For one, when you come to pick up your food the room looks like it is a hoarder's spot for cardboard boxes. Why? Not sure. This is the second time I have ordered a combination meal with shrimp.in the old days they were perfect. Two times, many months apart I have gotten shrimp that were obviously old, rebattered and refried. Just terrible. I sympathize with small restaurants trying to make it, but if shrimp is so expensive you must use it two days (or more since they weren't open yesterday), maybe leave them off the menu. I hope things improve but I probably won't be back.

I ordered the dinner combo #1 which included chicken chow mein, sweet&sour pork and deep fried prawns for $12.50 plus tax. I have to say that even though it sounds cheap the food is not worth it at all sadly! I called and placed my order and picked it up exactly 20 minutes later (which they quoted)...BUT the food was cold! The chicken stir fry was crap that had absolutely NO flavor! Deep fried prawn? All I got was shrimp that were heavily coated with batter to increase the size!! Sweet and sour pork? Not sure if I even got a pork meat to be honest...so yeah all in all crappy food for which i don't care for even on my worst day! I don't know how they even sell the food as authentic Chinese...kind of funny

When I was there, it was not very busy, so I got a table right away. The inside of the restaurant had a classy look to while still maintaining the Japanese aesthetic to it. The menu has so many more choices than I have seen any Japanese restaurant carry. From sushi and donburi bowls to Korean chicken and Fried Nori Tacos I actually had trouble deciding what I wanted because of how much there was to choose from. I ordered the Janjangmyun with the Crazy Boy Sushi Roll. The janjangmyun was fantastic overall. The noodles were great on their own, the caramelized onions were succulent, and the black bean sauce helps make everything in the dish taste exuberant. The sushi roll was fresh, crunchy, meaty and full of flavour. The service was nice, and I liked the waitress that served me. I really look forward to coming back to Noodle Road because I want to try their K-Pop Chicken the next time I come there. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Soy garlic = unfortunately, this made me sick afterwards. Chicken was old and chewy. We knew it wasn't fresh because we've had endless amounts of Korean fried chicken at many places in Canada and in Korea. Batter was so thick, as if it was re-battered and refried. The chicken pieces were so tiny that they got lost in the batter. It was also too sweet. If you're not a fan of sweet fried chicken, don't order this. We didn't think soy garlic would be too sweet so we were quite disappointed and didn't want to send food back when many around the world barely have anything to eat. Fried rice = taste was fantastic but the portion was tiny for a plate that cost about $19! I was surprised to have onion and sauce served with it; never had it before but I didn't mind it. It didn't elevate the dish or did anything to it so it could've been left out. Service = good. The hostess was friendly. Ambience = it is small but clean. Nothing much to say about decor but what is most important is that the tables and dishes are clean.

The staff was very nice. You can see the inside of the kitchen from the waiting area and it's a very young team in the kitchen, which you don't often see in restaurants. You don't get fortune cookies. The portions are on the smaller side for everything. I'm the most impressed with the lemon chicken and chicken balls. The fried crust on both of them is light and crispy. I found the beef and broccoli to be lacking in flavour. The other courses that we ordered were alright and inoffensive. I must say the chicken chow mein is very underwhelming. Not only was it dry and bland, but it also hardly had any chicken bits. For the price and taste, I wouldn't really recommend this restaurant.
