What a wonderful surprise! The food was excellent. When I got there it was mostly full and that is always a good sign! The food was fresh, hot, very tasty, I really enjoyed it and I will be back! And a really nice touch having a salad bar although I didn't have any, but also a full selection of desserts and six different types of ice cream. The drinks were really inexpensive, overall it was a top-notch experience with very friendly nice staff. Sorry I did not take a great picture, I just had a little bit to start but was so impressed I had two more plates! I have been to many chinese buffets in BC but none of them compare to ones I've been to in the states. However this place does have pretty good points. Fried wonton wrappers and shrimp chips - what a plus to have Hot and sour soup - done well. The right flavor and the right ingredients. Chicken drums - big drums but very tasteless in the middle. Needs to be marinated Sweet and sour pork - bad. Soggy soupy mess. Dry pork ribs - on the drier/crunchier side but the taste is ok Deep fried pork chop - super dry Garlic spicy tofu - really good flavor and i wish they threw this 'sauce' onto their ribs and pork chops Spring roll - gigantic but not bad Dimsum bean curd wrap. Hit or miss. Some baskets had salty sauce. Some had just the right salt. Dimsum stick rice - very tiny. Not much to say about it. Honey sausage - not bad even though its store bought. Have had worse Thick shanghai noodles - really needs some more veggies or something. Super plain Did not try wontons but husband said they were better than other buffets. Button mushrooms - delicious garlicy sauce. The only warning from me is the ice cream. They have 6 flavors unlabelled with a scoop that is just in still water with a tiny bit of water running through. I knew it was a bad idea but I ate it anyways. Within 5 min I had to vomit. Afer vomitting the blue and pink ice cream, I was fine. No food was vomitted lol. Plenty of parking and lots of servers with good attitude. read more

Popped in for lunch around 1230 on a Monday. The buffet was smaller than others I've been to, but I favour quality over quantity, and the food tasted fresh. The service was awesome. I know at a buffet you serve yourself but the staff was very friendly and attentive. They bring you a glass of water right away and ask if you'd like anything else to drink (I had Chinese tea). They were very on top of refilling waters and clearing plates and they brought me my bill for whenever I was ready just before I finished (without my asking) which I appreciated being on lunch break. First up was the salad bar, didn't spend much time there but I did get a couple pieces of sushi. They only had one variety, the kind you would expect to see at a Chinese buffet. I liked it and got a couple more on my second trip up. They also had green onions on the salad bar which I was stoked about because I love to load up my wonton soup with green onion. Next was soup, both wonton and another that I believe was hot and sour. I had seconds of the wonton soup. They had a couple noodle dishes, I took some of what looked like chow fun (or as my family calls them, "fat noodles") and then the dim sum section. The selection for dim sum that day was dumplings (looked like Shumai but tasted a bit different, I think pork) as well as what looked like bean curd rolls and sticky rice. I liked the size of the sticky rice, the portion was quite small compared to traditional dim sum which was good because I only wanted a little. I love dim sum and am a picky about my sticky rice. This one was simple and yummy. The deep fried chicken legs were a little over done but still good. The fried ribs were really tasty! They just put out a fresh batch when I came up so that was ideal but I also don't typically see these style ribs and they were very yummy. Had seconds of those. I tried two veggie dishes, one with mostly mushrooms and the other had broccoli, corn, carrots and onion. I got a big second helping of the broccoli dish. The broccoli was saucey and crunchy. That was really nice because I feel like these kind of veggie dishes can often be limp and disappointing at buffets. Some other items I saw but didn't try were sesame balls, egg rolls, garlic ribs, sweet and sour pork, steamed rice, French fries. They also had a dessert buffet and ice cream but I didn't try anything from there or really look because I don't care for sweets. I was very happy with the experience and feel this is a good value for the price. I've tried some great Asian buffets in Washington state and California but this is the best one I've tried in the lower mainland/greater Vancouver area, (so far ). read more

It does not matter if you go to the Abbotsford location or an independent one in Chilliwack with the same name. Top quality food and service at both locations despite the Chilliwack eatery being larger with more selection. I took a new neighbor for lunch at the Abbotsford location which us far out, and several years ago working beyond Chilliwack I would try to hit the Asian buffet but often got thwarted by pencil pushers in the office who pelted you with deliveries or pick ups far off my route to annoy while they daily took lunch breaks and coffee breaks while drivers were handcuffed by stress pressure. Deliciously delivered Chinese food for two u dear $40.00 with the tip. We ordered two of the dinners for two...one with chowmein and the other with fried rice. The dinner for two came with chow me in or fried rice, sweet and sour pork, beef and broccoli, and three prawns and a spring roll plus a jello dessert for $14.00. It came piping hot, tasted delicious, wasn't over cooked or over battered a d they delivered free of charge within 5 km. We ordered a couple of extra spring rolls and they were delicious too. My wife and I have been coming here for ten years and have enjoyed the food tremendously along with the prices, so when we went back for dinner two weeks ago and ate our meal, we got up and paid our bill as per usual and tipped generously for a retired couple and given it was buffet style therefore not requiring much table service. Well, I was shocked when I looked at the bill and it was $51!!!! It went up at least 35% since we were last there! I went with my family for my mom's birthday. With out of town family (party of 16) visiting a buffet seemed like a good choice. There are a lot of choices, about 60 items. I really want to recommend this place but based on today's food, I can't. Overall, I feel the recipes are good. The issue is the execution. The temperature of most of the dishes was barely warm. It may be a problem with the heat lamps. It could be that the streamer trays weren't on, but we arrived at 5pm and seemed to be the first party for dinner. That food should have been piping hot. The rice and noodles were fine. Sesame chicken: greasy, barely warm Fried bass fish: excellent Crispy chicken excellent Squid: cold Pepper chicken: cold Dry ribs: excellent Egg rolls: crispy, good filling but greasy Sui mai: bland Potstickers: okay Ginger beef: terrible, burnt, greasy Mushrooms: bland and canned Zucchini in black bean sauce: tasty Onion rings: inedible, greasy Spicy prawns: tasty but shell-on and not de-veined. Desserts: a good mix of squares and things Ice cream station: 6 unlabelled flavours. The purple swirly one was good. There is a marble fruit flavoured on that was amazing. There is one major issue with the station. The scoop is in a hotel tray filled with water that is not circulating. Everybody's fingers go into that water. This is a health hazard. I took the chance and had ice cream anyway. I'm not trying to slam this business. I think they have potential to be great if the kitchen takes care of their basics and training. This place was great! Took my sons last night and we all enjoyed it. We were all craving Chinese buffet so we searched the hotel directory and found this place advertised. There was lots of variety food wise and something for every taste. I'm not much of a soup person but I tried the hot and sour based on another persons review. It was excellent! All dishes were nice and tasty. I enjoyed the sesame balls, the sticky rice wraps, dim sum, the Buddha vegetables and many other dishes. Is this authentic Chinese? No. But it is good American style Chinese in a fast food style. It is an excellent value. The price at dinner was around $15 for adults which includes all you can eat plus sushi, salad and desserts as well. The kids prices were also very reasonable. As for the service, it was excellent. Everyone was really friendly. I enjoyed hearing the servers joke and interact with some of the older regular customers. I would return to this buffet if I was in the area again. read more

Ordered food for delivery on New Year's Day, it never came.. the next day were closed, called back on the Tuesday complained, the lady on the phone said manager was busy then lied and said was no manager working. After few hours I got a call back, was given a free 22$ for credit so I went to the buffet to eat, and it was really gross food. Tasted like cheap ingredients and crapy cooks. The desert was gross boxed cupcakes and brownies with peanuts and hard crusted ice cream. For $16.99 this is retardedly over priced cheap gross food. Rip off of Ontario's real Mandarin buffet I should have asked for "secret menu" lol I will not be returning. read more

First time we ordered Chinese food since we moved to Abbotsford. Sorry but won't be coming back. Soggy chicken in our Kung pao, not to mention completely lacking spice in a dish that is known to be hot, okay chow mein and extremely tough squid in chilli salt. Also not spicy, this dish done well should make you sweat a little. Also will be throwing out my consommé soup. How can consommé soup not be good, lol! Visiting family in White Rock (I'm from Texas) and spent some time online looking for a good Chinese AYCE buffet. Based on recommendations (not the one below, thank God!) from other sites, we drove about an hour to get to Mandarin Garden for lunch. It was well worth the drive. The interior is very tastefully done, very clean and very well presented ... unusual for a Chinese buffet joint. There is a small salad bar, but two longish rows and LOTS of various Chinese dishes. I loved the wonton soup ... had 3 bowls of that. The curry chicken on rice was yummylicious. There's a small selection of dimsum, all you can eat too! All the food was very very good and delicious and authentic. There was such a good selection we didn't eat all of what was displayed. There are bottles of sauces and other spices on top of the separation between the two rows of food. I added hot pepper sauce for that zing which I like. We found out that the owner is Chinese from Malaysia. I highly recommend this place if you have time for a leisurely drive out to Abbotsford. It is well worth it. First of all, this review is for the lunch buffet. Four of us ate and had tea for $40. How can you go wrong at that price for AYCE?! The salad bar items were pretty darn fresh, there were two types of mediocre "sushi", two rows of hot food, a dessert bar and self - serve ice cream. I had soup to start and let me say, I would drive a long time just to eat their hot and sour soup - it was incredible (maybe the best I've had)! There were a lot of decent vegetable dishes but the disappointment for me was the chicken and pork dishes. There were so many bones in these that it was a waste. Other good items were the dim sum, pork egg rolls, and the gyoza-style dumplings. The place was clean and staff was friendly - I would go again! read more

Strongly recommend not to eat in this restaurant due to bad service even​ foods are ok and with reasonable price. A Chinese lady who claimed that she's the owner, her attitude was really bad to us, making my friends and I feel insulted and Racial discrimination. We went with a group and accidentally sat on a table that was not planned for us to sit (however, the bus driver did not tell us which specific table we could sit in). The lady simply yelled at us. She told other caucasian customers at the other table in front of our Chinese group that we can not understand English at all, but we do speak English(I can even write). She also claimed that she is a Korean who doesn't know how to speak Chinese, but I cut her speak fluent Chinese to other customers. After that some of our friends went to talk to her had the same feedback as well, so they went over to have conversation with her, asked for the apology from the owner, but turned out that she told us " If you don't like eat here, don't come to the restaurant next time." Not terrible but it used to be a lot better. Food to order is much better than their buffet in my opinion. The chow mein is extremely wet and oily. The sweet and sour chicken balls are kinda moist and taste like grease. The sweet and sour pork, while tasting fine, was made of rather horrible pieces of "meat." I will say that the vegetable egg rolls are still as good as they ever were. It's been less than good the last two or three times I've eaten there so I don't think I'll be going again. read more
