it at that. Have walked by this restaurant numerous times on my way to Din Tai Fung. Decided to eat here after the wait at DTF was too long. The bone in rib noodle soup is AMAZING; the bone broth is so rich and flavorful, really delicious bone broth soup. In my opinion, everything else that I've tried has been meh- the tomato egg noodles were too sweet and the scallion pancakes tasted average. Except for one time we didn't get the scallion pancakes we ordered, but they comped it for us since they came out late. So great customer service as well! Came here after Din Tai Fung had a 2 hour wait and man am I glad I did. Their noodle is freshly made from cratch. Legit hand folded noodles and is easily one of the best I've ever had. Their beef soup was very flavorful and would recommend it to anyone. Their green and black were also really good! We got the fried noodles and the rice with Korean bbq. The portions are ok. I regretted getting the Korean bbq. It was just ok. The noodles were supposedly good but I didn't get to taste them. Located inside of Westfield Mall, they do outdoor dining out in the promenade area. I'm going to talk a lot about the disorganization of the service, but the friendliness of the waiter made up for it. Came on a Friday night, and there was some wait. One of the guys up in front said the wait would be 20 minutes, but we ended up waiting 45 minutes for the table. They call you when you are up next but I waited around when it was getting long. The underestimation was due to bad execution by the dining staff as well as difficulty in communication with the kitchen staff so people dining finish way later than normal. I later got calls from the place when I was next in line, but I was already seated. There seemed to be 3 people out in dining area handling tabling, orders, bringing out utensils, processing bills, cleaning, etc. There were also only about 10 tables, which didn't seen too much for the staff to handle. It was kind of hard to flag down the staff to get the things we wanted. They didn't give us spoons by default for the noodle soup. The food did come out relatively fast though. When we asked for the check, they gave us the wrong bill and didn't have it and it took them about 10 more minutes to get it from inside. Server named Andrew was a chill guy and nice about everything and kept apologizing. As for the food, the signature beef noodle was light and tasty, not too salty like taiwanese beef noodle soup. I would much prefer the taiwanese style however. The beef was thinly sliced and tender. It also came with a side of chili oil which I put in to make it more flavorful. You also have 4 different types of noodles to choose from and they describe what each one is like on the menu. I also got the scallion pancakes which was crispy and good, but maybe it should have also came with a dipping sauce. I'm not a fan of lanzhou style (I think) beef noodle soup in general, but overall food was decent quality. read more

Great outdoor seating amidst the COVID environment. I was genuinely surprised by how authentic and tasty the food was. Given that it's at the mall, I didn't see that coming. The spicy beef noodle soup was amazing with the knife cut noodles. I haven't found knife cut noodles in LA, maybe I'm not looking hard enough, but they were AWESOME. Our party ordered 2 spicy beef noodles, 1 original, KBBQ on rice and eggs with tomatoes over rice. It was freezing on the patio so we ordered 2 hot teas and 2 hot waters. Along with other drinks. My beef noodle arrived and it was fine. The other beef noodle didn't show up. All other food was served. People who ordered after us got their soups. Still no beef noodle. We told the waitress several times and she said, " oh it's coming". Finally it came, we had all finished eating though. They did take it off the bill but it just fell flat. The beef roll pancakes were cold, barely any beef and stuffed with way too much cilantro and onions. It tasted as though I was eating an onion and cilantro pancake rather than the beef roll pancake. We're very disappointed at the visit this time. 1. Waitlist on Yelp shows 40-45 min so I've joined first and planned to arrive 30min later to check in, and then 20 min later it notified me the table is ready but I had not arrived yet and asked me to call the restaurant if I needed more time. 2. We've sat down at around 7:20pm and started ordering. They were out of the clear noodle which was what we've came for. So we ordered the cucumber cold dish and chicken knifed noodle. We waited 10 min for the cold dish, and by the time we finished the cucumber 10 min later we still haven't received our chicken noodle. 3. We've notified the staff and apparently they've missed our order so we had to wait another 10 min for the noodle to arrive which took about 30 min. 4. The knife noodle was okay not as "chewy" as described however the meat portion was appropriate. When I tried to pack the left over carefully by pouring only the food without the chili oil into the small container, the lady/ restaurant manger was looking at me as she was like wtf of what I was doing so she "offered" her help by quickly pouring everything into the container for me. 5. I wasn't sure what was going on with the staff if they were tired for the day or just new hire, we were very dissatisfied with the service. First they've missed my order when they just simply tap on the iPad. No additional plates/ or bowls were provided for us and we had to asked for them. The lady/ manager gave me a disgusted look when I was packing my food carefully into the container without the chili oil. One of the staff/ waiters did apologize to us for waiting so long for the chicken noodle. I will not recommend any friends to come for the food and customer service. read more
