The last time I ordered from them, I was pretty disappointed. The chow mein was good, it always is. The right amount of salt, and I just get it vegetarian because it's the best one! Unfortunately my bento wasn't right. First, they had neglected to put on the wasabi and ginger for the sashimi, so I had to ask for it. Then I noticed that there was no rice. So I summoned the waitress and asked if the bento was supposed to come with rice (I've been eating bento for years and have NEVER had one that didn't come with rice). She said it didn't, and offered to bring some. I declined as I was starting to wonder what I'd gotten myself into. How was the taste? The sashimi was fresh and good, and much tastier with wasabi and ginger. The hunk of cooked BC salmon on a bed of sautéed cabbage was also good. But alas the tempura was very oddly seasoned. The batter was too sweet, as if they were making donuts. We finished our meal and the check arrived. $2 up charge for the BC salmon. Okay I guess. But $3 up charge to not put teriyaki sauce on my salmon? Come on.

The noodles were great on their own, the caramelized onions were succulent, and the black bean sauce helps make everything in the dish taste exuberant. The sushi roll was fresh, crunchy, meaty and full of flavour. The service was nice, and I liked the waitress that served me. The chicken pieces were so tiny that they got lost in the batter. It was also too sweet. If you're not a fan of sweet fried chicken, don't order this. We didn't think soy garlic would be too sweet so we were quite disappointed and didn't want to send food back when many around the world barely have anything to eat. Fried rice = taste was fantastic but the portion was tiny for a plate that cost about $19! I was surprised to have onion and sauce served with it; never had it before but I didn't mind it. They automatically add a 15% gratuity to your bill, and based on their explanation, it's not up for negotiation. If you don't pay attention, you'll be scammed because there tipping "page" pops up first thing when they hand you the machine to settle your bill. In Canada, tips are NOT mandatory. If you are satisfied with the food and service, then you pay a tip that you want - it's a choice. Restaurants cannot add a tip of their choice to your bill, this restaurant is a scam. I'd lodge an official complaint about this shady business. My friends who were there with us will do that too. People need to speak up and not get bullied by shady businesses. We are usually generous with tips but I don't appreciate a restaurant making a tipping decision on my behalf.

The front of the menu clearly states 15% gratuity will be added to the bill (at least it's calculated before GST!), and the server did remind us the 15% gratuity was already added to our bill when she gave it to us (so, selected "no tip" at time of payment).
